Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!
Chapter 90: One Shot to Kill an S-Level Monster!
CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: ONE SHOT TO KILL AN S-LEVEL MONSTER!
At the order, all the prisoner soldiers on the wall dropped their guns and picked up their own favorite cold weapons. Then they jumped down from the city wall.
Owen, Schreiber, and Izumi each led their teams and joined the group of prisoner soldiers, fighting fiercely.
None of them called out their familiars. They just used their strong bodies to kill the monsters.
Soon, the soldiers were covered in blood—some from themselves, some from the monsters.
That blood made the soldiers more fierce, but it also made the monsters even more dangerous.
In front of the camp’s wall, human soldiers and the monster army kept fighting and clashing, like a meat grinder crushing monster bodies over and over.
Finally, a scream came from the back of the monster army.
That loud, terrible sound lasted for three whole seconds. The monsters stopped in their tracks, like robots that had lost power.
But soon, they started moving again and began to run away quickly.
In that moment of attack and retreat, Bell, standing on the wall, used his telescope and saw the leader of the monster army behind them. "Damn it, I knew it was you guys!"
With that, General Bell picked up the radio and gave the order right away: "Behind the beast tide, 2 kilometers away, at 3 o’clock direction. There’s a vampire hiding there. Use the holy ink bullets from Temple to shoot him! He drank the blood of an S-level monster, and we can’t let him evolve!"
On the lookout tower, two snipers got the order and immediately locked on to the target.
They carefully took out two bottles. The bullets inside were soaked in holy water and glowed silver.
"I’ll take the head, you go for the heart!" one sniper said, loaded the bullet, and held his breath, setting up his rifle.
His partner looked at him and then chose another angle. He also picked up his rifle and started aiming.
Through their scopes, they quickly saw the vampire that General Bell had described.
He was tall, with a graceful figure. His skin was pale, and his sharp fangs almost touched his lower lip. He was a mix of beauty and danger.
The two snipers swallowed hard, sighed in disappointment, and then both pulled the trigger.
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
Both of them counted at the same time and pulled the triggers together, firing their bullets.
Even with the silencer, the strong power of the bullets still made two loud noises, catching the attention of the monsters.
Two beams of holy light flew through the sky and hit the vampire straight in the face and chest.
But no one expected what happened next—the bullets stopped just ten centimeters away from the vampire’s body and couldn’t move any further.
Looking at the vampire, he was now smiling with blood on his lips, and his eyes were glowing with red energy, forming a shield in front of his chest.
"Damn it!" Both snipers cursed at the same time and tried to reload their guns for another shot.
But the vampire didn’t give them a chance.
The bullets were reflected back and exploded the snipers’ foreheads.
Seeing this, Bell’s eyes started to shake. "Oh no, that guy has evolved!"
Then, General Bell grabbed the speaker and shouted at Owen and the others: "Get out of there! The beast tide commander is a ranking S-level vampire!"
When Owen and the others heard this, they were stunned for a moment.
Bell understood their thoughts and quickly explained: "Don’t think the wrong way. It evolved after drinking the blood of an unknown S-level monster! Otherwise, it would have already wiped us out!"
Owen and the others heard this and realized the plan had failed.
They immediately sent out their familiars to protect everyone and help them retreat.
With the help of the familiars, the monster army couldn’t follow them anymore. They could only roar in anger as Owen and the others made it back to the city.
Back on the wall, Colonel Izumi quickly took off her clothes and said coldly: "Bell! You’re responsible for this bad decision! I now demand to take over your command!"
Bell heard Izumi’s complaint and sighed silently.
Just as he was about to take off his uniform and hand it over to Izumi, a small black dot appeared in the distance.
"Look! What is that?"
The soldiers on the wall all grabbed their telescopes and looked toward the sky.
Through the lenses, a young man was sitting on the back of a horned hawk, looking powerful like a god coming down from the heavens. It was Logan.
Logan had to clear a path and check on the survivors, which is why he arrived so late at CEM38.
But when he saw the huge army of monsters stretching out as far as the eye could see, his face turned serious.
"Since when have monsters learned to fight in formations and work together?" Logan muttered to himself, then took a photo of the scene with his phone.
He was about to send the picture to Natalia and General Philip when a call request popped up.
Logan saw the caller ID and recognized it was Owen. He quickly answered.
As soon as he picked up, Owen’s urgent voice came through: "Logan, run! There’s an S-level monster leading this beast tide!"
What?
An S-level monster?
One that can lead a beast tide?
