CHAPTER 595: CHAPTER 595: END OF DONG SHIN-2

For the first time, he realized he was truly cornered.

Wang Qingshan leaned forward, his eyes sharp as knives.

"You will call an alliance meeting. You will confess every crime, every bribe. You will tell them with your own mouth how you stained the military’s honor. And then you will be expelled."

His voice was merciless. "Every coin you took will be given back to the victims. And you... you can forget about being a soldier in this lifetime."

Dong Shin’s face twisted with rage. "Commander! That is too much!"

Wang Qingshan’s voice thundered, "Too much? Look at the lives destroyed by your greed! Do you think being a soldier is a game? Do you think the military exists so you can fill your own pockets?"

Dong Shin’s breathing grew heavy. His eyes burned with fury. But deep down, he knew he was powerless.

Dong Shin forced himself to speak, lowering his voice. "Commander... you raised me. You guided me. Please... show me some mercy. I swear I will never make such mistakes again."

But Wang Qingshan only looked at him with eyes full of heartbreak.

"Mercy? Do you know how many times Liu Feng warned me about you? Do you know how many times she told me you were greedy, scheming, corrupt? But I ignored her. I told myself you were worth saving. That you had a future. And now? Now I see I was a fool."

His voice cracked slightly, but his eyes stayed hard.

"If I could go back in time, I would never trust you. Never."

The silence that followed was suffocating.

Finally, Wang Qingshan pointed at the door. His voice was cold as ice.

"Get out. Leave right now. If you dare appear in front of me again, I will make sure you don’t live to see the next day."

Dong Shin’s face twisted with humiliation and fury. His nails dug into his palms until blood dripped.

He turned sharply, his steps heavy, and walked toward the door.

But just before leaving, he stopped. He turned his head slightly, his voice bitter and trembling.

"...I am still thankful, Commander. Thankful that you raised me."

Then, without another word, he walked out.

The heavy door slammed shut behind him, leaving Wang Qingshan alone in the office.

Wang Qingshan sat back down slowly, his hands gripping the edge of the desk. His chest ached with rage and regret.

He closed his eyes. "Dong Shin... I should never have trusted you."

The room was silent after Dong Shin left. Only the ticking of the clock could be heard.

Wang Qingshan sat still for a long moment, his eyes full of disappointment.

Then, slowly, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. His hands were steady, but his heart was heavy.

He dialed a number. After a few rings, a calm voice answered. "Commander Wang?"

"Liu Feng," Wang Qingshan said, his voice low and serious. "Come to my office. Right now."

"Yes, sir," Liu Feng replied without hesitation.

A few minutes later, the sound of quick footsteps echoed in the corridor. The door opened, and Liu Feng walked in, straightening his uniform. He saluted. "Commander, you called for me?"

Wang Qingshan looked at him with unreadable eyes. "Sit down."

Liu Feng sat, confusion flickering across his face. "What happened? You sound... different."

Wang Qingshan leaned back in his chair, his voice calm but sharp.

"Dong Shin has completely cheated the military. He took bribes, corrupted the alliance, and destroyed lives. I will no longer protect him. From now on, I will investigate you as well. Once you are proven innocent, it will be enough to make you the next CMC."

Liu Feng froze. For a second, he thought he had misheard. His eyes widened. "What? CMC? Me?"

"Yes. You," Wang Qingshan said firmly.

Liu Feng’s mouth opened, but no words came out. His mind was spinning. For the past five years, he had worked tirelessly, trying to climb higher.

His goal had always been the CMC position, but he thought it would take at least another decade. Because of Dong Shin’s influence, he never even had a chance to aim for it.

And now, suddenly, the opportunity was right in front of him.

He swallowed hard. "Commander... are you serious?"

Wang Qingshan’s gaze was heavy. "I don’t joke about these matters."

Liu Feng’s heart thumped in his chest. He almost smiled, but something held him back.

He frowned and asked, "What exactly did Dong Shin do this time? I’ve known he was cunning, but for you to give up on him completely... it must be something huge."

