An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me
Chapter 234: Lara
CHAPTER 234: LARA
A man floated up in the air above the kingdom of Vermilion, flying so high that it would be impossible to sense him. He was draped in a black cloak that reached all the way to his ankles. He placed both hands behind his back as he looked with a sharp gaze, his waist-long hair floating in the air, giving him a badass look.
His face was covered in a red pattern, and his eyes were that of a demon. He looked down at the capital, watching everything that was happening.
A few seconds later, a figure appeared beside him, dressed in the same cloak. It was a lady, her white hair flowing in the night as well. She floated with elegance, striking a simple yet powerful pose as she looked down.
"Seems they are having a banquet as the information said," the lady said, a look of disgust on her face.
"Seeing that this place was once your home, your hate toward it is very shocking," the man said.
"Tsk, I regret the fact that I was born from this place. They hid all the past under a bright and new kingdom.
They buried all the things that they did. There is no way that I would forgive them after what they did. The Vermilion kingdom is evil, and until they come out for their crimes, I’ll never stop," she said, her anger radiating, ready to destroy.
"Take a breather. You can’t attack recklessly. Tonight is the best night to use the method the kingdom of Sapphire has been working on. It will allow us to finally attack properly and bring them down," the man said.
"Do you believe we can do that?" she asked.
"Yes, we can, as long as that Quin doesn’t interfere," the man said. He spoke as if the name Quin left a bad taste in his mouth.
"Did someone call my name?" Suddenly they heard Quinn’s voice. He appeared before them, dressed clean for the banquet.
"Quin!" the girl growled, her teeth bared. She was genuinely angry.
"It’s been a long time, Lara." Quin spoke, his tone dropping as he called her name. It was evident that these two had some sort of history, and it wasn’t a pleasant one.
"I see you are still being a lapdog for Vermilion," she said.
"And I see you are still looking for how to bring Vermilion into the ground. That’s pretty diabolical when you consider the fact that Vermilion made you," Quin said.
"Vermilion did not make me. They took away from me, from us. They kept taking and taking until we were left with nothing," she said, her anger already pouring out.
"And you choose to side with the demons then?" he asked.
"I’d rather stand with demons that let everyone know they are demons than the devils of Vermilion that lie to be holy," she replied.
"We never said we were holy," he replied.
"You didn’t need to, you show it every day. You try to uphold the image of the powerful and good kingdom.
But under all that bravado is the real Vermilion, the one that holds those diabolical pasts, those issues you submerged and tried to hide from the light of day," she said.
Quin frowned. He stared at her, then took a deep breath. "Vermilion never intended to hurt you, to hurt us, to hurt anyone," he said.
"For a kingdom that hated to hurt, they sure do a lot of it. They damaged us, and after that, they tried to bury it like it was nothing.
Yet you stand here, standing for them, standing with them. After everything that they have done, you chose them. The loss of all our mates, the loss of friendships and the bonds we had.
You and I were one of the closest. It pains me to see you still standing with their evil as their greatest weapon. You could have made them pay, you have the power to make them pay, yet you stand with them.
Were the lives of all our mates and everyone close to us not worth anything to you? To be able to move on and forget about it that easily?" she said, and his frown deepened. It seemed those words that she spoke dug deeper than the others.
"Go, Lara. Leave here and do not return to Vermilion. As your friend once, I am doing you this favor, so please go," he said.
"Go? I’m not going, not yet," she said, and then looked at the demon beside her. He nodded and floated forward, looking Quin right in the eye.
"Do you really want to do this? Demon, I have given you the opportunity to leave. I won’t give you a second chance to go away," Quin spoke, his tone getting heavier.
"Hahaha, you might be the strongest human, Quin, but I have enough tricks in my sleeve to give you a run for your money and ensure that I buy enough time for what we need to be done," he said, speaking with full confidence.
Quin frowned. He had had enough. He stretched out his hand, moving very slowly. The demon thought that he could move away, but to his surprise, he couldn’t. He tried his best to back away, but no matter how much he pulled back and struggled, he couldn’t, and the finger touched him.
Boom!
It was like a bomb had gone off. The demon was blasted back, his chest ripped open badly, blood splattering all around as he floated through the air.
Pain filled his body, he gritted his teeth as the demon healing factor started working.
’So this is the ability and strength of the strongest human. I couldn’t dodge, and a simple touch carried enough power to nearly kill me. This dude is a monster. I have to keep him distracted or all the plan will fail,’ the demon thought. He spun mid-air and looked at Quin still standing there.
"Let’s get it," he roared.
