Ascension of Chaos
Chapter 199 - B2 | 49
Ashley
I spend one day after another entering that Domain, fighting against the monsters in it and leveling up inside. All the way until I finally reach the max level of Class D. Level 375.
Unfortunately, the day of the System Tower begins to approach rather quickly. So I'm not given time to go in and figure out how to kill that boss.
Which means the stupid Domain is going to be left to the Tower of Chaos to finish cleaning up.
At the end of the day though, it doesn't really matter all that much. Not when I reached my goal with the Domain.
I reached the max level of Class D and that's all that matters.
Now things should be easier for me during the System Tower climb.
So when the portal to the System Tower finally opens, I walk straight through it with several dozen new members of the Tower of Chaos following behind me.
But after entering the tower, none of them are anywhere to be seen. And for the first time when entering something like this, I find my livestream turned off. Which is actually very nice.
I don't have to worry about everyone watching my every move while in here. Except some special bosses.
After passing through the portal, I find myself appearing in the middle of some large black and crimson room. With three doors, each labeled with a difficulty. Just like Chaos told me.
The one on the left is normal. The one in the middle is hard. The one on the right is time.
In order to get the best results in the System Tower, you have to challenge Primordial difficulty every time. With this choice being given every time you enter a different floor of the System Tower out of ten floors.
Ten floors, ten Primordial concepts.
So I go through the time door without hesitation.
Only to find myself appearing at the edge of some island with a massive clock tower going all the way up to the clouds at the center of the island. With several clockwork golems walking around outside the tower.
I narrow my eyes at the monsters before identifying them.

Every last one is an exact replica of each other. With no visible differences at all.
They have the exact same level, the same number of potential skills, the same appearances, and the same species names.
They're even all holding the same swords as weapons. Ones coated in an orange energy that I can tell from my one time Successor skill is time mana.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Despite the clear danger they no doubt pose to others and maybe even me, I can't help but smile. Because it's my first time in a Domain without the livestream on.
And that's nice.
My thoughts halt when the usual Domain mission appears in my vision.
Clocktower of Time
You have entered the System Tower's first Domain. The following objectives have been unlocked.
Complete objective 1 or all of the objectives to conquer the first Domain.
Complete 1 or more objective to leave the first Domain.
All objectives will give an unspecified number of points towards your final System Tower score.
Floors of the System Tower will vary depending on your total point score when arriving at them.
Objective 1: Kill the Timestricken Clockwork Overlord.
Objective 2: Kill all monsters within the tower.
Objective 3: Kill all Timeworn Clockworks within the tower.
Objective 4: Find the Jewel of Time.
Objective 5: Survive for 12 hours within the Clocktower of Time.
Okay. So I only need to clear one objective to leave this place, but I should clear them all in order to get as many points as I can possibly get.
Both because I want a high score here, and because I need a high score to reach my main goal of this tower.
The only way to fight the Unique Monster's clone at the end of the tower as a boss is to get a high enough score to impress the Unique Monster running the place. At which point he will place a clone of himself as the boss of the tenth and final floor.
The Chaos floor.
Chaos has greater reign over this System Tower since he's technically in charge of managing it. As well as filling it with monsters. Not that he actually does. The managing part.
He does fill it with monsters at least.
But he doesn't do the managing part.
That responsibility was ditched onto the Unique Monster of the System Tower. Who is also considered by the System to be the Domain Boss of the Domain.
Technically if someone actually beats his real form, the System Tower will collapse. Since it's technically considered a special Unique Domain in a way. Just that it's one that will never break thanks to the System and the Primordials' interference.
But no one can kill the Unique Monster's true body here. It's just not possible.
The only people who can enter the System Tower are between Class E to Class B. And the Unique Monster is Class S.
It could kill them with a single breath, much less a slap.
I think back on the Unique Monster. That humanoid white tiger. And when I do, a faint smile spreads on my face as my thoughts return to my old stuffed tiger.
Will the Unique Monster be as fluffy as that stuffed tiger?
"Adorable…" I hear Chaos mutter in my mind, making my eyes narrow as a blush appears on my face.
Then I pretend I didn't hear him.
Anyway, killing a Unique Monster's clone should give me the Unique Monster's Skill Tree. According to Chaos at least. Not to mention all the other people I've killed in System Events that came back to life.
The only reason that won't work on Chaos himself is because the System is protecting his Skill Tree. Designating it as a Primordial Skill Tree or something like that.
So even if Chaos just made a clone and let me kill it, not that I'd be able to in the first place, I wouldn't get anything.
The only way to take a Primordial's Skill Tree with Assimilate, according to Chaos, is to kill the Primordial themselves.
Their real body.
But the Unique Monsters don't have the same protection as the Primordials. So I can take their Skill Trees even without killing their real body.
And that's my goal for this System Tower. To take the Unique Monster's Skill Tree as my own.
He is my main target. And Chaos said he's excited to fight me as well.
Something about the Unique Monster being very loyal to Chaos.
I'm not really sure what that has to do with fighting me, but whatever. Now isn't the time to think about that.
What it is the time for is to deal with this first Domain.
I spend a few minutes studying the clockworks out of the tower. Of which there are at least a couple dozen. All of whom are just patrolling around the tower.
Meanwhile the tower itself has only a single entrance, and several massive clocks all around the tower.
And if what Chaos said is correct, any hidden bosses I find will be livestreamed. And the main boss of each Domain from the hardest difficulty will be livestreamed as well.
But outside of those, none will.
I purse my lips before deciding to save some of my mana and start things out testing my physical strength alone against them.
Which works well as I crush these golems without much difficulty despite us having the same level.
At least, it works until they start coating their bodies in time mana, making my attacks instantly slow down when they near them. With time magic seemingly slowing down time itself.
Following which the clockworks attack me with their swords as part of my body is locked in slow motion.
I manage to block the attacks with my scales at the last second though, but still.
This System Tower really isn't to be underestimated.
Especially when this is the first floor. And these are the weakest monsters.
With that in mind, I quickly narrow my focus on killing these clockworks.
