Chapter 168: Spiritual Tide
CHAPTER 168: CHAPTER 168: SPIRITUAL TIDE
The gunshot echoed, and a hole was blasted into the ground. Smoke rose slowly, carrying the faint smell of gunpowder.
What just happened? She’s gone?
Lille Barro frowned. His dark face showed a hint of surprise. He hadn’t seen at all how she vanished.
He looked up, scanning the area.
Eventually, he spotted her on a rooftop nearly a kilometer away—the pink-haired little girl who should have been shot through. Sitting next to her was a teenage boy with long hair hanging over his shoulders.
He wore a black Soul Reaper uniform and rested his cheek on one hand, looking over with a curious expression.
Was it him? Did he save her?
Lille Barro narrowed his eyes, his expression growing serious. A Shunpo over a kilometer isn’t hard—his flying scythe kicks could even cover up to 45 kilometers in one go.
What really bothered him was that the guy had moved without making a sound. Not even his spiritual sense had picked it up.
No exaggeration at all—if that boy had been trying to kill instead of saving someone just now, someone would already be dead!
"Who are you?" Taking a deep breath, Ryget Barrow used spirit particles to amplify his voice as he shouted.
His shout made all the other members of the Sternritter and the royal guards stop what they were doing and turn their eyes toward the boy.
"Third seat of Squad Four, Uchiha Madara." Madara rolled his neck and slowly stood up from the rooftop. "Quincies, are you ready?"
"Huh? Ready for what, exactly?" asked another royal guard, Askin Nakk Le Vaar.
"Of course, ready to..."
Uchiha Madara suddenly vanished from the eyes of the Quincies. In the same moment, a cold voice whispered into Askin’s ear,
"...go to hell."
*Thud.*
A pale, youthful hand gently landed on Askin’s chest. It looked like he didn’t use any force at all.
But Askin’s expression froze in an instant. His lips moved slightly, but not a sound came out. Then, with a *pop*, his whole body turned to dust and vanished into the air.
Stunned silence.
Everyone there, whether Sternritter or royal guard, was completely frozen. And after that came utter disbelief.
Askin Nakk Le Vaar, the man granted the letter "D" for "The Deathdealing" by His Majesty... had just been killed that easily by this boy?
"Hey! What are you all standing around for? Kill him already!" a sharp voice shouted from among the Quincies.
That finally snapped the Sternritter and guards back to their senses. All of them launched their full power at Uchiha Madara.
*Whoosh whoosh whoosh.*
Blazing white arrows ripped through the air, and the spirit particles around them surged violently.
*Buzz buzz buzz.*
Under the pull of hundreds of thousands of Holy Arrows, a giant wave of glowing white energy formed and came crashing toward Uchiha Madara like a tidal wave.
Everything in its path—buildings, roads, and even the white mist filling the space—was dissolved into particles and disappeared into the air.
"It’s over..." Soi Fon, who had just been rescued, stared blankly at the energy wave, her face full of despair.
To her, that wave of energy wasn’t something a person could stop. The force it carried was no different from a natural disaster. And in front of something like that, no matter how strong a person was, they couldn’t possibly...
Soi Fon’s thoughts froze right there.
A giant golden hand appeared in her field of vision, pushing forward like a mountain crashing down toward the wave of energy.
*Buzz buzz buzz.*
The two terrifying forces clashed, sending violent tremors through the air. A dome-shaped energy shockwave suddenly formed across the battlefield, glowing with blinding light.
*Boom!*
The energy shockwave burst outward from the point of impact in every direction. The ordinary soldiers caught in it didn’t even have time to scream before they were turned to ash.
Moments later, the light faded.
The flat marble plaza was completely gone. In its place was a massive, bottomless crater—like a silent message from the battle.
"He... actually stopped it?" Soi Fon stared in a daze at the boy’s back, her face filled with shock.
To stop that raging wave of spirit energy alone... who is this boy? And what was that golden hand? Some kind of Kido?
Scarlet Lotus Fairy: Huh? That move by Lord An... could it be...
This is an Actor: That’s right. It’s the Heaven’s Net technique.
Scarlet Lotus Fairy: I knew it!
Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Heaven’s Net? Isn’t that a technique from the Ancient Tomb Sect? Can a martial arts move really be *that* powerful?
This is an Actor: Why not? Martial arts techniques are basically the same as Taijutsu from the Naruto world or Hakuda from the Bleach world. There’s no real difference in strength between them. In fact, martial arts techniques can be even more refined and powerful than Taijutsu or Hakuda.
Amegakure Village’s Angel: The key still lies with the user. The stronger the user, the stronger the technique!
Soul Society’s Bad Guy: It’s the same with swordsmanship.
Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Got it. I was just being ignorant.
Pretty Boy from Skull Island: But Mr. Anran’s Rodi Net Style must have reached a new level, right? Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to shape energy like that.
Kong had been focused on studying martial arts and sword techniques lately, which is why he had such deep knowledge of these moves. He could even name terms most people in the group didn’t understand.
This is an Actor: Just something I figured out in my spare time.
Scarlet Lotus Fairy: That’s a scary amount of talent.
Li Mochou was truly impressed.
She felt that even without any special background or advantages, their group leader’s talent alone would be enough to make him a top martial arts master in their world.
*Shua.*
As everyone in the livestream was talking, a flash of cold light suddenly appeared and shot straight at UchihaMadara.
