Becoming a God Starts with Acting
Chapter 243 243: [Lilith Wants to Sleep] - Silvanus’s Part (END)
"I have heard your wish."
A voice echoed from deep within Lilith's mind.
Lilith did not know who it was—her head hurt so much. Die, all of you, just die, die!
"Aaaaaa! What the hell is this?!"
The child's body on the bed suddenly burst into flames.
The man only had time to scream those words before turning to dust.
The flames spread with absurd speed, engulfing the entire castle and sealing off every path, leaving no one able to escape or survive.
All the guests, nobles, servants—every last turned into ashes.
Mother, I cannot grow up well. That bright future was burned away with everyone in this castle, buried in ashes along with you.
"Clack."
The sound of a door opening echoed as Silvanus entered, only to find Lilith sitting on the bed, holding a photo in her hands, surrounded by stuffed animals.
She wore a princess dress, sitting quietly on the bed like a beautiful porcelain doll.
Sunlight streamed through the window, making everything seem so bright and blissful.
Though the castle outside was charred black by raging flames, Lilith's room remained tidy and warm—her little haven, never to be destroyed.
Hearing the sound of the door, the girl on the bed turned toward Silvanus.
That delicate face carried heavy dark circles beneath her eyes, as if she hadn't slept for a long time.
Suddenly, she smiled softly and said, "You've finally come."
[Oh God, does this mean I must say goodbye to The Dark Night Princess? No, I can't accept that!]
[Look at the dark circles under her eyes… that child needs to sleep.]
[Suddenly this program flashes back to the past— even though Silvanus altered that part, it's not hard to guess what Lilith went through…]
[Damn it, the villain's backstory— I don't want to cry, this show was supposed to be for drawing pure evil villains, hu hu hu.]
[Silvanus, save Lilith.]
[Hard to say.]
"Why aren't you fighting outside?"
Lilith sat quietly in her room while the Zarukel family was battling against the humans.
Silvanus wasn't sure if any humans would survive if she were to step onto the battlefield, but he knew for sure their situation would be far worse than it was now.
"I just want to sleep."
"I slept a little just now—there were no nightmares. But… it was far too short."
Lilith smiled as she spoke.
By then, Silvanus had already walked to her bedside.
The girl lifted her head to look at him:
"I don't need anyone else, Silvanus. I will never enter a dungeon again. I only need you. Will you stay with me?"
Silvanus should have killed Lilith on the spot to prevent her from saying anything dangerous, yet strangely, at that moment, he only stood still, his eyes lowered as he looked at her.
"Stay with me… please?"
Her eyes glowed red, two magic circles appearing within them. Each word she spoke seemed laced with a drug, carrying its current that wound into Silvanus's mind.
She hated the gods—those who never answered her.
She had sworn that if there truly were a god in this world, she would kill them.
Yet when she caught that divine scent, she couldn't resist drawing near, pretending to be fragile.
The god was so gentle, and that divine fragrance wasn't so bad… but still, she hated the gods, she told herself.
Even now, wanting Silvanus to stay with her was nothing more than an attempt to find the right opportunity to deal with him. Nothing more, nothing less.
"So this is what you've been saving your strength for?"
Silvanus's voice rang out suddenly. Lilith's eyes widened in shock, her lips parting but no words coming. She hadn't expected Silvanus to be still awake.
Her lips trembled, then she bit them tight as tears suddenly spilled down her face.
"No… it wasn't supposed to be like this, hic… if you were here, I wouldn't have nightmares anymore. I'd sleep so well. I want to sleep. I just want to sleep… hic, hic…"
Had she not cried, it might have been easier. But her sudden tears left Silvanus momentarily at a loss, though his expression remained cold.
He stepped forward. Lilith didn't strike at him, perhaps already accepting that her resistance was meaningless.
Silvanus raised a hand and gently stroked her head, his voice soft:
"Don't cry anymore."
Lilith lifted her eyes to him, her gaze shimmering like starlight.
"Close your eyes," Silvanus said again.
She seemed surprised but only pressed her lips together, tilted her head with a smile, and the sunlight poured over them both, so dazzling it was hard to see anything else.
"If only you could have come sooner… my god."
Her voice was so innocent, so clear, so beautiful.
"Sleep well," Silvanus whispered.
Director's Space, activate.
Available actor slots: 4/5.
The light quickly faded. Lilith's room turned into a gray ruin, full of dust and cobwebs, no longer bearing any trace of its former brilliance and warmth.
[So in the end Lilith still died, hu hu hu, such cruelty—Silvanus, I hate you!]
[I thought Silvanus had softened a little, but he didn't even frown once.]
[The only thing he knows how to do is pat someone's head, damn it. Next round, let the monsters win this wretched show already!]
[No way. Lilith might be pitiful, but all monsters deserve to die.]
The audience shouted furiously in the comments, though no one replied.
Boom! Rumble rumble rumble!
At that moment, the entire castle shook violently.
The fortress had long been unable to withstand the chaos of humans and monsters clashing. It should have collapsed ages ago—only Lilith's existence had held it together until now.
"Silvanus still hasn't come down! What the hell is he doing up there for so long?!"
Drake growled in fury, looking ready to charge upstairs to find him.
Silas pulled him back:
"Stop running around. Nothing's going to happen to Silvanus!"
"How do you know? He still hasn't shown us Lilith's heart. What if he's off trying to get himself killed?"
Drake's simple mind was suddenly filled with countless scenarios.
Silas: "...Do you really think Silvanus is that kind of person?"
Drake paused.
"Right. If anyone's going to die first, he'd make sure we die before him."
Even so, Drake still wanted to go upstairs to find Silvanus. Whether he was alive or dead, at least they should see his corpse.
[Congratulations, humans, for clearing the dungeon 'Lilith Wants to Sleep.' Countdown to dungeon closure: 10, 9, 8…]
The dungeon system's cold announcement rang out. They would be leaving this place before the castle completely collapsed.
At that moment, Silvanus stood by the window, his gaze cast far into the distance. The sunlight within this dungeon was truly brilliant—brilliant in a real way.
Another little world, closed.
Silvanus closed his eyes, letting the blinding light engulf him.
[…2, 1, 0]
The humans turned into streams of light and escaped the dungeon. At the same time, the towering castle finally collapsed with a thunderous roar, crumbling down and taking this entire world with it.
May that little girl's nightmare be buried here forever.
May everyone find a sunflower garden and a candy house of their own.
