Thus, Chen Jian simply walked towards Yu Qian, who stood at the outskirts of the crowd, looking somewhat "lonely."

"I remember you."

"That night, you and I took down that Level Two monster together."

"I was planning to leave it in one piece, but you poured a furnace of molten iron over it..."

The last few words from Chen Jian were obviously a joke, something Yu Qian could hear for sure.

So after an awkward chuckle, he replied:

"If I get the chance to fight alongside you again, I’ll make sure to listen to your orders first."

"I was really panicked then... I thought I was going to die there."

"It’s only human."

Chen Jian nodded and then asked straightforwardly:

"Frankly, surviving a close call like that shouldn’t feel too good, right?"

"You’ve been through it once, do you really want to experience it several more times?"

"You have a young son and daughter."

"Why did you apply to join the Penetration Company? Do you not know what their mission is?"

"...I know."

Yu Qian sighed deeply.

Immediately after, he replied:
