Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive
Chapter 312: The White Tiger
CHAPTER 312: CHAPTER 312: THE WHITE TIGER
Chu Miao slowed down and began walking cautiously. Even though she didn’t know what gave her such a sense of danger, she had grown up in the ancient cultivation world as well. She knew that it never meant anything good if there was that sense of danger.
However, she also knew that where there was such danger, there were also opportunities. The ancient people said that danger and opportunities go hand-in-hand.
Therefore, she was always willing to explore any new place that might have an opportunity for her to advance her cultivation.
That was how she had almost advanced the golden core realm at the young age of eighteen.
Now that she saw another opportunity, of course she wouldn’t let it pass.
When Chu Miao felt that the spiritual energy at the place they had arrived at was as dense as that in the soul ring, she knew that they had indeed hit the jackpot.
She concentrated her spiritual energy into her eyes to see what was ahead even among the bushes and hanging leaves and was surprised to see a shimmering protective layer.
It looked like one of those barriers seen when a secret realm opened. There would usually be a restriction that would fade slowly until the gate to the secret realm opened when the restrictions were completely gone.
Now, looking at the same type of restrictions here, Chu Miao wondered whether a secret realm had appeared in this world due to certain factors.
She remembered reading in a book that some secret realms were not fixed in one place. Although they might appear at a regular interval of say once every ten or a hundred years, they don’t stay in one place.
In fact, she had visited a similar secret realm that would appear in a different place every time. It might appear in a different continent or even realm.
She had heard that there were other worlds other than the one they lived in, but she had never seen anyone from those other worlds.
However, she was sure that some secret realms would surely appear in one place today, and another place then next time.
Moreover, it is difficult to predict the exact location it would appear in. Unfortunately, the entrances to such secret realms would most of the times be monopolized by big families or sects.
Seeing an unclaimed gate to a secret realm like this one was nothing short of a miracle.
For now, though, everything was still a speculation. She had to make sure it was indeed the gate to a secret realm.
"The spiritual energy here is really dense. What might be causing it?" Gu Fan asked curiously.
Ever since their team had started cultivating, their worldview had changed. However, there were still many other surprises waiting for them in the future.
Just as Chu Miao wanted to reply, a deafening roar came from some distance in front of them.
Chu Miao could gauge the distance and knew that it was close to the restriction she had seen. It was less than a hundred meters.
When the group didn’t stop, a second roar followed. At first, she couldn’t gauge what the animal was, but from this roar, she could tell that it was a tiger.
What she didn’t know was whether this tiger had appeared together with the secret realm or if it was a native of the mountain and was attracted by the dense spiritual energy.
Animals are sensitive creatures and even if they didn’t know how to cultivate, it would still sense that the dense spiritual energy there was beneficial for them.
The tiger might be the same if it was really native to the mountain.
Chu Miao and Ye Xuan walked forward slowly until they stopped at a distance of about fifty meters from the restriction.
The others filled behind them, each person on high alert and ready to take action like the soldiers they were.
Even though this was the first time they had encountered something so bizarre, they didn’t dare to relax or let their guard down even for a bit.
The group watched as a white tiger almost as tall as a person took slow, calculated steps towards them.
The head of the tiger alone was as big as a large basin. The legs were also long as a child of about seven years could stand under its belly and barely touch the fur there.
When it walked, one could see the flex of the huge muscles and how they shifted with every step.
At that moment, the tiger was baring its teeth as if to scare away the people standing there.
The eyes of the tiger met Chu Miao’s and for a second, both parties had a sense of deja vu. Chu Miao could not understand where this feeling came from.
She had clearly never seen the tiger before, but why did it feel as if they were old friends.
Also, the aggressive demeanor of the tiger reduced significantly. Chu Miao could almost see the tiger going from a big, masculine animal, to a soft bunny asking for cuddles.
"Why did its demeanor change so much? Did something happen to it?" Chu Hao asked the question that almost everyone there had their minds on.
"Why is it acting as if it knows you, sister-in-law?" Lei Ying, the clown, also asked in surprise.
"I don’t know either, but if I could take it home, then maybe I can determine why it is behaving like that." Chu Miao states half-jokingly.
As she spoke, Chu Miao took small steps towards the animal that had stopped walking forward.
She wasn’t sure whether this was its way of expressing goodwill.
However, she chose to believe so and walked even close to it.
What surprised her was that the animal didn’t try to attack her even though she had already walked very close to it.
The tiger watched Chu Miao until she was about two meters away from it before it lowered its massive body and laid down.
