CHAPTER 243: CHAPTER 243: PAST LIFE’S ENTANGLEMENT?

Spirit beasts... spirit beasts?!

In the apocalypse world, were there spirit beasts? No, she had never sensed one.

She took a deep breath. Her head lowered in deep thought. Nyra, who saw Zerra not daring to look at her, finally softened her expression. She thought Zerra was reflecting...

"Don’t play such a joke on your sister again." Nyra sighed. "I will leave your room now. Sleep." She patted Zerra’s head before standing up, turning around, and walking toward the door.

Her action snapped Zerra back to her senses. After Nyra closed the door, only then did she have the time to examine the surroundings.

The house looked outdated — unlike the modern house, which was mostly made of brick and paint. It was made of wood.

Still, houses made of wood exist in modern times too. It was just that the items around the house seemed strange. They didn’t exist in the modern world, like spirit stones and spirit herbs...

Even so, the grades were too low or without any grades at all. The spirit stones were colorful and less than low grade because of the pitiful amount of spiritual energy in them.

The spirit herbs were decent. They were only low grade and looked like useless grass, quite common to be found in an area with a little spiritual energy concentration. Nyra might have found it refreshing, and hence, she took it back home.

She even used a pot for the spirit herbs. The spirit stones weren’t naturally full of color, so someone must have painted them. They were scattered around the surface of the pot as decoration.

A realization dawned on Zerra: they were mortal.

This must have been the mortal area within the celestial realm.

Confusion kept her awake for an hour until she fell asleep because of exhaustion.

When she woke up again, it was already nighttime. As soon as she opened her eyes, Zerra was frightened. Nyra was sitting beside her bed, holding a familiar bowl. This time there were two!

She subconsciously fought to stay as far away as possible, crawling with her hands. However, a slight movement caused her to let out a hiss.

Nyra immediately scolded, "Don’t move too much. You are going to lie down on the bed longer if you make your wounds open again."

Zerra didn’t respond, merely scrunching her face. When her eyes fell on Nyra’s haggard face, she fell silent.

She was occupying the body of Nyra’s younger sister in the celestial realm, right? Even if she was reincarnated in the human realm as Nyra Sylvaris in the novel, she should have taken a cultivation path in her last life...

There were a lot of questions in her mind, yet she couldn’t voice them.

There was one thing that bugged her brain the most. Nyra and Cassias had entanglement in the modern time... was it because they had met each other in the celestial realm?

This was supposed to be Cassias’ memory, so she should observe more.

"After you drink this, tell me honestly about what had happened." Nyra’s frown deepened, but her hands didn’t slow down as she scooped up a spoonful of porridge and brought it to Zerra’s mouth.

Zerra subconsciously heaved a sigh of relief. Luckily, there was only one bowl of medicine and not two!

When Nyra’s words were finally registered in her mind, she furrowed her brows. "Sister... I don’t remember anything."

Nyra froze, the movement of her hand paused a few centimeters away from her sister’s mouth.

Zerra munched on the porridge and swallowed it, lowering her eyes. She keenly noticed Nyra’s reaction. Just as she thought, Nyra didn’t take her previous amnesia claim seriously at all.

"Are you serious?" Nyra put the bowl of porridge on the bedside table and leaned over, softly grabbing Zerra’s cheek and examining her expression.

Zerra nodded slowly. What else could she say? She needed to stay here and not act out of character for now. She still had to figure out why Cassias’ played this memory.

Even cultivators wouldn’t remember everything with a hundred percent precision detail. She had reflected on this. So, Cassias’ memory was based on his imagination of the scenes he had heard even if he wasn’t directly involved.

He constructed reality in his own mind based on his understanding. That was why she could experience scenes in other places when he wasn’t directly witnessing them.

Nyra had an ever-changing expression on her face; troubled, shocked, and concerned. Then, she seemed to have thought about something in her mind and subconsciously let out a sigh.

"The people who brought you home told me you got injured because you chased after spirit beast cubs and fell in a deep and narrow ditch in the forest," Nyra began. She took Zerra’s arms. "Listen to your sister from now on, alright?"

That undisguised expression of concern, soft tone, and sharp words but caring intention... it felt so foreign when she saw that on Nyra. In modern times, she only often witnessed Nyra’s sharp words and cold face.

Zerra nodded again, putting on an obedient and regretful expression. Nyra touched her cheek and told her, "We will call the village’s doctor to examine you again tomorrow."

After that, Nyra forced her to eat porridge and medicine. This time, she didn’t resist.

She looked down at her arms, a little thin, belonging to a body that was still in the growth process. Nyra’s younger sister was only a teenager, fourteen years old. She was still in a phase where she was curious about a lot of things and liked to explore.

"I can sleep alone, sister." Zerra told her awkwardly, but Nyra insisted on accompanying her to sleep tonight.

Nyra frowned, and her sharp eyes probed her face, causing Zerra to flinch slightly. "Let me sleep here tonight. In case you need anything, you can just wake me up."

Her decision was final, and Zerra was helpless to stop it, so she just let it be. She pretended to fall asleep, but her senses were alert. When Nyra’s breath became steady, she opened her eyes.

She took a mirror from her inner space, full of curiosity. What did Nyra’s younger sister in this celestial realm look like?

The moment she stared at her reflection, she froze. After falling into this world, why did everything keep on surprising her?!
