Chapter 19: Selling Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo
CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: SELLING ANTI-HAIR LOSS SHAMPOO
Just as the words fell, a cold and stern voice sounded from behind.
"Li Xiuping, you’re really acting quite bold!"
Upon hearing this voice, Li Xiuping’s legs went weak, and she quickly turned around.
Seeing a man in a black Zhongshan suit walking over, her expression changed slightly: "Director Zhang, you misunderstood, it was this girl who started causing trouble here. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I wanted to drive her out."
After saying this, she hurriedly pointed to the people behind and said, "Director Zhang, if you don’t believe me, you can ask them. Isn’t it true that this woman has been persistently wasting everyone’s time here? I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I spoke up to discipline her."
Someone immediately chimed in to ingratiate themselves with Li Xiuping.
Hearing this backing, Li Xiuping immediately became more confident, grabbing the pen on the table and handing it to Director Zhang: "Director Zhang, look, this is the one she broke while threatening me just now. How can someone with such a character be allowed to join our department store?"
Director Zhang frowned and looked at Su Xiaoxiao: "This lady over here, why are you causing trouble here?"
Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but roll her eyes; such blatant lies with not a shred of evidence.
"Hello, Director Zhang, I’m here to sign up for the sales position. This lady has been giving me a hard time because of my attire. I’m just curious, is there any part of our recruitment notice that says poorly dressed people cannot apply?"
She spoke logically, without the slightest hint of fear in her gaze towards Director Zhang.
Though young, she was very calm, and Director Zhang couldn’t help but admire her a bit.
He frowned slightly at Li Xiuping, having long heard rumors of her usual behavior.
She relied on some connections and would treat people based on appearances at the department store.
Whenever she encountered someone poorly dressed, she would treat them differently, and quite a few customers had already complained.
Usually, he would turn a blind eye, but today, if any incident were to happen, it could affect the department store’s reputation.
He immediately hardened his expression and scolded Li Xiuping: "Go and get the application form for this young woman!"
"But Director Zhang..."
"But what? If I ask you to give it, you give it."
With so many people behind, for whatever reason, the situation cannot be allowed to escalate further.
Besides, Li Xiuping is foolish. Even if this young woman gets the application form, she might not pass the exam to join the department store; a simple favor might be more of goodwill.
After saying this, he turned and walked away slowly with measured steps.
Su Xiaoxiao boldly reached out to Li Xiuping: "Hand it over, the application form."
Li Xiuping glared at her, reluctantly taking out an application form and handing it to her.
Su Xiaoxiao rudely snatched the pen from her hand and quickly filled out the application form on the table.
Taking a deep breath, she handed it to Li Xiuping and, as she reached to take it, suddenly drew closer and grabbed her collar, speaking in a low voice: "If you dare tamper with my application form, I will make you regret ever coming to this world."
After issuing the threat, she happily hummed a tune and left.
Li Xiuping stood there, eyes red with anger, snapping another pen in her hand.
Walking out the door, she immediately saw a tall man waiting by the roadside, and Su Xiaoxiao’s pace suddenly halted.
How did she forget, there’s an even bigger problem waiting for her here.
What to do? What to do? Should she pretend not to see him and sneak away?
Just as this thought emerged, Zhou Cheng had already sharply noticed her and was striding over.
The man was in a neat military uniform, with trousers tucked into black boots, tall and long-legged, walking briskly.
The sunlight cast on him, elongating his tall and upright shadow.
Su Xiaoxiao’s petite figure was instantly overshadowed by that black silhouette. Gazing at those cold, dark eyes, she felt like she was being stared down by a predator.
For some reason, her heart trembled; those long legs probably meant she couldn’t outrun him?
She suddenly felt like crying without tears, regretting her actions earlier.
Should she shamelessly ask if she could pay him back with anti-hair loss shampoo?
After all, that’s the only thing of value she had right now.
Uneasily, she glanced at Zhou Cheng’s lush hair, feeling uncertain.
He didn’t seem to need it much.
As she hesitated, Zhou Cheng had already stopped in front of her.
He looked down with immense pressure, watching her closely.
Su Xiaoxiao swallowed dryly: "Um... I have shampoo here, do you need it?"
As soon as she spoke, the surroundings fell into a dead silence.
While her toes awkwardly dug into the ground, Zhou Cheng looked at her in complete confusion.
Su Xiaoxiao braced herself and spoke: "I can’t repay those things. If you don’t mind, how about I give you some shampoo?"
While speaking, she pulled out a dozen packets of shampoo from her satchel.
This much shampoo should be more than enough to repay those things. Su Xiaoxiao calculated internally, stuffing the shampoo into Zhou Cheng’s arms, abandoning herself to her fate: "You see, I can’t give anything else now, only this. If you’re really bothered..."
Before she could finish, Zhou Cheng already blushed and spoke: "I don’t mind, this is great."
After a moment of silence, he couldn’t help but add: "I really like it, thank you."
Wang Zhigang had told him that for gifts from girls, no matter how bizarre or unimaginable, he should always say he liked them.
Yes, that’s how it should be.
Zhou Cheng internally cheered himself on.
Just as he finished speaking, he noticed Su Xiaoxiao shyly glancing at him, feeling his ears grow warmer.
He had no idea that Su Xiaoxiao was actually checking out his hair; it looked lush and not like it would fall out, right?
Could it be for someone else?
Realizing this, Su Xiaoxiao seemed to have uncovered the truth and couldn’t help but ask him: "I still have more, do you have friends in need? If so, I can give you a twenty percent discount."
These days, shampoo is considered a rarity.
The young girl probably had a hard time obtaining it herself, yet she thought of him first.
Zhou Cheng’s expression remained unchanged, but inwardly, he was nearly ecstatic.
She likes him.
After a brief silence, he nodded slightly: "Thank you, give me all that you can’t use."
Upon hearing this, Su Xiaoxiao’s face filled with shock; wait, were there really that many bald friends around him?
She had spent all that money on over three hundred packets of shampoo.
Her mouth twitched as she tried to conscientiously advise: "You only need about twenty packets, that’s plenty. Too much and you won’t use it all."
"Alright, just as you say."
Su Xiaoxiao then took out twenty small packets for him, spread her hands before him, just about to speak.
Suddenly, an anxious male voice came from behind.
