CHAPTER 430: CHAPTER 430: THE MORNING AFTER

For no reason, Chu Miao felt her cheeks heat. She wasn’t a shy girl naturally but after what happened last night, she felt a little shy.

"Good morning." She replied in a small voice.

Ye Xuan could tell that she was shy just by looking at her and didn’t want to make her uncomfortable.

So, he walked over to the bed and sat down at the edge. He placed the plate of food on the bedside table and turned to help his girlfriend sit comfortably by erecting pillows behind her.

Once she was comfortable, Ye Xuan took the plate and scooped some porridge in a spoon then brought it to her lips.

"Have something to eat before you get up and freshen up." Ye Xuan encouraged with a doting smile on his face.

The gentle look he gave Chu Miao was completely incompatible with his usual image of a stone-faced soldier.

He was more like a whipped and devoted boyfriend. But Chu Miao liked this side of him very much.

After having something to eat and changing clothes, Chu Miao went to the living room to discuss the business that had brought her to Ye Xuan’s place the previous night.

They had been enthralled in passion so much that she had completely forgotten why she went to his apartment in the first place.

Unlike how they usually sit together with some distance between them even when they were sitting on the same seat, today the atmosphere was different.

He didn’t do anything else and just held her within his embrace.

This was a new feeling for both of them.

Even though they had dated for several months, there was always an element of respect and distance between them, most likely because they were both inexperienced and their personalities were a little too straightforward.

I don’t know what might have happened to him but considering the things we saw the last time we broke into that base, I would say it’s better if nothing happens to the president.

Even though the legitimate government has collapsed a lot, there are still some bureaucracies in place that help to maintain a semblance of order.

If not, things would already be worse. So, no matter what happens, nothing can happen to the president.

Jun Huang didn’t tell me clearly what had happened or who the medicine was for but I told him I would help. So, I brought him and his team back.

Thus, he wanted to get her permission before giving them to an outsider.

"What happened to your comrade’s team?" Chu Miao asked the question clawing at her mind. She didn’t think that Ye Xuan would bring strangers into the sect for no reason.

" He had left C City with a team of fifty soldiers who could hold their own in battle, and since the mission was urgent, they were allocated weapons even for those with superpowers.

However, when I met them yesterday, the team had dwindled to only twenty and they were completely out of ammo.
