ALPHA’S REGRET: FALSE MATE, TRUE LUNA
TRUE 48
ou all say bI /bstole bher /bringb?/bb” /b
When I said this, Ferris’s brow furrowed even tighterb, /bhis deep eyes bing more mysterious.
Ignoring bhis /bgaze, I walked straight toward Ashleyb, /bwho looked confused.
The bnext /bsecond, I raised my hand and pped her hard across the bface/bb. /b
The surroundings instantly erupted in chaosb. /b
Everyone knew that Ashley was backed by Alpha Ferris and would very likely be his Luna in the future. Who would dare touch her in front of Ferris?
Even though I had Alpha Adrian’s bprotection/bb, /bthe weight was vastly different–Ashley was the future Lunab, /bwhile I was bjust /ban insignificant medical worker.
This p caught Ferris off guard.
He quickly grabbed my wristb, /bhis tone icy yet unable to hide his shock: “What are you doingb?/b”
bI /bpushed him away, my eyes red with angerb, /b“What am I doingb? /bI don’t need the title of thief!”
bI /blooked at Ashley, who was covering her cheek in shock, andughed: “bI /bdare to hit you in front of Alpha Ferris, would I really bcovet /bstealing your ring? bIf /bbI /bwanted it, I’d bjust /brob you directly. Why would I need to use the word ‘steal“?”
b“/bYour ring was always on your hand. How could I possibly take it from under your noseb?/bb” /b
b‘/bOr are you saying that when I removed your ring, you didn’t feel a thing? Then be a doctor is probably a really poor career decision for youb./b”
‘1b…/b”
Ashley hadn’t expected me to turn the situation around, her face turning slightly pale.
The others all thought it made sense.
Ferris looked at Ashley with suspicion in his eyes.
Ashley suppressed the panic in her eyes, calling out urgently: “No… the ring wasn’t on my finger, so…”
Seeing she was about to reveal her ws, I continued pressing: “You said this was your favorite ring, and it was given to you by Alpha Ferris. If you weren’t wearing this ring, how would I know you had it?”
grabbed her struggling hand, “Or are you saying you specifically took it out to show off to me? And I took it right out of your pocket after you finished howing offb?/bb” /b
‘Enough.”
bFerris /bgrabbed my wristb, /bsaying: “How long are you going to make a scene in front of all these people!”
What’s happening?
bI /blooked at Ferris in disbeliefb, /bmy heart feeling dead: “Oh now I’m the one making a scene? That head of yours seemd finest time I checked. I probably missed something. My bad, I’ll say bit /bslower this timeb–/bbI/bb, /bAM, INNOCENTb./b”
“Innocent?b” /bFerris suddenly burst intoughter, “The ring was found in your bagb, /band you say you’re innocent?b” /b
That one sentence was like a death bsentence /bbto /bmeb. /b
My blood seemed to freezeb, /bb“/bbYou /bknow I wouldn’t—b” /b
“I only believe in evidence.”
His words took away thest trace of warmth from my heart.
Ashley pulled Ferris’s hand and said: “Ferris, forget it. Dr. Windsor didn’t mean it, and besides, the ring has been found. I don’t me Dr. Windsor.”
Her magnanimity earned praise from those around.
No matter how I exined, it seemed pale and powerless.
Because the ring was taken from my bag, who would believe me in front of everyone?
Just then, a ck–haired warrior entered from outside the hall and whispered something to Adrian.
After listening, Adrian smiled somewhat sarcastically.
“So this is how Alpha Ferris protects the wolves of your pack.”
He stepped forward, his figure tall and straight, his gaze sharp as a de, directly piercing those who tried to question me.
“Your so–called ‘evidence‘ is nothing but a trap deliberately created by that woman. Are you blind?”
He coldly surveyed Ashley, his tone icy as he questioned: “Since you insist Aurora stole your ring, how about we check the surveince footage together?”
