The first evolution for a Beastmaster is usually from a basic Spirit Beast to a Spirit Transformation level, and typically doesn’t require a Catalyst Master.

Because basic Spirit Beasts are cheap, and if an evolution fails, they can directly replace it, plus the bond with the Beastmaster isn’t that deep yet.

After the second evolution, it’s different, the Spirit Beast has been with the Beastmaster for a longer time, the bond is deeper, and the chances of higher-level evolution failures are lower.

Since Lin Chen’s level is so low, Chen Yun directly excluded him.
