ALPHA’S REGRET: FALSE MATE, TRUE LUNA
TRUE 83
bChapter /bb83 /b
Ferris had bbeen /breviewing documents in his hands. When he bheard /bb“/bbshe’s /bwaiting for you downstairsb,/bb” /bhis movements imperceptibly paused.
After a moment, he calmly closed the file and said coldlyb: /b“There are plenty bof /bpeople waiting for me. Let her continue waiting outside.”
Simon pressed his lips together and nced out the window.
Remembering how Aurora had looked like a little snowman when he saw herb, /bbhe /bcouldn’t help but remind: “Alpha bFerris/b, bit’s /bbsnowing /bboutside/bb./bb” /b
bFerris /bleaned back in his chair, his gaze passing through the floor–bto/b–ceiling window. Snow filled the bsky/b, half the city was dyed white, and below, snow and mist bwere /bso thick that the slender figure could no longer be seen.
“If she really wants bto /bsee me, she’ll wait,” his voice was hoarse but carried its habitual arrogance and coldnessb. /b“This is the price she must pay for what she’s done recentlyb./b”
After speakingb, /bhe pulled the documents back in front of him and began reviewing them one by one, as if the person standing in the cold wind waspletely insignificant.
He deliberately dyed until the entire administrative center was empty and night had fallen.
Only then did he stand up, adjust his cuffs, and walk downstairs with elegant but unhurried steps.
Outside the doorb, /bthere was no one except the guards.
bFerris’s /bbsteps /bfaltered, his brow furrowing sharply.
‘Aurorab?/bb” /bHe called out, his cold voice dispersing in the night wind, but there was no response.
Frowning, he tried to establish a mindlink–that mental channel that had once been so familiar between them.

nk.
bAs /bif the person on the other end of the mental link hadn’t received the message at all and remained silent.
Ferris suddenly clenched his fist, his knuckles turning white as anger and an indescribable panic surged up together.
she dared not respond to him!?
Where did she go?”
The next second, from the other side of the entrance corner, a patrolling guard ran over frantically, his expression panicked:
Alpha Ferris! Someone just found a female copsed at the bottom of the west side stairs of the administrative district, with abnormal body temperature–she’s till unconscious and has been taken to the nearby medical facility!”
‘erris’s pupils suddenly contracted, his face instantly bing extremely grim.
Without saying a word, he transformed into a swift silver wolf and rushed into the night.
Wind howled, snow fell heavily.
Ferris moved swiftly, his silver fur disheveled by the wind. His heartbeat was out of control, his chest feeling as if it were being viciously squeezed by an invisible hand.
No no not her-
The white walls of the medical facility appeared before his eyes. He practically crashed through the emergency entrance doors, growling lowly. “Where is
Aurora?”
The medical staff were startled by his oppressive presence and pointed toward the end of the emergency room.
Fertis strode forward and through the thick ss saw the figure lying quietly on the hospital bed–pale, skinny, with barely perceptible chest movements.
He suddenly stopped, his fists slowly denching-
In that moment, he truly understood for the first time what fear meant.
