Becoming The Bigshot's Only Love After Breaking Her Engagement
Chapter 354: Clearheaded Tuantuan
CHAPTER 354: CHAPTER 354: CLEARHEADED TUANTUAN
"What important matter requires hosting a banquet?" Feng Qianru asked in surprise.
She carefully considered the recent dates and couldn’t think of any important occasion that would warrant Zhan Hanjue setting aside time for a banquet.
Everyone knew that Zhan Hanjue highly valued his personal time.
In recent years, aside from the children’s birthdays, even on her birthday, he would just show up briefly and then leave hastily.
No matter how many friends and family she invited, he remained indifferent, giving no regard to appearances.
What was different about today that he actually wanted to host a banquet?
"You’ll find out in due time." Zhan Hanjue said, acting mysteriously.
Then he suddenly smiled and reminded her, "Xia Wenyuan is also coming back."
Feng Qianru’s face stiffened as she watched Zhan Hanjue leave, her heart pounding.
What did he mean by that?
Why did he specifically mention Xia Wenyuan?
Could he know something?
That shouldn’t be possible. Over the years, she’s had very little private contact with Xia Wenyuan; he shouldn’t have noticed anything.
"Mom, did dad leave again?"
Mumu came out with a drawing he wanted to show his dad, only to find he was gone. Saddened, he asked Feng Qianru.
Feng Qianru snapped back to reality and patted his head, "Dad had something to attend to and left early. You’ll show him next time."
Mumu’s face clearly showed signs of sadness as he walked away, disappointed.
Feng Qianru’s expression darkened.
In truth, she no longer cared about Zhan Hanjue’s attitude toward her.
Initially, she had hoped they could return to the innocent closeness from before they got married.
But once they got back together, she realized it was all her wishful thinking.
They hadn’t even shared a room, and whenever she suggested it, Zhan Hanjue always prioritized her health as an excuse to refuse.
Damn it.
She’s a woman; balancing yin and yang is natural. It felt like he was a succubus, draining her energy every time they were together.
Gradually, she became indifferent to it, only hoping to maintain her position and provide a good life for their two children.
But now... even that seemed a luxury.
Zhan Hanjue wasn’t particularly fond of the two children either.
Was it his nature, or because...?
"Maybe I should start making plans for myself sooner rather than later."
Feng Qianru murmured to herself.
The thought of Xia Wenyuan’s return sparked a flicker of excitement in her heart.
"Boss, where to?"
Zhan Hanjue got into the car, and the driver asked for the destination.
"The usual place," the man replied.
Thinking of Little Tuantuan softened his heart. When he left in the morning, Tuantuan was still asleep. Now she should be awake, and he wanted to see his precious darling.
The driver nodded and immediately started the car towards the apartment.
However, neither of them noticed the little stowaway in the car.
The little one hid under the seat, feeling triumphant at not being discovered.
As the car stopped, the driver opened the door for Zhan Hanjue to step out.
Zhan Hanjue entered the apartment to find Tuantuan typing away on a laptop.
"Daddy, you’re back."
Tuantuan, upon seeing Zhan Hanjue come in, excitedly ran over and hugged his leg.
Despite having just met, the little one was already very fond of him.
Zhan Hanjue couldn’t resist picking him up, kissing him, and asked, "Did you miss Daddy?"
This must be the power of blood ties.
Even though they had just met, this kind of warmth inevitably emerged.
"Of course I missed Daddy. I wanted to call you but didn’t know your phone number. Can you tell me your phone number so I can call you?"
"Alright, remember this."
Zhan Hanjue recited it once and had the little one repeat it back.
The little one flawlessly repeated every digit.
Zhan Hanjue smiled.
Actually, since yesterday, he sensed that his son’s intelligence was above average.
Having raised two kids already, and even though he hadn’t been very close in the past two years, he knew what children at this age were typically like.
His son was clearly different from the average child.
It seemed he should take his son for an IQ test when he had the time.
Understanding his son’s intelligence would help him know how to relate to him and how to nurture him.
"Did you have breakfast? What are you doing?" Zhan Hanjue asked gently.
Tuantuan immediately replied, "I had breakfast already. Chinese breakfasts are so varied and delicious. I’m sending an email to my uncle because he couldn’t find me and must be worried. I need to let him know I’m safe."
"Darling, wait a moment. You can email him to let him know you’re safe, but you shouldn’t tell him you’re with Daddy," Zhan Hanjue advised quickly.
"Why?" Little Tuantuan asked, confused.
Zhan Hanjue chuckled and gently touched his face, "Do you want Mommy to come back?"
"Of course," Little Tuantuan’s eyes sparkled.
"If Uncle can’t find you, he’ll naturally tell Mommy, and that’ll make her come back. Do you understand what I mean?"
"I understand, but Daddy, I came to find you because I want to know what kind of person you are. I can’t help you win Mommy’s heart. If she likes you, she’ll come back to you. If she doesn’t, I can’t help." Tuantuan said quite earnestly.
Zhan Hanjue chuckled and stroked his head, "I know, Daddy doesn’t need your help, I can manage on my own."
Suddenly, he thought of Feng Jiuzun.
"Do you know Feng Jiuzun?"
"Mr. Feng?" Little Tuantuan was surprised, then nodded.
Zhan Hanjue frowned, feeling quite jealous, "You call him Mr. Feng?"
Little Tuantuan nodded, "Mr. Feng has always taken care of me. Mommy is so busy; we don’t know what she is busy with. She doesn’t talk to us or Mr. Feng, so many times, it’s just me with Mr. Feng. Mr. Feng is a lovely person, and I like him a lot."
"So who do you like more, him or me?" Zhan Hanjue felt uneasy.
He had missed so much of his son’s growth, letting someone else take advantage.
"Daddy, don’t be childish and ask me such questions. They’re hard for me to answer," Little Tuantuan replied, troubled.
Zhan Hanjue laughed, immediately apologized, "Sorry, darling, Daddy was wrong. I shouldn’t have asked you that. I won’t ask again."
"Daddy, I like you a lot now." Little Tuantuan reached out and touched his face.
Zhan Hanjue kissed his small hand with a smile and spent some more time with him before leaving for the office.
Little Tuantuan had already sent the email to Ye Shao, who had seen it and replied, asking where he was.
However, Little Tuantuan promptly logged off, hiding himself.
The maid who looked after him went to cut some fruit, leaving Little Tuantuan alone on the sofa, playing on the computer.
As he was playing happily, the door suddenly opened, and a pretty girl with a bun hairstyle walked in.
Little Tuantuan slipped off the sofa.
"Who are you?"
"I should be asking you, who are you?" The girl placed her hands on her hips and questioned fiercely.
Little Tuantuan frowned in confusion and replied seriously, "My name is Tuantuan. I’ve told you who I am, now you tell me, who are you?"
