CHAPTER 218: [LILITH WANTS TO SLEEP] - SILVANUS’S PART (4)

This felt more like a formality—describing and praising his own "cloak"—something Silvanus had grown far too familiar with. So much so that he no longer felt embarrassed about it. Feeling the attention of everyone in the room, Silvanus quickly shifted into performance mode.

I am a qualified actor, he thought to himself, then slowly said, "He is the Supreme One, the strongest god in God Nation..."

"That’s not true!"

"No way!"

Before Silvanus could finish his sentence, two voices rang out simultaneously from the bed opposite him.

Drake had already sat bolt upright, and Leonard’s eyes were wide open—though both were glaring at someone else, not at each other.

Alice said softly, "It’s the Prophet whose power far surpasses all others..."

Cocona chuckled. "Nerio can crush monsters with ease!"

"From the moment he appeared, the system already said Nerio is the strongest god!" Leonard raised his voice.

Drake sneered outright. "So if the system says the Prophet is the weakest, then he is the weakest? That’s stupid!"

"The one who holds dominion over time itself can’t possibly be weak." Silas suddenly spoke from the side, making Silvanus inwardly flinch.

What the hell? Did I fall into a nest of believers? And worse, they were splitting into factions!

[hahaha are we about to witness a live believer brawl?]

[makes sense tho, there are two top-tier god believers here lmaoo, no way Silvanus can please all of them]

[Fight fight fight kkkkkkk]

[who would’ve thought the first threat wouldn’t be a monster lol]

[One vote for Team Captain Drake, Leonard is such a chicken!]

[Give Leonard a drop of Drake’s blood and then let’s see who’s the chicken hahaha]

[There’s a reason Nerio chose Leonard as his top believer.]

[I finally get it now. All the gods taste the same— like the strong!]

[Nah, Degenerate has a different taste, he likes the ones who sob the loudest hahaha]

[Don’t even mention it! Not only Asta’s heart, but mine’s broken too! Degenerate, give Aurora back!!]

Silvanus: "..." These comments were utterly unserious.

It’s not like he wanted to be a scammer. He had to act—to survive!

Silvanus remained calm, as if completely unaffected. "That’s right. Degenerate is the strongest god... so far."

So far—meaning in the future, who knew who’d be stronger!

Drake scoffed but didn’t argue further. After all, this was just Silvanus giving a summary. Prophet was the strongest! With a top-tier believer like himself, it would be impossible for the Prophet to be weak. Drake felt his logic was perfectly sound.

Leonard pressed his lips together, still dissatisfied, but said nothing more.

Silvanus: "..." quietly wiped cold sweat.

Is this really what life as a god is supposed to be like?!

Clenching his teeth inwardly, Silvanus continued, "Don’t expect him to go out of his way to save everyone. He also enjoys taking pleasure in others’ pain—his personality is quite vicious."

"Sounds more like a heretic god to me, haha," Drake scoffed.

Silvanus gave him a cold stare.

Drake shrugged. He’d nearly forgotten—Silvanus was a loyal dog to the gods. The others had their faiths, but Silvanus? He believed in all of them. A true multi-faith opportunist—no sincerity at all!

"Sometimes Degenerate will save everyone," Silvanus offered in defense.

"So it depends on his mood, huh?" Cocona remarked.

Alice murmured, "Even if Nerio is cruel, he doesn’t take joy in torturing people to death like that..."

"Nerio is a good god!" Leonard seized the opportunity to boost his deity’s reputation.

Alright then, in the end,, Degenerate would become the measuring stick, wouldn’t he? Unlike him, every other god suddenly looked saintly, radiating holy light.

Well, that was the result Silvanus was aiming for anyway.

[Look at Silvanus’s expression lol]

[My beautiful man, please don’t frown! I like Degenerate too! These people don’t understand him!]

[Why isn’t Asta here to fight for Degenerate?]

