Feng Long was holding a flute and standing just outside the door, just as handsome and elegant as ever. He smiled and said, “Of course it is me.”

“I burned him and his two sons alive.” Bai Shaoqing said with a harsh tone and sneered: “Your disciple is cruel and shows no mercy to his relatives. Imagine how I will deal with you in the future, I will naturally not go easy on you.”

Feng Long slowly pushed his body upon Bai Shaoqing, pressing Bai Shaoqing against the chair, looking at him from above, staring silently.

The heavy feeling of oppression came from those deep eyes. Bai Shaoqing felt like he had nowhere to hide when Feng Long looked at him like this.

“Isn’t it good that the Bai Manor has been burnt to the ground?” Feng Long smiled and said, “If you wanted to burn it down, there must have been a reason to do it. You must be delighted that you were able to do it. Being that happy, you must really want to share it with others.” His smile made people feel liberated and at ease.

Hearing him repeat the word “must” in a low voice, Bai Shaoqing suddenly burst into tears.

Feng Long said softly: “You can tell me anything.”

Sparkling ripples appeared in his cold eyes, and the sadness on Bai Shaoqing’s face made his beauty even more thrilling. His trembling gaze looked up and stared at Feng Long for a moment.

Feng Long swept him up easily and put him against his chest, as if Bai Shaoqing was a fledgling in need of nurturing. As the wind howled, he leaped onto the roof with Bai Shaoqing, enjoying the fresh breeze on his face under the bright moonlight.

At this moment, Bai Shaoqing seemed to have lowered his guard and pretensions, as he lay on Feng Long’s lap, looking up at the bright moon in the sky.

He stared numbly at the sky, as if he wanted to see through the boundless sky. Feng Long lowered his head and gently began to caress him.

After a long while, Bai Shaoqing let out a long sigh. “I burned down Bai Manor.”

“I’m afraid that only you would praise me for this. Regarding this matter, even my mother would not tell me that I have done well.” Bai Shaoqing smiled bitterly. But very quickly, he became excited as if the hidden memories from the depths had risen up once more in that instant. He gritted his teeth: “But I don’t regret it, even if it was wrong, I will never regret it. I once made an oath to myself that I would burn down Bai Manor one day.”

Feng Long continued to nod gently, “You don’t have to regret it. Besides, you have done nothing wrong.” Although his tone was light, there was a sort of hegemonic certainty in it, as if as long as he said so, it was correct and there were no doubts about it.

“Song Xiangli was very cruel, she wanted to kill me but never did. Instead since I was a child, she would always used invisible methods to torture me.” Bai Shaoqing said softly, “Bai Moran said that I was a child with poor health, so I could not learn the martial arts of the Bai family. But in fact, I was ordered by Song Xiangli to kneel in the ice and snow, which was the beginning of my poor health.”

Feng Long’s hand has been there for a while, patting Bai Shaoqing’s shoulder from time to time but his gaze never left Bai Shaoqing for a moment.

“They all bullied me and tried all kinds of unimaginable methods. Sometimes my clothes suddenly turned into rags, and sometimes my shoes suddenly had a big hole underneath. When Bai Moran looked at me, it was like looking at venom that he could not tolerate. My existence had ruined their legendary love and ruined his reputation of being the number one loving husband in Wulin . Sometimes, I really doubt whether I am really his son.”

Feng Long sighed, “Even a vicious tiger will not eat its cubs, but some people are worse than a tiger.”

“As for Bai Shaoxin and Bai Shaoli, hmm, they are both sanctimonious and beastly, if I hadn’t endured all that silently, they…they long would have…” Bai Shaoqing suddenly closed his eyes and gritted his teeth.

Feng Long enclosed that clenched fist light with his own hand. There was a smile on Feng Long’s lips.

“Don’t be afraid, Bai Manor no longer exists.” Feng Long said cheerfully, “You are the only descendant of the Bai family. Bai Shaoqing now represents the Bai family in Wulin.”

“I am the Bat, not Bai Shaoqing.”

“You are my bat, and the Bai Shaoqing of Jianghu.”

    “Absurd!”

“It’s not absurd.” Facing that fragile and beautiful face, Feng Long lowered his head and kissed him without hesitation. The sweet fragrance was as intoxicating as in a drunken dream.

“I promised that you will never be bullied. You are the son of the Bai family, the Bat of Zhengyi Sect, the sworn brother of the Alliance Leader of Wulin, and the disciple of the Sect Leader of Zhengyi Sect. Everyone in the orthodox sects admires you and everyone in the unorthodox sect fears you. I will make everyone dote on you, respect you, make you live lavishly, and do whatever your heart desires.”

“Live lavishly, do whatever my heart desires?” Bai Shaoqing stared blankly at Feng Long.

Feng Long looked back at him tenderly, “But you are truly, just my Bat.”

Bai Shaoqing looked at him and said foolishly, “Feng Long, why are you like this?”

“Because,” Feng Long sighed, “You have truly suffered too much.”

The ripples in Bai Shaoqing’s eyes suddenly trembled, as if a storm was imminent. His lips pressed lightly together, making Feng Long just want to kiss away the helpless bitterness. His face was lit up by the moonlight, making it even more beautiful.

    Translator Note:

Woooow, I can’t say that I don’t like this novel but I’m not loving it, lol. Like I fully went into this, thinking it’s a wuxia novel with lots of action and some case-solving and it turns out to be more of just a toxic love story haha.

What I want to know though is what are Feng Long’s motivations, why does he like BSQ so much..… Hmmm, I really hope that’s explained….

Anyway… lots of blah blah – just a heads up, this is the last chapter I’m posting for this novel this year. Sounds weird to say that haha. Time for me to get some real rest and spend time with the family. Happy holidays, my lovelies! ~
