An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me
Chapter 253: Make a club
CHAPTER 253: MAKE A CLUB
As she stood at the center of the class, she allowed her spirit zone to leave her body, and immediately a formation appeared beneath her feet. Some sort of semi-transparent dome formed and spread from her body, stopping just a few inches away from the seats.
"This is my spirit zone, not the full form of it, but I have to fit it into this place. This is the physical manifestation of my spirit zone, the formation underneath me helps me show it.
Now, what I wanted to show you guys is the ways many mages use the spirit zone. As many of you know or see, some mages are capable of doing extremely long spells, casting without spells, defending themselves without any form of magic.
It’s not talent or something that you grow into as time goes along, it takes a long time of dedicated training. But when you master everything, you will come to see the infinite potential that the spirit zone has to offer to a mage and a battle mage," she said and then raised her hand.
Suddenly, the spirit zone started reducing. No, it wasn’t reducing, it was compressing. Riven could tell that it was getting stronger the closer it got. He began to wonder what she could possibly want to do with a compressed spirit zone.
"What I have just done now was compress my spirit zone. I didn’t reduce the area of effect, I simply took the larger area of effect and, with my will and control, forced it down into a smaller size with compact mass.
Now you see, there are several things that I could do with this compressed zone. First is, I can use it for defense," she said and pointed at a random student who was a mage.
"Attack me with a spell, a simple one," she said.
The student was a little hesitant, but she ultimately pointed her palm at the instructor. She uttered the words and cast the spell; a fireball shot through the air. Everyone watched as it reached the instructor, but instead of hitting her, it slammed into the spirit zone and was stopped.
The sight stunned everyone, their interest in everything she said was piqued. She looked at their interested faces and smiled.
"Despite the fact that all of them are so interested, only a few will make it past week one. The spirit zone isn’t something everyone can handle," she muttered, then put on a smile and looked at them.
"What you have just seen is similar to a spatial forcefield. Many space types or people that learn to control space use a forcefield-type spell to block attacks.
The spell works in a simple fashion: it creates a massive space and then compresses it into a forcefield. In order for a spell to get through it, it would need enough power to break the compressed space," she said, then looked around.
"As for the spirit zone, though compressed, it works in a very different way.
The compressed mana in the spirit zone will destroy anything that tries to get through. They don’t want anything to shatter their structure, and so it creates this sort of forcefield.
Now this will be all for this class. Adding to the report that you all have to make, you also have to show progress in compressing your spirit zone before the end of the week," she said and left without another word.
The class erupted in a buzz, everyone talking about how she did it and if it was really possible.
Riven got up and headed for the door. They had a break now.
"I think this is the first serious class that we have had this whole session," Noel said.
"Yeah, everything else before this was all over the place," Riven replied.
As soon as they stepped out of the door, Riven saw Mia waiting for him outside.
"Hey," he greeted.
"Hi, how was class?" she asked.
"You were there, it was pretty good," he responded.
"Riven, I’m on my way to the training rooms, need to brush up on my sword," Noel said and left, leaving Mia with Riven.
"So, do you think you’ll continue the class?" Riven asked Mia.
"I have to. Understanding the spirit zone can allow me to become better with the sword. No matter how hard it is, I have to learn it," she said.
"I guess," Riven said and started walking. She followed beside him.
"Your birthday went by, and you didn’t do anything," she said.
"It was just another day, nothing really important," he responded.
Smack.
"Ouchhhhh."
Riven cried as he held the back of his head and looked at her. "What was that for?" he asked.
"A birthday is important. It doesn’t have to be lavish, but it is, especially your fourteenth one," she said, then looked forward.
"I was also looking forward to spending it with you," she said.
Riven looked at her. "Oh, I see," he said. "Then maybe next year," he said.
"I guess," she replied. "So what’s your plan? Despite the fact that classes are being taken seriously now, we still have a lot of time on our hands. And if we also learn what we are taught faster, it would give us even more time," she said.
"Hmmm, I guess I’ll be going out to explore dungeons," Riven said.
"You can’t just leave like that, you know, right? You need something like a club that is allowed outside. The academy also funds club activities."
"Hmm, so what clubs can I join?" he asked.
"No need to join, why not make yours? As the rank one, you have a lot of leeway. Making a club shouldn’t be too hard for you, just speak to Sir Quin or the headmistress," she said.
"I guess I’ll do that," he replied. Making a club would be good because he could leave the academy and get stronger.
As they walked, they saw Sofia standing there. She looked at how close Mia and Riven were walking and frowned.
