Chapter 461 - 65 Treasure Land and Armory_2
CHAPTER 461: CHAPTER 65 TREASURE LAND AND ARMORY_2
Then, an arched doorway opened directly in the silver-white metallic wall. Lin Haifeng waved at Wen Yu and the others and took the lead, stepping inside.
After entering the silver-white metallic structure, a long corridor came into view. The whole corridor was bright and tidy, with rooms on either side.
"Each room is a treasure land! Of course, you can’t enter if you don’t have the authority."
Seeing Wen Yu curiously touching things, Lin Haifeng chuckled and explained, then added, "These are all small-scale treasure lands. The rewards are not abundant, but they are permanent. Over the long term, the total rewards are quite substantial. However, we didn’t come here today just to see these ’small ones.’ The big ones are upstairs; follow me."
With that, Lin Haifeng led the way deeper into the corridor.
At the far end of the corridor, a staircase was concealed in a corner. Lin Haifeng led the group up the stairs directly to the third floor.
Wen Yu quickly grasped the building’s layout: it had four stories in total. The Super Treasure Land was on the top floor, with the other treasure lands arranged below in descending order of importance. The third floor housed ten large treasure lands.
Lin Haifeng led Wen Yu and the others directly into Room 305. The moment the door opened, a massive, silver-white vortex immediately caught Wen Yu’s eye.
"This is Large Treasure Land Number 5. Let’s go, take a look inside."
After speaking, Lin Haifeng was the first to step into the vortex.
A familiar wave of dizziness washed over Wen Yu, then quickly faded. He stabilized himself and looked around.
The treasure land was vast and empty, a huge white space. In its center stood a silver-white stone pillar, identical in form to an Exchange Stone Pillar, but different in color.
Before Wen Yu could get a better look, a notification sound echoed directly in his mind.
"Welcome to Large Treasure Land Number 5, subordinate to the Eternal Sky City. Please note: Treasure lands under the Eternal Sky City differ from external ones; this treasure land does not have a Treasure Land Protector."
"This treasure land spans 10,000 square kilometers and is currently inactive. To learn the activation method, please touch the Exchange Stone Pillar in the center."
The notification sound vanished after these two brief sentences.
Wen Yu glanced at Lin Haifeng in confusion. Lin Haifeng merely smiled, then gestured towards the silver-white Exchange Stone Pillar in the center, inviting Wen Yu to proceed.
When Wen Yu touched the Exchange Stone Pillar, the treasure land’s functions and usage methods were fully revealed to him.
Wen Yu first glanced at Lin Haifeng, then surveyed the entire treasure land. With an impassive expression, he commented, "This treasure land is quite good!"
This treasure land... how should I put it... It’s unlike any I’ve seen before. The rules are quite interesting.
The entire 10,000 square kilometer area served as this treasure land’s battlefield. It could house one external Demon Realm’s Gate, designated by the treasure land’s owner, from any location.
That’s right, this treasure land could acknowledge an owner!
Once it acknowledged an owner, that owner would effectively become the Treasure Land Protector, though their authority wouldn’t be as extensive as an actual Protector’s.
The Demon Fiends emerging from the Demon Realm’s Gate would then become the gatekeepers of this treasure land.
This treasure land could be opened once every three days. The number of Demon Fiends inside depended entirely on the output from the Demon Realm’s Gate—it might contain none, or it could be teeming with them!
Then, each challenge was to be undertaken by a single professionist. Upon completion, the challenger would receive the usual magic crystal points. Additionally, the treasure land would provide extra rewards based on the number of Demon Fiends.
This was tantamount to an additional source of income. Moreover, the authority to house an external Demon Realm’s Gate was significantly beneficial, potentially capable of completely altering a region’s strategic situation!
Hearing Wen Yu’s "quite good" assessment, Lin Haifeng smiled and asked, "Just ’quite good’? An additional source of income, plus the ability to house a Demon Realm’s Gate... I hear you’re currently establishing a defensive perimeter in Las Vegas. If you could house the Demon Realm’s Gate closest to Las Vegas, it would undoubtedly ease your burden significantly, wouldn’t it?"
Wen Yu frowned, staring at Lin Haifeng for a long moment before asking uncertainly, "What do you mean?"
"It’s a gift for you. Do you want it?"
Wen Yu remained silent for a long moment, then uttered a single word: "Conditions."
If Lin Haifeng is offering this treasure land, he definitely won’t give it away for free. Strictly speaking, its value is entirely determined by the rewards yielded after a challenge. This treasure land could be extremely valuable, or it could be worthless. I’m not desperate for it, but if the conditions are low, it wouldn’t hurt to take it. If the conditions are too high, though, I don’t see the point.
Instead of stating the conditions directly, Lin Haifeng said to Wen Yu, "Let’s go look at the armory first. Then I’ll discuss the deal. You can weigh it for yourself."
With that, Lin Haifeng headed directly for the treasure land’s exit.
The armory was even farther. Due to Qin Shiyuan’s low strength, Wen Yu had Qin Tian and Qin Shiyuan return to the central control tower to wait. He, Lin Haifeng, and the others then proceeded at full speed to the military district of Eternal Sky City.
The military district, as the military termed it, was actually a complex of even larger ’iron coffins’! Most of the buildings in Eternal Sky City looked the same—large, square iron boxes, differing only in size. This included the building housing the treasure lands. The only distinct structure was perhaps the central control tower.
Walking past these ’large iron boxes,’ Lin Haifeng explained to the group: "This is the Magic Puppet Production Base."
"That’s the Exoskeleton Armor Production Base."
"That’s the Mechanical Soldier Production Base."
"Qin Tian’s Flesh Furnace is in that building, and next to it is the Biological War Beast Breeding Lab."
"That one over there is the subject of our deal."
Lin Haifeng pointed to an unremarkable iron box in front of them and said to Wen Yu.
Just like before, Lin Haifeng placed his right hand on the exterior wall of the structure, and an arched doorway immediately formed.
As the archway formed, a foul, fishy odor assailed them, causing Wen Yu to frown instantly.
Lin Haifeng, however, seemed unfazed. He explained to Wen Yu, "The production technology used in here is related to biological genetics. The smell is indeed quite foul, but you’ll get used to it."
Saying this, Lin Haifeng, enduring the stench, stepped directly into the room.
Inside, the room was filled with dark, cylindrical containers. Wen Yu wasn’t sure of their specific purpose, and Lin Haifeng showed no intention of explaining.
Although the room was brightly lit, Wen Yu felt an inexplicable chill.
After a moment of thought, Wen Yu’s brow furrowed. This chilling sensation... it should be a powerful expert’s perception of danger... This room, or rather, what’s produced in this room, poses a certain degree of danger even to me! The things produced in this room seem to be quite formidable...
In the brightly lit, silent corridor, the group’s footsteps echoed distantly. The THUD, THUD sound lent an eerie atmosphere to the entire room.
"Why does this place feel so eerie? It’s like there are ghosts here..." Wang Fucai muttered under his breath, tightening his collar.
"I feel the same way," Arthur chimed in. "And besides the eeriness, I also sense a bit of danger..."
"This place is indeed a bit eerie," Lin Haifeng said, having heard the old Taoist’s words. He replied without turning his head, "I’m not sure of the exact reason. I suppose it’s related to past events here. According to our inspections and scans, it seems many creatures died in this room. I also felt that cold, eerie sensation when I first came here. You’ll get used to it."
