Beast World: I Became the Little Villain's Mommy
Chapter 85 - 77 Picked Up Nan Mo_1
CHAPTER 85: CHAPTER 77 PICKED UP NAN MO_1
Nan Mo emerged from the small tribe, holding the little female baby. The Day of Blazing Flames was approaching, and he knew that if he remained in a weak tribe, he would die.
I wonder how my three brothers are faring, he thought. As for Mother...
He wasn’t as clean as Bei Ji, as clever as Xi Qing, or as fiery and spirited as Dongchi. He couldn’t speak; he was disabled. His mother’s gaze had never fallen upon him. She didn’t love him, and so, he didn’t care about her either. There was no sadness in Nan Mo’s heart; he had grown accustomed to all this and accepted it.
"Little snake cub?"
A cold voice rang out from behind him. Nan Mo turned to see two cold-blooded Snake Beastmen appearing behind him. The one in front was tall and handsome, his body enveloped in purple snake scales like armor. His eyes were proud and indifferent, yet Nan Mo felt a strong sense of familiarity from him. The one behind him appeared to be a black Snake Beastman like himself, but he wasn’t a Sen Ran; he was another type of Snake Beastman. His face was pale and grim, devoid of expression. Snake Beastmen were not friendly towards one another. Nan Mo warily hugged the little girl in his arms tighter.
"Such a small Sen Ran Snake Beastman," She Ying said expressionlessly. "Sir, his ears resemble yours a bit."
She Wang looked down at the tiny Sen Ran Snake Beastman. For some reason, looking at him, he felt a sense of kinship.
"What is your name? Which tribe are you from?" She Wang asked.
Nan Mo couldn’t speak; he remained silent.
She Ying continued expressionlessly, "Sir, this Sen Ran Snake Beastman is mute."
Nan Mo’s grip on the small female tightened further.
"He seems to want us not to kill the little female," She Ying added. "Sir, these two little Beastmen won’t survive if we leave them."
She Wang’s eyes narrowed slightly. "Kid, can you nod or shake your head?"
Nan Mo nodded.
"Are you a wandering Snake Beastman? No tribe left?" She Wang asked.
After pondering for a moment, Nan Mo nodded again.
"Sir, he has no tribe," She Ying stated.
I really wish She Ying would shut up, She Wang thought.
She Wang stared at the little fellow before him. This four-year-old gave him an indescribable sense of familiarity. Nan Mo looked at the male in front of him, who also gave him a strong sense of familiarity. Large eyes met small eyes. They regarded each other for a while, creating an atmosphere She Ying couldn’t penetrate.
Finally, unexpectedly, She Wang asked, "Would you like to follow me?"
A four-year-old Snake Beastman cub, one who hasn’t even condensed a Beast Crystal, is clearly a burden, She Ying thought. Lord She Wang is heading to White Eagle City, yet he’s considering taking on this burden? When has Lord She Wang ever been so kind?
She Ying was very surprised by Lord She Wang’s decision.
Nan Mo raised his head to look at She Wang, now understanding the source of his familiarity with him. He and... Big Brother Dongchi... they look a bit alike, Nan Mo realized.
"Are you willing?" She Wang asked again.
Nan Mo hesitated for a moment, then nodded quickly. He wasn’t alone; he was also holding a female infant he had found. Nan Mo keenly sensed that She Wang wasn’t some great philanthropist, so he had been careful not to let the baby girl become a burden to the group. But the little female cub was, after all, too young. Without milk, she soon started crying, "WAAH! WAAH!"
She Wang glanced back coolly.
Nan Mo looked up at him, his eyes seeming to say, I’ll stop her crying quickly.
She Wang walked over indifferently. His imposing aura was so powerful that Nan Mo stood there, very subdued. The male, She Wang, plucked the cub from Nan Mo’s arms. Nan Mo, well-behaved, didn’t dare to move.
She Wang’s lips curled into a wicked smile. "Picked up one, got another free, eh? This weakling is like a Long-eared Beast. A feeble Long-eared Beastman?"
It was uncertain whether the suckling baby in the cold-blooded Snake Beastman’s hands understood She Wang’s words. She burst into tears, flailing her arms and legs, and then a stream of milk-scented liquid squirted out.
She Wang was likely stunned. The handsome and domineering male had been sprayed right in the face. He flung her away instantly. Startled, She Ying rushed to catch her.
She Wang wiped his face, his complexion growing even darker. Steam rose from his body, instantly evaporating the female cub’s urine.
"What in the world did you pick up?!" She Wang’s face was pitch-black.
Nan Mo had picked up the little female cub, She Wang had picked up Nan Mo, and the little female cub had peed all over She Wang’s face—a chain of events.
She Ying already felt waves of murderous intent emanating from his lord. No one has ever dared to pee on Lord She Wang’s head. He must be absolutely furious this time, She Ying thought.
Nan Mo, however, remained calm and quiet. Since birth, he had never had a father-beast, and his family had struggled to survive. Although I don’t know if this male is my father-beast, this feeling of vindication is quite satisfying, Nan Mo thought, a sense of relief washing over him.
Perhaps because Nan Mo appeared too composed, She Wang turned and sat down on a nearby stone.
"Kid, you don’t even have a Grey Crystal. You’re too weak."
Nan Mo stood there obediently.
"There are plenty of rocks here. Show me your sharp claws and start splitting them."
Nan Mo’s eyes widened as he looked incredulously at the powerful Beastman before him. He seems so strong, incredibly strong, Nan Mo thought. Is he going to teach me how to cultivate? Snake Beastmen aren’t like other races. They’re usually indifferent to each other; mutual aid is unheard of among them. Yet this Snake Beastman seems to want to help me train.
Seeing She Ying carry the little female cub into the mountains to find a nursing beast, Nan Mo felt relieved. He turned and walked towards a nearby stream, which was bordered by huge rocks. He extended his hand, and black snake claws emerged, sharp talons protruding. Then, he struck out at the stones.
She Wang, propping his chin on his hand, watched the very obedient Nan Mo. In the past, with my usual irritability, if I encountered such a burden, I’d ignore it on a good day. On a bad day, I might torment it, or even kill it—anything was possible. But today, I can’t bring myself to abandon this cub. This feeling is rather strange. This black Sen Ran... although he hasn’t condensed a Beast Crystal yet, I can sense his aptitude is excellent. He’s worth cultivating.
As for White Eagle City... I originally planned to go there to deal with those dreams. But now, it seems continuing to have them isn’t such a big deal, She Wang mused.
He closed his eyes slightly and lay down for a short nap.
This cub, though, I want to spend more time cultivating him, he thought further. And his muteness—I find that displeasing too. I’ll have to find a way to cure it.
