Banished Hero: I just want to live in peace on a deserted island
Chapter 74: Encounter with the Demon King
CHAPTER 74: CHAPTER 74: ENCOUNTER WITH THE DEMON KING
I walked out of the celebration and headed toward the beach, sitting on the sand while I watched the vastness of the ocean. The ocean looked like a giant monster with its jaws open, ready to devour everything. A bit of melancholy filled my heart as I remembered my parents from the other world, my little sister, and even my friends I hadn’t seen in a long time. Although I didn’t know how much time had passed on Earth, in this world it had already been more than six years. My mind was filling with bad thoughts, I could even say I felt depressed and powerless.
With a shout, I stood up, trying to shake off the bad thoughts that were consuming me. I took out the [Moonbow] and unleashed a final ability toward the ocean. The arrow traveled for miles before exploding with a devastating sound. The women of the village looked over and only saw fireworks, but no one knew that the attack had caused thousands of deaths of beasts in the ocean and air. That was the final ability I had obtained, but I had unleashed it without thinking, as if something had forced me to snap out of that strange state of melancholy.
"Well, well. I thought you wouldn’t notice my presence."
The voice next to me caused my mind to freeze while a cold sweat ran down my back. As I turned to look at her, I saw a name that filled me with caution.
[Demon King Al’ Khash Lvl 97]
I didn’t put away my bow; instead, I began to prepare for a bloody battle. I was stunned because my detection system hadn’t detected her, and even now, as I was looking at her, I still couldn’t. Even with my heightened senses, I couldn’t feel that there was someone in front of me.
"Relax, I didn’t come here to fight you. I just wanted to introduce myself and see who is competing for control of the zone I possess."
Instead of calling her a Demon King, it was more correct to call her a Demon Queen. She wore a long, low-cut, intense pink dress with a slit up the legs that revealed the side line of her black lace panties. The demon queen had a phenomenal figure that would captivate anyone, and her face was perfect. She had pink eyes that emitted a supernatural glow that combined very well with her black hair and electric pink streaks.
I couldn’t help but activate my Temporary Evaluation ability to see what kind of demon king she was, but a barrier appeared in front of her.
"Hehehe...", she laughed. "It’s very impolite of you to want to spy on a young lady like me..."
It was the first time I hadn’t been able to see through someone. I didn’t know how she had blocked me, but this seductive young demon had ways of keeping me at bay.
"Don’t worry, I know you feel confused. I used a bit of my ability on you, but it seems you’re stronger than I expected, young hero... you are worthy of the GRB champion title... You even defeated Huesitos and his cheating army."
The demon queen’s words sounded melodious and soothing, like a mother’s lullaby to her baby. However, this made my guard go up even more against her, as I didn’t know what she was planning.
"Come on... don’t be so aggressive with me... you’re scaring me."
The demon queen shrank, making cute gestures as if she were about to cry, but I kept my poker face firm so she wouldn’t know what I was thinking at that moment.
"Alright, I’ll stop playing... I came to propose a deal. Well, initially I wanted to devour you and make you my slave, but now that I’ve seen your power, I’ll move to plan B: let’s join forces. I have something that I’m sure might interest you..."
The demon queen’s words left me intrigued, so I asked, "What is it about? And what’s the catch?"
"There’s no catch, my dear. Everything is calm and transparent," she replied with a smile. "But tell me, why do you think I’m in this remote place?"
"You probably lost the war on the continent and were forced to flee," I said with sarcasm.
She laughed heartily, a laugh that sounded like a melody. "You have a great imagination, but that’s not it." She paused, as if remembering something, and continued, "I have thirteen demon kings under me; I am already recognized as the Demon Empress and I command millions of demons under my banner."
My face remained impassive, but inside, my mind was working at full speed. A demon empress... why would she be here?
"But one day... in some abandoned ruins, I found very interesting information. It took me hundreds of years to fully excavate the ruins, but in the end, I managed to decipher everything the ancient stone walls said."
The demon queen paused, looking at me with a smile that told me she had me in the palm of her hand.
"So?" I asked, irritated. "What happened then?"
"Do you really want to know?" she replied in a melodic voice.
"If you don’t tell me, I’ll leave. I don’t have time for games," I said with the most serious tone I could muster.
"Oh, what a bad mood you have! I’m sure your women on the island don’t satisfy you," she said, moving a little closer. "Why don’t you come with this empress? I assure you, you’ll feel heaven."
She started to laugh as she licked her lips and mocked me.
"I guess you don’t want to make a deal," I said, holding my ground.
I tried to act tough, but she just kept laughing, knowing she had me in the palm of her hand.
"Well, I’ll tell you, but first let me give you some context... When I managed to get thirteen demon kings under me, my Demon King System evolved into a Demon Empress System. Some new functions were unlocked, and one of them was a map, which contained some blinking points. As you can probably guess, one of those points is in this location... I didn’t want anyone to know, so I decided to have my thirteen demon kings stage a revolution against me and faked my death in the process. I traveled discreetly to this place, and what do you think I found?"
