CHAPTER 217: [LILITH WANTS TO SLEEP] - SILVANUS’S PART (3)

Drake saw Silvanus zoning out again, and an inexplicable irritation surged within him.

"Hey, don’t tell me that even though you’re a priest, you still can’t summon a god?!"

Silvanus glanced at him and replied reasonably, "That’s right. The gods only choose their believers. Since you’re already here, you can try summoning one yourself."

There was nothing wrong with Silvanus’s answer, but seeing the slight smirk at the corner of his lips made Drake’s fists itch. He didn’t know why—he just wanted to go at Silvanus. And yet, in the end, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He could kick anyone else without hesitation, but when it came to Silvanus, he just... couldn’t.

Ridiculous! What makes this guy any better than the rest?! Drake roared inwardly, his expression even darker—any outsider would’ve thought the whole world owed him something.

At that moment, they arrived at a house nestled within a forest of sunflowers.

The house had two stories. It was pretty tall, yet for some reason, it gave off a strangely stifling feeling, like they were about to step into a dollhouse.

Silvanus looked at the wall before them and said, "It really is made of sweets..."

"This place is made of chocolate!"

On the other side, Cocona had already broken off a piece of the wall and popped it into her mouth. She licked her lips and said, "If Bella were here, she’d love this."

Alice was on the verge of tears. Could everyone stop acting like they’re strolling through their backyard?!

"Waaah, please don’t break the walls!"

The rabbit leapt over, hugging the wall where a piece had been torn off, rubbing it with both paws as it sobbed, "If you eat it all, we won’t have a house to live in, hu hu hu!"

"This girl is truly ill-mannered, mew!"

The cat harshly criticized Cocona.

The two creatures huddled together, eyes brimming with tears. Looking at them, Cocona did seem like some bully tormenting the weak.

Cocona’s lips twitched. She shrugged, dusted off her hands, and returned to the group.

The cat opened the door and quickly pointed inside. "You’ll be staying on the first floor, mew! The second floor belongs to Lilith, mew!"

"You two aren’t coming in?" Silas suddenly asked.

The cat shook its head at that, its paws retreating slightly. Just as it was about to speak—

Drake, standing to the side, suddenly reached out and shoved the big cat straight into the house!

The cat’s eyes widened. "Rabbit! Save me, mew!"

The rabbit, still sobbing and hugging the wall, immediately sprang into action at the sound of the cat’s voice. Its speed was astonishing, creating a gust of wind that made the humans’ hair and clothes billow. All they could see was a white blur.

It caught the cat in a flash, then kicked off the ground, leaping far away—about three meters from the house—before bursting into loud sobs.

The cat also stomped its feet angrily. "You’re all so mean, mew! Lilith won’t want to play with any of you, mew!"

With that, the two animals clung to each other and ran off into the distance, as if terrified that Drake might throw them into the house again.

Their tears continued to flow, soaking into the earth. One had to wonder if they’d end up flooding the entire area someday with their weeping.

Silvanus couldn’t help but laugh a little at the thought.

Bang!

Drake raised his foot and kicked open the half-closed candy door in front of him, then strode inside, leading the way as if the house that had frightened those creatures was nothing to him.

As if to say—if we die, then so be it... But before that, we’ll shake the heavens.

Well, they had to go inside no matter what. But this group’s calm, unbothered attitude really was... one of a kind.

Alice still whispered beside Silvanus’s ear: "Priest Silvanus, don’t worry—we’ll make it safely!"

Silvanus nodded but said nothing.

"Bang!"

Up ahead, Drake kicked down yet another door, leading into what appeared to be their bedroom.

Silvanus: "..." He’s really like a walking demolition machine.

The room contained three bunk beds, enough for all of them. Other than that, there wasn’t a single piece of furniture—empty.

Cocona tapped on the bed frame and raised her brows. "This one’s not made of sugar."

Silvanus glanced at her, slightly worried she might try to taste the bed.

"Sil... Priest Silvanus, can I sleep with you?"

Just then, Leonard suddenly stepped in front of Silvanus, lowering his head as he spoke hesitantly. It was plain to see his exposed ears had turned red.

Silvanus: "..." Brother, these are bunk beds. Did you have to make it sound so suggestive?

Drake immediately clicked his tongue from the side in annoyance. "It’s not like you’re squeezing into the same bed—why the blushing? It’s still just sleeping, ha ha ha."

Leonard hung his head lower, like he wanted to bury his face in his chest. His lips were tightly pressed together, and the veins on his clenched fists were showing. He probably wished the ground would swallow him whole.

That was how he was, but Drake’s mouth never spared anyone.

Silvanus was just about to say something when Drake suddenly shoved Leonard aside. "Move. If you’re that embarrassed, then Silvanus will sleep with me."

With that, he climbed to the top bunk of Silvanus’s bed, claiming it as his territory. The bed let out a creaking groan under his weight, and Silvanus began to worry that it might collapse in the middle of the night—Drake would flatten him like dough!

Silvanus: "..." He seriously wanted to crack open Drake’s head and see what was inside.

[Ha ha ha, I’m dying—so both of them want to sleep with Silvanus, huh?]

[I knew it—totally Drake’s personality, no surprise there. And he still had the nerve to mock Leonard, even though he’s just the same!]

[Maybe Drake’s just annoyed with Leonard. When he gets bothered by someone, he never lets it go. He’s always been like that.]

[I find Leonard’s behavior even more suspicious, honestly. That guy’s intuition is always on point!]

Leonard had his mouth slightly open, eyes wide, looking at Silvanus, then glancing up at Drake.

Poor kid—he probably didn’t expect Drake to be that shameless.

Meanwhile, Drake was smugly swinging his legs from the top bunk.

Silvanus’s expression darkened. He stood up and walked to the bunk next to them.

At the same time, Silas looked over at him. Even with his eyes shut, Silvanus was sure Silas could still see him.

Before Silvanus could say anything, Silas had already scooted over to make room and said, "I’ll take the top bunk."

Silvanus didn’t comment. He felt everyone saw him as so delicate he couldn’t even handle climbing into bed.

Drake had sat up and was squinting down at Silvanus and Silas sitting next to each other, the vein on his forehead pulsing visibly. Silvanus was genuinely confused—no one had done anything to him.

As for Leonard, he had resigned himself to his fate. Slumped on a bed, lips pressed tightly together, the rims of his eyes barely visible beneath his long, reddish hair. He looked like he might burst into tears like that rabbit from earlier.

Come on, Leonard, I’m not even Nerio. This kind of behavior is scaring me!

"Lilith still hasn’t shown up. Hasn’t she come home yet?" Cocona suddenly spoke, easing the tense atmosphere a little.

Drake snorted. "Hope that Degenerate thing crushed her to death."

No... she wasn’t dead. As the comment section had speculated, Silvanus could sense that what he had destroyed in the dungeon had only been part of Lilith.

Silvanus guessed that her absence might be related to the dungeon’s nature.

"Priest Silvanus, could you help us understand more about the Degenerate?" Silas, sitting beside Silvanus, suddenly asked.

He knew Layla and the others outside were compiling reports, still closely observing the dungeon.

Silvanus had always come and gone unpredictably. Who knew when he’d vanish again? Having him here now was a rare chance to gather information on this new god.

Assuming it was a new god... Even though the dungeon system’s notification had said so, how this deity wielded its power made it seem like it might just destroy the world instead.
