Qin Feng’s face was like iron. “We endure.”

The attacks came again, blades, spikes, and beams. Without powers, their fight was clumsy, but their will was strong. They threw rocks, swung weapons torn from the constructs, and blocked with shields of metal scraps.

Up above, the entities marveled.

“She refuses to break.”

“She drags them with her.”

“She is stubborn. Perhaps that is her true strength.”

One laughed. “I bid three minutes more.”

Another said, “No, I say five.”

Another, deeper voice said, “They will not last even seven.”

But as the minutes passed, they still stood. Bruised, bleeding, but standing.

At the seventh minute, Deimos’s voice broke the silence. “It is strange. Too strange. The girl is calm. Too calm. As if she is waiting for something.”

The others frowned. “Waiting? What do you sense, Deimos?”

He paused. Then he said slowly, “She is stalling. Perhaps… she will receive help. We should act now.”

The entities gasped.

“Then strike harder!”

“End them before the help arrives!”

And with those words, the restrictions lifted. Their powers returned, but the attacks grew sharper, faster, heavier.

Jake roared as blood exploded from his hands again. “Finally!”

Xi Ping shot upward, fire blazing in her palms. “Hold the line!”

Qin Feng’s shield flared bright once more. He slammed his fist to the ground, creating a shockwave. “We fight back!”

Su Jiyai’s scythe burned white-hot in her grip. Her voice cut through the chaos. “Stay together!”

The hall shook with the fury of their fight. Blades shattered. Fire roared. Blood cannons blasted through the constructs. They fought like people with nothing to lose.

The entity voices grew louder, overlapping, impatient.

But then…

At the tenth minute, a blinding light burst into the hall. It wrapped around Su Jiyai, Qin Feng, Jake, and Xi Ping. The power lifted them up and threw them back.

Back to their world.

They landed on the ground, rolling hard. Dust flew up.

Su Jiyai lay flat on the floor, gasping, drained. “We… we made it…”

Jake dropped beside her, laughing weakly. “I thought we were dead.”

Xi Ping sat up. “So did I.”

Qin Feng looked at the three of them, his chest rising and falling. For the first time, his calm face softened. “We returned. That is all that matters.”

Su Jiyai lay on the floor for a long moment, breathing hard. Her chest rose and fell like she had just run ten miles. Then her eyes suddenly narrowed, and she clenched her fists tight.

In her mind, her voice was sharp.

‘System! What kind of unprofessionalism was that? You are supposed to protect me, not throw me straight in front of enemies that strong!’

The system answered right away, its tone nervous.

[Host, I apologize. I already tried my best to stop it, but still… There was a one percent chance of failure. That one percent came true. Because of that, you, Qin Feng, Xi Ping, and Jake were trapped inside that dimension.]

Su Jiyai’s temples throbbed with pain. She squeezed her eyes shut. ‘One percent? You call that an excuse?’

The system was silent.

She breathed slowly, trying to keep her anger under control. If she exploded more, she would lose focus and might make a mistake. After a while, she spoke again, her tone calmer but icy.

‘Fine. I will not waste my strength yelling at you. But listen carefully. I want compensation. Connect me to the admin right now, otherwise I will cut off our partnership completely.’

The system panicked.

[Host, please calm down! I… I wanted to, but the admin refuses to meet you. He said the time is not right.]

Her eyes snapped open, glowing faintly red in the dim light. ‘Refuses?’ She almost laughed, but her voice was filled with fire. ‘Then he can afford this entire world being destroyed? Tell him that!’

Then she shouted in her heart, loud and final. ‘I want to terminate this partnership right now!’

The system froze.

[Host, no! Please do not do this! Its voice trembled. If you end this connection, all the support, all the upgrades, all the protection will be gone. You will be completely alone against everything. Please, I beg you, reconsider!]

But Su Jiyai had enough of the system’s excuses. Her teeth clenched.

