CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 47: SECOND ROUND

The air exploded and blasted a shockwave so powerful it pushed the water away creating giant waves. The area a few metres around him became clear without any water for a few moments then the water came rushing back in like a flood.

He just floated there with a strange look. ’ Isn’t this a bit too powerful?’ even he was surprised by his strength, it was way too much.

Then the excitement came and bubbled inside him. With this much strength what was there to fear, even that hippo was nolonger a serious threat to him.

’ Maybe I should go pay it back for what it did.’ he felt anger rise inside him when he thought about it and accompanying the anger was an unparalleled confidence in himself.

’ No Ved, control it, control it.’ he stopped himself before he did something stupid. He frowned ’ It seems this dragon curse thing is getting worse. This is going to get me killed isn’t it?’ he sighed.

Then he swam back to his cozy place. It was time to focus on getting out of here, however before then he will need to grow stronger.

After resting for a while he left, it was time to go hunting and this time he was not going to be picky. He will eat anything and everything that can increase his points,no matter how little.

And so a dark period of death and blood arrived in the swamp. Ved opened his mouth and sucked in a loud mouthful of water and with it came a large school fish.

The fish were small individually but there were hundreds of them. He was still confused by what happens to the water after he sucked in so much of it because he doubted it all went to his stomach.

It been around 2 months since he started his hunting spree and he was greatly disappointed, he had killed all the awakened beasts he can find in the surrounding hundreds of kilometres, unfortunately there weren’t as many as he had expected.

Then went after unawakened ones and he had eaten so many that one can swim for kilometres without seeing a single lifeform, not even the smallest.

In his mind it did not matter since he was leaving anyways, while he didn’t rejoice at being responsible for destabilising an entire ecosystem he really needed to get out of here.

He was starting to miss White as well. But now that he had basically emptied the outer regions of the swamp it was time he went inwards where the island was.

While that increased the chances of meeting that stupid hippo it was better than being in a place without food. However just as he was about to swim away he saw a shadow zipping through the air.

For a moment he thought it was the rank 3 hawk he saw when he got here and became cautious but then he realised it was not. While that bird was as large as the hawk it was a mere rank 2.

And when it got closer it body became clearer. It was white with a black line around it neck, unlike the hawk it had web feet but unlike any bird he had ever seen it beak was thin and long.

It looked like a long spear, almost as long as the rest of it body which was over 3 metres long. The bird was going to fly right above him in a few seconds.

He wasn’t about to let such a delicious looking meal go so he waited. He stood upright underwater and flexed his hind legs. He activated the flash trait and like before he felt something flow into his legs.

When the bird was above him he jumped, the air exploded sending tons of water into the air. His body flew up like a missile for hundreds of metres.

The bird was startled but it was too late, before it could even react it was already caught between his teeth. His body continued flying up uncontrollably for a few dozen more metres then it stopped for a second.

He used that chance, standing hundreds of metres into the air to look at the swamp and it was then that he realised how large this place was, it stretched for as far as he could see.

He could faintly a giant lush forest growing west of the swamp and to the north was a gigantic mountain range which he assumed it’s where the bird came from.

Then gravity kicked in, his giant body fell, speeding up to hundreds of metres per second. The rushing wind brushed against his scales like a cooling fan.

Then he hit the water, with his speed it was like hitting a rock but it made no difference to him, a force of this level was nowhere near enough to hurt him.

The water exploded like a missile just landed and his body continued falling until it hit the floor and created a giant underwater crater which was filled by water a moment later.

He had just made this part of the swamp deeper. He ate the whole bird in a few bites, it was not even enough to fill the gap between his teeth but it was better than nothing.

Now it was time to go but before that he needed to know about his new ability, it might come in handy in the possibly upcoming battle.

’ Ability definition’

( Aspect Integration- Host can integrate physical aspect of his victims as long as it is possible for hosts body to integrate them, eg. Wings, horns, tails, organs etc.

Note 1: Aspects possible to integrate must be marked on the victims body and marked victims do not grant evolution points.

Note 2: Integrated aspects will only appear after the next evolution) ’Damn that’s awesome, doesn’t that mean I can grow wings the next time I evolve?’

He grew excited, wings were a signature feature of a true dragon unless it’s an eastern sea dragon. ’Wait, system, I’ve eaten so many things why didn’t you notify me of the aspects I can integrate like you do with traits?’

( Aspects are physical body parts which even a worthless person can see with their own eyes and system cannot determine integrable aspects without the marking.)

’ Oh, I see?’ he chose to ignore the obvious insult and continued swimming at a relatively fast pace. Along the way he had eaten every single creature he same across.

And he was humming a tune because he was finally able to gain a single point, it might not seem like much but considering the amount of points he can receive from normal animals and rank 1 beasts, it was a lot.

His happy mood was suddenly interrupted by a familiar powerful aura followed by an overwhelming killing intent but instead of being scared he grinned at the challenge.

The only thought in his mind was ’ How dare a mere water pig challenge a dragon?’