Logan was shocked by the news.
Suddenly, a series of loud roars brought him back to his senses.
Under Logan’s feet, a large group of monsters spotted him and started charging up their attacks, firing at him and his horned hawk, Red Feather, from a distance.
Luckily, Logan and Red Feather both activated their [Refraction] skill at the same time. All the monster attacks hit only the shadows, not the real them.
Owen stood on the city wall, watching as Logan was completely surrounded by a storm of long-range attacks. He immediately got worried and shouted: "Damn it! Everyone, come with me, we’re going to help him!"
Colonel Schreiber and Colonel Izumi both saw Logan being attacked from all sides and jumped down from the wall together.
Izumi ran while muttering under her breath: "Idiot, always causing trouble. Who told him to fly around so proudly like that?"
But before Owen and the others even landed, Logan and Red Feather suddenly appeared again in the sky.
With confused looks on their faces, Owen and the others watched as Logan, like a god, stretched out his hand from above.
A huge space rift cut through the monster army. The monsters that had just been firing at Logan disappeared all at once.
"Wow! What the hell did he just do?" Schreiber’s eyes widened in shock, completely confused by what just happened.
"Is this kid doing magic?" Izumi stood frozen, completely stunned by what she just saw.
Owen, standing in front of them, looked full of excitement. "Great job! He really is the future star of Twilight City!"
General Bell, standing on the city wall, silently watched Logan, his eyes full of admiration.
As an experienced warrior, he immediately recognized what Logan had just done.
So, General Bell grabbed the speaker right away and warned: "Tell that young man that the S-level vampire is hiding among the monsters, located at 3 o’clock direction, 2 kilometers away from the gate. Tell him to get away from the monster leader as soon as possible—it’s very dangerous!"
Owen heard General Bell’s warning and suddenly realized the battle wasn’t over yet. He quickly picked up his phone and sent a message to Logan.
Logan had planned to keep using his War Domain to finish off all the monsters under him.
At that moment, Owen’s message came through.
Logan looked in the direction mentioned in the message and immediately spotted the target:
[Name: Daphne]
[Race: Fallen Blood Elf]
[Stats: Health, Darkness]
[Ranking: S-level 1 Star]
[Stages: Master 5 Stars]
[Talents: Telekinesis, Blood Control]
[Skills: Defensive Field, Life Drain, Parasitic Blood Worms, Blood Explosion, Blood Arrow]
[Stats: Power 385, Stamina 395, Mind 515, Agility 383]
...
While Logan was checking out the fallen blood elf, the creature was also watching him.
It seemed to sense Logan’s strength, and the fallen blood elf actually turned around and tried to run.
Seeing this, Logan was shocked.
Even Owen, Schreiber, and Izumi, who were far away, were all stunned.
Especially Izumi, who was so angry she smacked her thigh and muttered in frustration: "That vampire could have caught Logan! Why did she run away?"
Schreiber, who was nearby, heard Izumi’s nonsense and slapped him across the face. "Maybe that vampire is hurt," he said. "Didn’t you see her take two sniper bullets just now?"
Owen colonel quietly watched the fallen blood elf disappear into the distance, not knowing what to say.
In the past few days, Logan had already shocked him more than once, and he had started to get used to it.
But just when Owen thought it was over, something unexpected happened again.
Logan stood on the back of his horned hawk, Red Feather, his eyes locked on the fallen blood elf.
"Red Feather, get within 500 meters of her!"
Red Feather let out a loud cry and quickly flew forward.
At the moment Logan closed the distance, a space rift suddenly appeared under the blood elf’s feet.
"Freeze her!" Logan shouted.
In an instant, a deep blue arm shot out of the rift and grabbed the blood elf by the ankle.
A huge force, along with freezing cold, instantly hit her body, almost freezing her in place.
At first, the blood elf’s eyes showed fear, but she quickly regained her composure.
Her eyes flashed red again, and a strong telekinetic force broke free from the blue hand’s grip.
But before she could move forward, another space rift appeared behind her.
This time, it was a giant fist from the Titan Giant Ape, slamming into the back of her head.
In a panic, the blood elf released a thick cloud of blood mist, which made her move faster and escape the attack.
Logan saw this and let out a cold laugh. "Got you."
As he spoke, a long sword suddenly appeared in front of the blood elf and cut off her head.
At the moment her head hit the ground, her eyes were still full of disbelief.
Because at that moment, one of Logan’s hands was inside the space rift, and the other was 500 meters away, holding the sword that had just cut off the blood elf’s head.
