When Bai Meiyue returned to the base with the rest of the team, she realised that her plan was not wrong at all. In fact, it was more than perfect, because the second they returned to the base, the soldiers surrounded them.

"Little beauty, you better listen to us and hand over to us the entire supplies that you have brought with you. Or else we will have no choice but to take you with us," said the soldier. His eyes flickered as he looked up and down at Bai Meiyue, who was sitting on the passenger side. He lecherously smiled at Bai Meiyue when he realised that the infamous Bai Meiyue was actually a young and budding beauty.

No sooner did the man finish speaking than a small spark lit up on top of his head.

"Watch it!" another guard, who was beside him, pulled the frivolous guard and immediately dumped water on his head and swatted the fire that was starting on top of his head. The guard then turned to look at Lei Qian. The guard said to him, "You cannot hurt the soldiers, Master Lei."

"Then you all need to be within your limits," snapped Lei Qian coldly. His eyes filled with murderous rage as he said to the man, "Don't you dare talk to my wife like that. Do you think that I am dead? How dare you act so frivolously with my wife?"

When the two guards heard Lei Qian's words, they were stupefied. Since when did Lei Qian and Bai Meiyue become husband and wife? They were not the only ones stupefied; Bai Meiyue was just as stunned. She turned to look at Lei Qian, as she had only agreed to be with him, but never agreed to marry him.

She thought that as long as things went south, she would pat her bottom and leave. Who would have thought that this man would promote her straight to his wife?

However, she didn't say anything. Becoming Lei Qian's wife was also good.

When the guard realised that Lei Qian was not joking, he turned to look at his partner and rolled his eyes while calling the man an idiot in his mind. He sighed and then turned to look at Lei Qian before saying to him, "I apologise for his actions. However, Master Lei, you have to leave the supplies behind, as you have not taken any mission this week. These are the orders that we received from the higher-ups; there is nothing that we can do. Please try to understand."

Lei Qian wanted to refuse, but Bai Meiyue reached out and held his hand. She nodded and said to the guards, "Very well. You can take the supplies."

"Yueyue—"

"Just let them take the supplies," said Bai Meiyue, her eyes exceptionally bright as she looked at the man.

When Lei Qian felt her clutching his wrist, he pursed his lips and nodded. He turned to look at the two guards before saying, "Come with me, thieves. I will help you with your robbery."

"You–" The other soldier was upset with the insults, but his partner shook his head and stopped him.

He whispered, "Unless you want to get your head set on fire again, you better stay quiet."

"What? And let this man insult us?"

"So what if he insults us? Isn't he still working for us and the base? All the supplies that he brought after killing zombies are going straight to the warehouse of the base. Isn't it equivalent to them working for us? Why are you getting angry? Just eat twice the amount if you feel upset."

When the man heard the response of his partner, he felt that he made sense. He nodded and then hurriedly walked over to the back of the truck with a smile. So what if he couldn't taste the sweetness of Lei Qian's woman? He was still one up on him.

With that, his smile turned even more giddy.

Bai Meiyue heard everything that the two men were saying. They might believe that they were speaking too slowly, and she didn't hear anything, but the ability users' senses were better than those of normal people. Thus, she could hear everything that they said to one another the whole time they were whispering.

She smiled while sitting inside the car.

Once Lei Qian finished handing all the supplies, he returned to the car and started scolding Yu Miaomiao and everyone else who had caused him trouble.