‘I risk my life every single day. And now, not only did you fail to protect me, but even the admin refused to meet me after such a huge incident? You expect me to just keep following quietly? Never again.’

Just then, a cold mechanical sound appeared inside her head.

‘I will meet you.’

It was the admin.

The system gasped.

[ A-Admin?]

The admin’s voice was calm but carried weight.

[Yes. I am ready to have a talk. But for that, Su Jiyai, you must be alone.]

Su Jiyai snorted inside. ‘Alone? Fine. But don’t expect me to bow my head.’

When she opened her eyes, she noticed Xi Ping was staring at her with a worried expression. So were Jake and Qin Feng. All three of them had been watching her face while she argued in her mind.

Su Jiyai touched her cheek in confusion. “What? Why are you looking at me like that?”

Qin Feng leaned closer, his deep voice steady. “Your expression kept changing. Who were you speaking to?”

Jake tilted his head. “Yeah, you looked angry. Really angry. And then calm again. What’s going on?”

Xi Ping’s tone was quiet but sharp. “Those entities… who are they? If they can do this, then if you were forced to face them alone… You would die.”

For a moment, Su Jiyai stayed silent. Then she gave a short chuckle, though her eyes were still hard. “They are my enemies. Old enemies. And I need to destroy them completely, or they will never stop coming.”

Xi Ping’s brows furrowed. Her voice grew grim. “That will not be easy. They are beyond us. You saw how they toyed with us.”

Su Jiyai gave a calm smile, but it did not reach her eyes. “Difficult or not, I will try. You don’t need to worry about me.”

The three of them exchanged glances. Their faces showed worry, but none of them argued.

Instead, Jake suddenly spoke, his fangs showing as he smirked. “Then maybe there’s another way. What if there was a bridge? If they can attack you from their dimension, then why can’t you attack them back? Why should we always wait to be hit?”

Su Jiyai froze. His words rang in her mind like a bell. She had never thought of it that way.

She whispered, half to herself, “If they can reach me… then maybe I can reach them too…”

Her hand tightened around her scythe. Until now, she always imagined them as if they were outside a painting, watching her from another page. Something unreachable. But Jake’s words pulled away the fog. Maybe it wasn’t impossible.

She had been overthinking.

Her eyes grew sharp. ‘System,’ she asked in her mind, ‘is it possible for me to enter their dimension? To step into where they are?’

The system quickly answered, nervous again.

[Host, those dimensions are very dangerous. Filled with countless entities, not just the ones you faced. If you go there, you may not come back. That is why I never recommended you to even think about it.]

Su Jiyai’s eyes narrowed. She gave no reply at first. She just stared at the ground, deep in thought.

Jake broke the silence. “Well? Can you?”

Su Jiyai looked up slowly. “Those dimensions are dangerous. Too many entities for me to handle.”

Xi Ping crossed her arms. “That makes sense. We could barely handle their shadows here. If you go into their home ground, it might be worse.”

But Qin Feng, who had been silent, finally spoke. His deep voice was calm, but every word was steady as a stone. “Dangerous or not, it is still a path. If they are the hunters, then we must become hunters too. Otherwise, they will never stop chasing us.”

Su Jiyai stared at him. For a second, something inside her chest softened. Then she gave a small laugh. “You are right. But not now. First, we need to recover.”

All of them nodded when Su Jiyai spoke. She stretched out her hands and said firmly, “Hold my hand. We are leaving this place.”

Soon all of them held Su Jiyai’s hand.

“System,” Su Jiyai commanded in her heart, “take us to Hope Base.”

The world shifted at once. A flash of white light swallowed them, and the next second, the air around them changed. The heavy pressure of the other dimension vanished, and the familiar walls of Hope Base appeared in front of them.

The moment they landed, Jake sighed in relief and threw himself to the ground. “Finally home! I swear, I never want to see creepy shadow monsters ever again.”

Jake and Xi Ping both disappeared down the halls.

Su Jiyai and Qin Feng exchanged a glance, then silently went to their own rooms.
