Aurora’s Perspective

b“/bYou can bgo /bback now. bI’ll /battend tonight’s bbanquet/bb,/bb” /bbFerris /bsaid impatiently.

b“/bAlright.”

After leaving bthe /bbreakfast behind, Ashley bgave /bme another smug look before leaving.

When Ferris turned baround/b, he indeed saw me standing behind him.

For some reasonb, /bhe instinctively bfelt /bguilty.

“When did you wake bup/bb?/bb” /b

My expression was calm: b“/bbJust /bwhen Ashley asked you to marry her. Congrattions.”

Ferris’s heart clenched sharply.

The air froze for a few seconds.

Ferris’s dark eyes gazed deeply at meb: /b“bIf /byou have any objections, you can voice them now.”

As he said this, his gaze locked firmly on me, while he silently repeated in his heart-

As long as she said one word of “no,” he could immediately overturn all decisions.

However, I only smiled faintly, gently shaking my head, my tone even calmer and more distant than before: “Congrattions to you both. If you need me bto /bcooperate with the divorce proceedings, I will, dly.”

Something heavy seemed to crash down in Ferris’s heart.

He hadn’t expected that I truly didn’t care anymore.

Didn’t care that he was engaged to someone else, didn’t care whether he woulde back, didn’t even care who was sitting beside him.

His throat tightened, but he didn’t know what to say, only feeling the irritation rising in his chest growing stronger.

The next second, he coughed abruptly, walked to the table, grabbed the breakfast Ashley had carefully prepared, and threw it into the trash without hesitation.

“Order whatever you want to eat yourself.” After saying this coldly, he walked past me and entered his study without another word.

I didn’t stay at the vi any longer and drove back to my apartment.

Encountering such things at the hot spring hotel had already ruined my vacation mood.

After getting homeb, /bMilo called me.

“Aurora!” Milo’s voice was as bright as always, though it carried barely contained excitement. “I have good news to tell you.”

“What?”

“That medical project we invested in togetherst time has been approved iby /ithe research institute, and the funding has been approved too. We’re even on the first round of priority funding list.”

bI /bbwas /bstunned, then sat up straight with some surprise: b“/bAre you serious?”

“Of course I’m serious! Would I lie to you? The details and clinical data in your report were beautifully done. The experts specifically praised you by name. We bcouldn’t /bbhave /bbbeen /bselected without your contribution.”

I couldn’t help but smile a little, and the gloom weighing on my heart seemed to lift somewhat: “That’s wonderful… really wonderful.”

Just after he finished speaking. Milo clutched his head in regretb: /b“Three years! A whole three years! If you hadn’t run off to get married, ourpany would probably be world–famous by now!”

Hearing him shout made my ears hurt, so I held the phone away.

After hanging up, my mood improved considerably. I opened my wardrobe to choose a dress.

There was an auction in a couple of days, and with my grandmother’s birthday approaching, I wanted to go to the auction to pick out some suitable gifts for her.

On the day of the auction, I dressed up specially.

I applied light makeup and wore a well–tailored ck off–shoulder dress, paired with pearl earrings, making me look dignified and elegant

As soon as I arrived at the exhibition hall entrance, I saw a woman in a silver dress waving at me with a bright smile.

It was my good friend Cynthia.

This auction had a high threshold, and I could only get tickets thanks to her help.

Both Cynthia and I dressed quite low–key, but because we were both exceptionally beautiful, we still attracted many eyes when we appeared in the auction hall.

Cynthia had attended several auctions and was quite active in these circles, so many people knew her.

But me–they were all seeing for the first time.

Seeing me attend the auction with Cynthia, many people were specting about which family’s daughter I might be.
