Awakening Kryptonian Bloodline In Marvel.
Chapter 197: 197: Captain Marvel (1/?)
One day later, far above Earth:
A vibrant star illuminated the galaxy, its light traveling through the void, bringing warmth across the cosmos. At the fringe of this illumination, a hidden Jump Point—Marvel's hexagonal gateway for interstellar travel—snapped open. From it emerged a starship, slicing through space past Neptune and Uranus, finally slowing into orbit near Mars.
A fleet of vessels hovered like locusts around a stalk of wheat. At the commanding float rear, a beam of light descended, piercing the hull of the largest ship, and Captain Marvel emerged through the hatch.
Photon energy faded as she deactivated her suit's outer-space mode. Her golden hair, freed from the cowl's mohawk, draped softly over her shoulders, softening her angular features.
Standing before her were Talos, his wife Soren, and their daughter G'iah—greeted with warmth and relief.
"Long time no see, Carol," Talos said with genuine warmth.
Carol smiled but narrowed her eyes slightly. "Talos? Are you sure this didn't bring an entire hostile fleet?"
Soren cleared her throat. Talos offered an awkward smile.
"Carol, you know we would never attack Earth," he said softly. "They've been our allies. But the truth is… we needed refuge."
Carol's expression hardened.
"A million Skrulls? Here? You let them all come?"
Talos's voice cracked. "I'm sorry. I… I couldn't leave my people to be hunted."
Seeing G'iah peek at her father, Carol held her emotions and sighed in regret.
"Did Fury ask me here? What exactly are you asking me to do?" she pressed.
"I know I failed you, Carol. But all of my people are innocent. They don't deserve extinction in the void of space."
Releasing a shaky breath, Talos spoke with care.
"You helped me before, ten years ago. You fought alongside us, promised a new home, and gave my people hope."
His face reflected guilt and longing—hope rekindled.
Carol's eyes softened. Memories flashed across her mind: stars, battles, moments lost beneath emptiness.
"Taros," she said gently, using his human name, "I'm sorry too. I've searched the universe for a home that doesn't exist."
Her voice faltered. "But this… this situation is also my fault. I couldn't find them a home."
Talos lifted his head, hope flickering.
"This isn't your fault," he said. "It's just… tragic."
He explained the Kree threat: powerful cannons, deadly aggression. Children frightened. Refugees scattered.
Carol's lashes trembled. She sensed the cost of delay, of failed promise.
She squared her shoulders. "There is a way."
Talos's eyes faded.
"Earth wants to expel you. Fears what you are. But with me vouching for you… they might listen."
"I'll reach out to friends. I'll find another planet. But you cannot remain in one place as a million souls—it's too risky."
She continued, voice firm: "Split your numbers—reduce the base population so it's manageable. I'll do everything I can to secure you a new home."
Taros nodded, heaving a breath that half-relieved, half-weighed his shoulders.
The path ahead was uncertain—but not impossible.
