Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train
Chapter 629 - 310: Global Target_3
CHAPTER 629: CHAPTER 310: GLOBAL TARGET_3
Fortunately, the Infinity has the Divine Artifact, the Heterogeneous Rubik’s Cube; otherwise, once more people got on the train, it would be impossible to control the internal changes.
To avoid this situation, Dragon Mountain No.1 has assigned a carriage leader and deputy carriage leader to each compartment. All of these individuals were selected by Shi Deyuan and Ning Jing based on their powerful superpowers and combat abilities. They are responsible not only for managing daily activities and combat sequences but also for overseeing each other. If a problem arises, they seal off the compartment!
...
In the distant Jiazhou City, which has long been shrouded by Star Abyss No.3, the rooftops of the dark city are crowded with zombie crows, packed densely with parasitic worms filling their gray-white eyes.
After the apocalypse, the abandoned city is desolate, cramped, filled with a foul odor, and shadows hide in the darkness. All the roads out of the city, rail tracks, and highways are lined with rotten corpses of survivors whose very bones have been consumed by the dark.
Caw caw, caw caw
At this moment, the zombie crows suddenly began to become restless and gradually frenzied, causing a chain reaction. Flocks of cawing echoed throughout Jiazhou City, with countless zombie crows frantically flying about like clusters of black clouds.
The reason for this frenzy is that above the distant high-altitude corridor in Jiazhou, an airborne giant shadow is slowly descending from the Airport, blocking all the starlight, plunging Jiazhou City into absolute darkness, even the city’s outline disappears.
The hovering giant shadow sends tremoring sound waves through the ground air, dust across the streets rises like a sandstorm burying the city!
...
Federal Star City, formerly the first technology city of Dragon Country, known as the Technology Capital; however, it is now the seat of the Old Federation Government, renamed Dawn City, meaning the last glimpse of human civilization.
The dark city buildings, like a dense steel jungle, radiate out with the Double Star Tower as the skyline’s center point. Above the city inner ring is a grand and magnificent City Ring, the former rapid magnetic levitation track of Star City, a scenic landmark that could be seen even in near-earth orbit this azure ring of the city.
Yet after the Apocalypse Day, the Star City Ring has completely gone dark, with 1/3 of the route collapsed, leaving only a shattered city megastructure, telling of the last glow of human technology.
In stark contrast is the non-high-rise areas, lit by countless flashing electronic neon lights, and every street and alley is filled with all kinds of apocalypse vehicles flocking to Dawn City.
The Federation Parliament has issued a ban prohibiting any light above 100 meters.
Because the height of the Dawn No.1 defense wall is 100 meters!
Along the city outskirts of Dawn City, a massive wall rises from the ground, encasing the entire city district with towering might, the construction still unfinished, with numerous automated cranes, transport robots, and tens of thousands of construction workers engaged in dangerous work, continuing 24 hours a day, constructing the 196-kilometer-long No.1 wall, dotted by countless signal lights glowing like beacons, the steel defense line of the apocalypse!
Additionally, in the Inner City area where the Double Star Tower is located, there is also a built Star Port No.2 wall, the final barrier for the Dawn No.1 Underground City and the Federal Starship Port, also serving as the division from the populous Outer City.
Outside the 18-kilometer 2 No. wall, all Dawn City regions are uniformly called
Old District!
The former Technology Capital now resembles a cyber black market beneath wasteland, housing at least over 300,000 people, cramped, filthy, crowded, as dark as night, oppressed under a heavy tidal canopy.
With clouds and drizzle overhead, a strange smell pervades the old alleys, the vulgar advertisements’ neon signs leaning crookedly, the broken light bulbs flickering.
Silence in the alley, only the rain condenses on the electric wires, dripping onto the tin trash can making a tick-tock ~ tick-tock sound.
Click~
A lighter flickering, a young man in a black leather jacket and hoodie stands in a shadowy corner, firelight flickers, illuminating a slightly young face.
Shortly after, footsteps are heard from nearby. The young man stamps out his cigarette butt and adjusts the brim of his hood.
As the footsteps approached, a tall figure with a grim countenance appeared, dressed in an alternative studded jacket, complimented by an exaggerated mohawk hairstyle with a gang-style flair.
The man came to the corner, glanced back to ensure no one was tailing, then rasped towards the young man in the corner.
"Got what I wanted?"
The young man’s eyes flickered; he pulled an item from his leather jacket, a section of well-crafted mechanical prosthetics; yet, from the wear it seemed somewhat old, a graffiti of a purple-red cat head sprayed on the forearm, possibly a mark of some mechanical modification alliance.
The man saw it and his eyes shone, he immediately took the prosthetic, removed his existing artificial left arm, and skillfully attached it to the joint docking port on his left arm.
Crack~
The servo system activates, the man slowly clenches his fist, the wrist and knuckles’ gears emit slight whirring sounds. He tightens his fist, blue electric light flashes across the knuckles.
Seeing the surging electromagnetic glow, there’s excitement in the man’s eyes.
"Nice."
After speaking, he coldly glanced at the young man, retrieved a mini storage device from his pocket and tossed it to the youth: "Now people are anxious in the city, not only the patrol squad, even the garrison and those from the Angel Project are mobilized, I won’t be able to help with this anymore."