Wang Qingshan waved his hand tiredly. "I cannot say more. It is already decided. You don’t need to know the details right now."

Liu Feng hesitated. He wanted to press further, but the coldness in Wang Qingshan’s eyes stopped him. He stood up slowly. "Understood, Commander. I won’t ask further."

He turned to leave. But before he could step out, Wang Qingshan’s voice stopped him. "Wait."

Liu Feng turned back quickly. "Yes, sir?"

Wang Qingshan opened a drawer, took out a heavy red stamp, and placed it on the desk. He pushed it forward. "For now, keep this. Once you are proven innocent, you can start to use it."

Liu Feng’s eyes widened in shock. He stared at the stamp like it was a treasure. "Commander... this is..."

"This stamp holds half of my power," Wang Qingshan said bluntly. "Use it wisely. Don’t disappoint me."

Liu Feng’s hand trembled as he picked it up. His voice was shaky. "I... I will not disappoint you."

He saluted again, then left the office, his heart pounding wildly.

Back in his own office, Liu Feng sat at his desk, the stamp in front of him. He kept staring at it, his fingers brushing its surface. "So it’s true," he whispered. "I might really become CMC."

He couldn’t calm down. His chest was filled with excitement, mixed with disbelief.

After pacing back and forth, he finally called for one of his trusted subordinates. "Investigate Dong Shin’s corruption. Find out everything you can. I want the full truth."

The subordinate saluted and rushed off.

Hours later, the report came back. Liu Feng quickly read through it, and his eyes widened in shock.

"So it’s true... Dong Shin’s every black deed was recorded. And the ones who did it... were his own three most trusted men? Fang Qian, Hao Chen, and Xie Liang? But... they were Boss Su’s people all along?"

He leaned back in his chair, stunned. "So Boss Su planted spies right under his nose... and he never knew. No wonder the evidence is so perfect."

He closed the file and let out a deep laugh. "Then Dong Shin is truly finished. He’ll never come back from this."

For the next few days, Liu Feng felt thrilled. Finally, he could breathe freely.

He could do things his own way, without Dong Shin’s shadow blocking him. He even allowed himself to dream about how he would change the military.

"Commander Wang is too rigid. Dong Shin was too sly. I’ll be the one who finds balance. I’ll do things differently."

Meanwhile, Dong Shin stormed into his own office. His face was twisted with rage.

The moment the door shut behind him, he grabbed a vase and hurled it against the wall. It shattered into pieces. "Damn it! Damn it all!"

He slammed his fist onto the desk, making everything on it shake. "Fang Qian! Hao Chen! Xie Liang! You dogs! You betrayed me!"

He called for his subordinates. When they entered, they could see his fury. His eyes were red, his hands shaking. "Find them!" he shouted.

"Find those three traitors! Bring them to me, dead or alive!"

The subordinates shivered. One of them dared to speak in a trembling voice. "Commander... those three... they’ve already escaped. We cannot find them."

"What?" Dong Shin roared. He slammed his hand against the wall, cracking the plaster.

"Escaped? You’re useless! All of you are useless! If you don’t bring them back, then don’t bother serving me anymore! Get out! All of you!"

The men saluted quickly, their faces pale. They ran out, their hearts beating wildly. Once far away, one of them whispered to another,

"We need to leave him. He’s finished. If we stay, we’ll sink with him."

The other nodded quickly. "Yes. He’s already lost everything. Better to run while we can."

Back inside, Dong Shin collapsed into his chair. His chest heaved as he tried to calm down.

"Damn it... I really underestimated Boss Su. She sent spies right into my team. No wonder everything came out. No wonder Wang Qingshan threw me away."

His fists clenched tight. "But do they think I’m done? Do they think I have no backup plan?"

He smirked coldly and picked up his phone. He dialed a number. After a short conversation, he ended the call and leaned back.

"They really think I didn’t prepare? I already made plans. If I couldn’t stay in the central region, I would move north. There are bases there that need me."
