Divine Limit Realm used to be known as level ten Divine Extinction Realm, but over time, no one in the Abyss was able to become a True God via cultivation once more. That was why the level ten Divine Extinction Realm was viewed as the absolute limit one could reach via cultivation and was renamed the Divine Limit Realm.

The ten levels of Divine Extinction Realm were reduced to nine levels, and the Divine Limit Realm itself was split into nine minor levels. Every time someone overcame a minor level, they were getting ever closer to godhood with their mortal shells, yet never reaching it.

This was why the nine minor levels of the Divine Limit Realm, despite being the hardest levels to increase out of all cultivation levels, did not boast as big of a gap and difference compared to other cultivation realms.

To give an example, it was like the people of the Primal Chaos took the 10th level Divine Master Realm, renamed it the 'God Emperor Realm', and then split it into nine levels. Tai Yu would be at the 1st level, Yue Wuya and Xing Juekong at the 2nd, the Eternal Heaven God Emperor at the 3rd, Qianye Fantian at the 4th, and so on.

They might be separated by eight full levels, but a 9th level Divine Limit Realm couldn't instantly crush a 1st level Divine Limit Realm the way a 10th level Divine Master could against a 1st level Divine Master.

The two commanders, Luo Ping and Yang Chen, at the 8th and 7th level of the Divine Limit Realm respectively, had never imagined they would take a blow so easily from someone and without any ability to resist.

Not even by the strongest commander.

"Grhh! Haah!"

Yang Chen's eyes turned bloodshot as he let out a guttural roar, detonating his world-annihilating Divine Limit Realm power. The eruption surged like it could tear the heavens apart, shaking the earth until it seemed ready to collapse in on itself.

BOOOMM!

Enveloped in dense purple lightning, Commander Yang Chen shot toward Yun Wuji like a blazing star. The star swelled rapidly, growing thousands of meters wide as lightning crackled violently around it. Even the smallest spark left a massive black scar across space.

As the gigantic lightning star drew near Yun Wuji, it morphed into a colossal fist spanning tens of thousands of meters. Its explosive might tore through space itself, erasing everything around where Yun Wuji stood without the slightest mercy.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM————

Dozens of kilometers of land split apart into countless dark scars, while tens of thousands of lightning plasma beams surged upward, tearing through the sky.

From afar, the blinding light pierced through the dense gray abyssal fog, and the shock waves from that world-destroying attack even reached Helian Lingzhu, who was staring in their direction.

When the gigantic fist that looked like the fist of justice striking the wicked came down on him, Yun Wuji remained standing. His expression was calm, no… there was a light smile on his face. Even if he tried, he couldn't contain his excitement. It had been so fucking long since he fought another human being with such incredible strength!

Stretching out his hand, the Heaven Smiting Devil Emperor Sword blinked into existence. He casually made a slashing motion, and a bright silver sword beam shot forth.

The image of a gigantic sword, stretching hundreds of kilometers tall, swung down toward the purple fist.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM————

When the two collided, everything in their path, the sky, the earth, space, and the furious Yang Chen, vanished into nothing, leaving only a dark void in their place.

"That was not a bad attack, I'll give you that," Yun Wuji said casually, resting his heavy sword on his shoulder. This kind of battle stirred a nostalgic feeling in him. It reminded him of the time when he was still on the Blue Pole Star, roaming around to challenge Sovereign Profound Realm beasts.

After going to the God Realm, all his opponents were either far stronger or far weaker than him. He had barely any decent fights at all. And by the time he emerged from the Eternal Heaven Divine Realm, there was no longer anyone who could threaten him. He could not even release his aura without causing the world to tremble.

"Keke... Eghh...!" Far from the explosion, Yang Chen crawled out of the deep hole he had made, his broken body letting out throaty roars. Blood drenched him, and his shining silver armor had been shattered into tiny fragments. Lifting his head, he stared at Yun Wuji, completely unharmed, his pupils shrinking to pinsize.

On the other hand, Luo Ping knelt on the ground, staring at the scene in disbelief. "Who… are you?!"

When they had been dispatched to punish the man called Yun Wuji, neither of them had ever entertained the idea that they could actually lose. After all, there were two of them, and only a single opponent. On top of that, they had absolute confidence in their own strength.

But now, both of them had been completely dominated in just a single exchange!

