CHAPTER 89: 89-HE WANTS TO BE HER HERO

Kash:

"Truth or dare?" I asked. Before he could respond, I added, "And please do not just pick truth. Come on. You want to be a hero? Pick something better this time," I challenged.

I had figured his mentality out. He desperately wanted to come off as a strong man.

"Dare," he replied.

The moment he said it, I smiled because he had fallen right into my trap.

"Kiss Scarlett," I told him, and gasps erupted in the air.

"Don’t you think it will ruin relationships?" Lara questioned, even though she hadn’t cared before.

I gave her a hand gesture to silence her.

"Come on, Luca. You cannot accept a dare and then refuse to fulfill it," I remarked with a chuckle, watching him click his tongue and narrow his eyes at me. "What happened? You all wanted to play a game, but now all you want to do is talk. One dare and every one of you goes silent."

I continued challenging Luca, noticing how his ears were turning red.

Iris stared at me with a deep glare, like she would attack me if she could, and it irritated me even more. Why was she so bothered?

Was she really that in love with him?

I looked at Scarlett and noticed she was anxiously rubbing her palms together.

"I hope you’re not uncomfortable with it. It’s just a game," I told her, and she gave me a small nod.

The awkwardness faded when Luca turned around and grabbed Scarlett’s chin.

The two faced each other. Iris lowered her head before lifting it again to watch them.

Luca pressed his lips to Scarlett’s. She held his wrist while he kept her chin lifted.

I noticed the way Iris stared at them. Then she looked at me, and all her expressions shifted again. She looked angry.

Luca pulled back and shot me a cocky grin.

"Is it okay, or do you want me to use tongue?" he remarked, and I grunted under my breath.

Lara snatched the bottle and spun it. It moved for a few seconds before stopping on Luca again.

"Wow, it seems like it’s your night," I commented with a chuckle.

"Dare," Luca replied, proving once again that he was thick-skinned.

But what Lara did next shook me. I thought we were playing on the same side.

It wasn’t fair to say that, because she was playing only against Iris, but still.

"Make out with Iris for one minute," Lara instructed, shooting a look at me.

I didn’t understand why Iris looked so shocked, but I was.

I wasn’t only shocked, I was upset with Lara. Whatever little victory I had, she ruined it.

Luca made direct eye contact with me and smirked before turning to Iris, this time with more excitement, showing a clear difference between how he kissed Scarlett and how he reacted to kissing Iris.

I watched the two. It took Iris a few seconds to look away from me after she shot me a deadly glare, probably accusing me of making Luca kiss Scarlett.

Iris faced Luca, and the two leaned in. The way Luca instantly caught her lips with his, I was completely bothered.

Flashback:

"Wait here," I told Iris as I crossed the road to get her a flower bouquet.

We had spent the whole day together, and I had planned a beautiful evening for her.

Getting married to her was the best thing that had ever happened to me.

Thinking about how unwilling I had been at first almost made me laugh at myself.

I had returned from a war at the border last night and told Iris I had craved her company so much that I wanted to dedicate the entire day to her.

Once across the road, I watched Iris stand beside the car and look around.

"Alpha King Kash, your gift and bouquet are ready," the shop manager announced as he came outside.

I had asked him to prepare the gift in time, and he always delivered well.

As I waited for him to bring it out, I saw, through the fast-moving cars, a man approaching Iris.

He looked rough. His shirt was half open and his hair filled with gel.

His body language alone was worrisome. He stared hard at every woman he passed, even catcalling them.

Then he walked past Iris. My muscles stiffened. My mind warned me something was about to happen.

My instincts proved right when the man suddenly grabbed Iris by her arm.

"What the fuck? Let me go!" she screamed.

He looked like a serial offender, probably the same man my warriors had been searching for because of the complaints about him harassing women on the road.

As Iris protested, he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. She scratched him and screamed, doing everything she could.

It lasted only a second or two. I was already trying to cross the road, but too many cars were rushing by.

I could have stopped them, but I knew accidents would happen. I was careful, but my mind was breaking apart.

Within the next three seconds, I made it across the road. I grabbed the man by the back of his collar and yanked him away from Iris.

He hit the ground, and when he looked up at me, fear filled his eyes.

People gathered around us while I howled, my canines showing as I leapt on top of him.

I began beating the living crap out of him. I heard screams around me while his blood splattered, but I kept going.

"If anyone touches my Iris again, I will break your arms and throw them into a ditch where you will spend the rest of your life picking up the pieces of yourself!" I roared as I bit into the man’s neck so hard that blood gushed out.

Nobody could stop me. Nobody. But the moment Iris placed her hand on my bicep, even without turning to see who it was, I knew.

My body stopped.

"That’s enough," she uttered, and my anger began to fade.

End Of Flashback:

There was once a time I wouldn’t let anyone touch Iris, and then here I was tonight, watching her get intimate with her new man.
