Chapter 596: Chapter 596: End Of Dong Shin-3
He also thought about how, once he moved there, he would make sure to slowly gain power and then return to the central region. Once back in the central region, he would take revenge.
He would rebuild his forces, regain the trust of the people who once followed him, and then crush Boss Su and everyone who laughed at his downfall.
The method alone was enough to make his blood boil with excitement. He could almost picture it already.
“At that time, in the North, there will be no one strong enough to suppress me,” he muttered to himself with a grin.
“I will scheme, I will recruit, I will rise. And when I return, they will kneel. Wang Qingshan, Boss Su, Liu Feng… all of them will regret it.”
Dong Shin laughed loudly inside his office, the sound echoing off the walls. He poured himself a drink, swallowed it in one gulp, and slammed the cup down.
“Yes. That is the plan. I only need to leave quietly before those dogs come after me.”
He decided to wait for his subordinate to return with the traitors.
However, he waited and waited, but his subordinate still didn’t return. At last, Dong Shin realized what was going on, and he was furious. He tried to call his other subordinates, but realized that they had run away too.
Truly, he was furious.
He had only recruited those people who were ambitious, and their ambition didn’t stop at the point when they got to know that their boss was going to be kicked out, and hence they decided to use this opportunity to run away from their boss, which was a very brilliant move from his perspective; after all, he too loved ambitious people.
However, now he realized that there was a big flaw in his recruitment, and he had recruited only those scheming and ambitious people and not loyal ones.
Now, he could only do everything on his own.
He decided that it would be better to leave the military base before his other enemies started to take revenge against him.
With that thought, he began preparing.
He packed his necessary items, things he considered important for survival and rebuilding: food, weapons, coins, and confidential documents. He even hired a space superhuman to store everything for him.
“You will take care of all my belongings,” Dong Shin ordered. “If anyone comes searching, they will find nothing. All of it will be inside your space, hidden from the world.”
The space superhuman bowed slightly. “Understood, Commander.”
Dong Shin looked satisfied. He felt smarter than anyone else. While they thought he would stay and beg for forgiveness, he was already planning to vanish and start again.
Finally, when everything was ready, he set out from the military base with the space superhuman at his side.
“They won’t expect this,” Dong Shin muttered as he sat inside the car. “They think I will stay and grovel. But I, Dong Shin, never bow. They will never imagine I left it all behind.”
The car drove fast through the ruined streets. The journey was long, but Dong Shin was calm. He leaned back and closed his eyes, smiling. He thought about how, in just a few months, he would have a new force in the North.
But halfway through the journey, disaster struck.
A loud roar came from ahead. The ground trembled. When they turned the corner, they saw a massive wave of zombies flooding the street. Hundreds of them, all rushing like an unstoppable tide.
“Zombies!” Dong Shin shouted, his face turning pale.
The space superhuman quickly stopped the car. “Commander, we cannot pass through. We must fight!”
Dong Shin gritted his teeth and jumped out. “Fine! Kill them all!”
2 hours later.
Dong Shin leaned back in the car seat, his body tired after fighting through the zombie horde. His clothes were stained with blood and dirt, and his chest heaved as he tried to catch his breath.
But just as he was about to rest, a sudden cold touch brushed against his neck. His eyes snapped open, and he froze.
A sharp knife was pressed tightly against his skin. The one holding it was none other than the space superhuman he had hired.
Dong Shin’s heart skipped a beat. His voice trembled, “What… what are you doing? Put that knife down! Are you crazy?”
The space superhuman’s eyes were filled with hatred, and his lips curled into a mocking smile. “Crazy? Maybe. Or maybe I just waited too long for this moment.”
Dong Shin frowned deeply, trying to keep calm. “What do you mean? Do you even realize who I am? I am Dong Shin, Commander of…”
“Shut up!” the space superhuman cut him off, his tone sharp. “You are not a commander anymore. You are just a fallen dog who has lost everything.”
Dong Shin’s face turned red with anger. “You dare talk to me like that? Move away if you don’t want to die. I will not forgive this!” He clenched his fist under his sleeve, slowly trying to gather his power.
But suddenly, his whole body stiffened. His veins burned painfully, and no matter how much he tried, he couldn’t summon even a spark of his ability.
Shock covered his face. “W…what is this? Why… why can’t I use my power?”
The space superhuman chuckled coldly, leaning closer with the knife pressing harder against Dong Shin’s neck.
“Don’t waste your energy. You already ate my food earlier, didn’t you? That food was poisoned. Now your body is paralyzed. If you try to force your power, it will only hurt you inside.”
Dong Shin’s eyes widened in horror. He gritted his teeth. “You… you dared to poison me?”
The space superhuman sneered. “Yes. And it worked better than I expected. Look at you now, helpless like a worm.”
Dong Shin was furious. His voice shook as he shouted,
“Why? Why are you doing this? I have no enmity with you. I even paid you a great sum to help me. So why betray me now?”
The space superhuman’s expression turned cold, and his voice carried a deep hatred.
“No enmity? Don’t act innocent, Dong Shin. You know very well you are not the righteous man you pretend to be. Your black deeds have already been exposed to the whole military. Everyone knows you are corrupt and rotten.”
Dong Shin was still confused. His eyebrows furrowed.
“You… you talk like you know me personally. Who are you? Tell me who you are!”
The man’s hand holding the knife trembled slightly, his jaw tightening. “Fine. I will tell you. I am from a base called Satellite X.”
Dong Shin blinked, trying to recall. “Satellite X? That base where… where they allowed women to be sold?”
“Yes!” the space superhuman shouted, his eyes burning with anger.
“And do you remember what you did back then? My sister… my sister was one of the women who got sold there. I came to you for justice. I begged you! I pleaded that you do something. And what did you do? You laughed. You said Satellite X would become part of the alliance. You shook hands with those monsters and let them continue. Because of your decision, my sister was lost forever. Because of you, I lost my only family!”
Dong Shin’s lips trembled. His mind raced back to those times. He remembered. A man had indeed come to him, crying, begging for help.
At that time, Dong Shin brushed him off, saying there were bigger profits in an alliance than saving one woman. His face paled.
“You… you were that man?”
“Yes,” the space superhuman said, his voice breaking with fury and sorrow.
“At that time, you almost killed me indirectly. I swore that one day, if the chance came, I would take revenge. And now that day has come. Today, you will pay with your life!”
Dong Shin shook his head desperately. “Wait, wait! Listen to me! I… I can make up for it. I can give you compensation. Gold, coins, food, power… whatever you want, I can give!”
But the space superhuman only laughed coldly.
“Compensation? Do you think I care about your filthy money? Do you think food and coins can bring my sister back? Do you think I want your charity after what you did? You disgust me.”
Dong Shin’s eyes widened in panic. His voice grew louder.
“No, no, you don’t understand. I can make you rich! You can have everything you want. I can even make you powerful in the North! Just let me go, and I swear, I will…”
The man interrupted him, his voice filled with disdain.
“You still don’t get it, do you? I already have everything of yours. The moment you handed over all your items for me to keep in my space, they became mine. Every bag of food, every weapon, every resource you own is already in my possession. Even if you wanted to give me something now, you have nothing left to give.”
Dong Shin’s face turned pale as a sheet. His lips quivered. “You… you planned this from the beginning?”