"I am me," Yun Wuji said, shaking his head in disapproval. "You came at me so righteously, thinking you could punish the great me. But look at you. So pathetic that you can no longer even recognize your target."

He paused, putting on a pondering expression. "Hmm. Could it be that I went too hard on you? That cannot be right. You are both the great Knight Commanders. It cannot be that after this light beating, you have lost your minds."

Luo Ping wiped the blood from his lips and stood up. He flew over to his companion, Yang Chen, and helped him to his feet. "How are your injuries?"

"I won't die yet," Yang Chen said, shaking his head and spitting a mouthful of blood, a weary smile on his face. "This guy is terrifying. We underestimated him too much. Even up until now, I still cannot sense his true cultivation realm."

"Indeed," Luo Ping nodded solemnly. "Still, we cannot give up now. The reputation and dignity of the Pure Land cannot be tarnished in our hands."

Yang Chen stumbled forward, breaking free from Luo Ping's support. He took two more steps and said, "I used to dislike your overly serious face, but right now I cannot agree with you more. For the Pure Land, we have to teach this man a lesson, even if it costs us our lives!"

BOOMM!

The two detonated their profound energy, shaking the surroundings before fearlessly lunging toward Yun Wuji once more.

Another clash erupted between the three, and the world seemed to fracture into three distinct domains. One was a crackling purple world of lightning, another a scorching red world of fire, and the largest of them all was a pure silver white world radiating a dense and piercing power that easily forced the two back.

The two struggled to resist, but their efforts barely made any impact before they were overwhelmed again. In just a short while, the silver white domain engulfed them, sending the two knight commanders flailing once more.

Luo Ping and Yang Chen rose to their feet again, their injuries even more severe, and charged at him without hesitation.

...

"Yun Wuji... please be safe," Helian Lingzhu whispered, holding her hands before her chest, her gaze fixed on the direction where Yun Wuji had gone. The shocks from the fight had been so intense they reached her even here, and the sky had been changing colors since earlier.

Flashing with different colors, the most prominent one since earlier was the silver light, which seemed to completely dominate the other two.

This brought her some relief. She was very familiar with Yun Wuji's aura and his profound energy, so she knew the silver light was likely his.

After a few minutes of torturous waiting, her eyes suddenly shone, and a smile of happiness spread across her face as she saw the figure she knew so well zooming toward her. Unable to contain her excitement, she sprinted toward him, shouting, "Yun Wuji, you are back!"

"Yeah, I am," Yun Wuji said, opening his arms wide to let her dive into them. He patted her back gently, saying, "I told you not to worry, I'll come back safely."

"There is no one in this world who can hurt me."

The two commanders had been quite skilled... good enough to give him a warm-up. After toying with them for a while, he 'politely' sent them back to their home, though not without losing a few limbs.

"I know... but... I couldn't help but worry," Helian Lingzhu whispered, holding him tightly, her face pressed against his chest as she listened to his heartbeat.

Perhaps it was the fear and the hope of saving her dynasty that had left her with a deep sense of insecurity. That was why she had been so worried when Yun Wuji left. She feared losing him like so many of her friends and acquaintances who had been killed by the other three sects or corroded by the Abyssal Dust.

"I won't be going anywhere," Yun Wuji said, gently patting her head and running his fingers through her soft hair, easing her tension. His mind drifted to the first time he had met Cang Yue. She had also carried the heavy burden of the Blue Wind Empire, forced to shoulder the failures of her father and the uselessness of her brothers.

He still despised Cang Yue's father even now. He was unfit in every possible way. As a human being, he didn't even have a decent cultivation base despite having all the resources at his disposal. As a father, he failed to educate his sons, raising nothing but trash. As an emperor, he had nearly been killed by his own trusted doctor.

Compared to Helian Jue, the two seemed equally useless and trashy. Their only redeeming quality was that they had managed to raise good daughters.

"With me here, you don't have to worry ever again. I will always be here for you, okay?" Yun Wuji whispered softly into her ear.

"Hmm, I know," Helian Lingzhu hummed, lifting her head to meet his gaze.

"Do you want to continue where we stopped?" Yun Wuji smirked, locking eyes with her as he leaned in slowly. Helian Lingzhu blinked in confusion, but then she understood what he meant. Her heart skipped a beat, and she closed her eyes. This time, he didn't leave her waiting long. His lips met hers in a light, gentle kiss.

A short while later, the light kiss slowly deepened as their tongues met in a passionate kiss.