[Hahaha, are we sure Asta would fight for Degenerate? He’d fight for Aurora, but Degenerate... maybe not]

[Yeah, all he cares about are big boobs lmao]

[Can you stop laughing? Asta’s hurt this time!]

"I’ve said it before—from the beginning, the gods chose humans. Humanity never had the right to choose."

Silvanus said in a low voice. With Nerio as the comparison, Degenerate will inevitably be accepted again soon.

He might not gain many believers, but in contrast, the number of believers for Prophet and Nerio would surely increase. Compared to Degenerate, those two gods looked far better.

"What about Degenerate’s taste for turning women into men?"

Drake suddenly asked.

Silvanus: "..." Please stop being curious. Even Prophet, the one you worship, is just a cosplay creation of mine!

Cocona called out from the other side: "What’s wrong with that? Do I look like a man to you? If I could change my voice, I’d switch to something cooler. Honestly, your voice isn’t bad at all." As she spoke, she patted her short silver hair.

Though he was being complimented, Drake looked visibly irritated.

"Let’s focus on this dungeon for now," Silvanus said.

"From the last dungeon, we can see Lilith is mighty—probably the strongest boss we’ve faced so far, especially since she can pass through other dungeons." Silas paused, then added, "Although Degenerate did destroy a part of her, we still can’t afford to let our guard down."

After saying this, Silas felt his words were unnecessary. This was just a standard dungeon briefing, but for the people here, it wasn’t needed. They might look relaxed, but they were more vigilant than anyone else.

There was just one person he was concerned about. Silas instinctively looked toward Silvanus—this was his first time entering a dungeon.

"Lilith is called the Dark Night Princess, but this place isn’t gloomy at all," Alice thought aloud. It was the opposite of the black void world they had just come from.

"Maybe that’s why she can’t sleep," Drake said mockingly without care, then lay back on his bed and stopped participating in the discussion.

The bed frame creaked under his clenched grip, like it could splinter into dust at any moment.

[That hit too hard lol—don’t know if Drake meant it or just got lucky]

[Doesn’t matter whether it was luck or not. The key is, the others noticed it.]

Thanks, random viewers. Either way, I’m paying attention now, Silvanus thought.

"I’ll go take a look around. Anyone coming with me?"

Silas suddenly stood up. Though he made it sound open-ended, his gaze dropped straight to Silvanus.

Silvanus nodded and stood. "I’ll go with you."

"Then I’ll go too." Alice quickly got up, and Cocona hopped off her bed.

Seeing this, Drake bolted upright. If everyone left, he’d be stuck alone with Leonard? The thought alone made him want to kick Leonard out of the room.

Without hesitation, Drake snapped, "You go out with them too!"

Leonard flinched slightly at the shout, then dejectedly walked over to Silvanus, accidentally brushing against him.

Silvanus turned to look.

He glanced at Drake, then lowered his eyes to Leonard. Finally, he gently patted Leonard on the head and said, "Let’s go."

Leonard had always been thin and frail. Even with improved nutrition lately, he was still much shorter than Silvanus. Poor kid—it was better he didn’t stay with Drake.

Drake might be a good person, but he was only truly good to the Prophet.

Watching the scene, Drake felt even more annoyed for some reason. Wisps of black flame leaked from him, slipping out of his control.

He grabbed his head, frustrated, collapsing back onto the bed. It felt like he was about to explode.

"Drake didn’t mean it. It seems like his power’s gotten harder to control than before."

As they stepped out of the candy-colored house, Silvanus lifted his cloak hood and spoke to Leonard.

The others—Silas and the rest—looked at Silvanus with slight surprise.

Leonard pressed his lips together, lost in thought. Silvanus added, "Of course, that doesn’t excuse his behavior. Just ignore him. Don’t take it personally."

"You’re still protecting him..." Leonard murmured so softly that only he could hear it.

He clutched a corner of Silvanus’s slightly worn cloak, his hand trembling.
