The recently developed Wanlan Fragrance was precious, after all, it was still a new variety with high research value. The Smith Family had went through their connections to transplant two of them into the manor, and they were growing quite beautifully.
However, Ellen was leisurely relaxing in the countryside and had several of them transplanted over for her.
Sure enough, she was very much indulged.
Ellen merely hummed a light “Hmm” in response.
Whatever she requested, they would, of course, fulfill it to the best of their ability.
Even if it wasn’t her field of expertise, as long as she was interested, what if she managed to cultivate a new variant?
After all, it wasn’t as if she hadn’t done such a thing before.
Ruffy Smith saw her indifferent demeanor and just stood by with his arms folded, watching with interest.
It was only in front of Ellen that he had such patience, if it were anyone else, he would have left already.
Within two seconds, his cellphone rang. He answered lazily with a “Hello?”
A few words were said on the other side of the line, and his brows raised slightly, “Hmm?”
After speaking, he glanced at Ellen, then suddenly turned around and bent down to speak into the phone, “I’ll come over and take a look.”
Ellen didn’t know what he was up to, and for the moment, she didn’t feel like bothering with him.
She didn’t like to be disturbed while she was busy with her work; his departure was actually a relief.

On the newly constructed road outside Haran Village, a brand-new car drove along.
The driver, steering a luxury car, felt quite unwilling at heart upon seeing that it was such a dilapidated place.
Had it not been for the generous sum the young blond in the back seat had offered, he would never have come to this godforsaken place!
Even though the road was newly constructed, the countryside was still dusty and dirty everywhere.
In the back seat of the car sat Daisy Wood and Edward Wood.
Since Daisy had a falling out with her father, Daniel Wood, a few days ago, he had been furious. Daniel vowed not to have any dealings with Ellen nor to allow the Wood Family members to contact her.
After all, the money from Lucy Wood was hers, and when they contacted her, Lucy paid them no attention, leaving them without recourse.
Daniel even said the money should be considered a severance payment, and even if Ellen begged to return to the Wood Family, they would never agree.
They had agreed to this, but Edward couldn’t swallow his pride.
He believed Lucy’s money was the Wood Family’s money, and the Wood Family’s money was his money.
His money, why should it be divided with an outsider?
Even if Ellen was his biological sister, as long as she hadn’t returned to the Wood Family, she was an outsider.
An outsider had no right to his money!
Edward secretly found Daisy and through a mix of intimidation and enticement, got the address from her and had her bring him to Haran Village.
Daisy had mentioned that Haran Village was just a bunch of old, weak, sick, and young folks in the countryside; hardly any young people were seen, and Ellen was living there alone.
Having heard this, Edward got an idea. He was determined to demand money from Ellen, and he couldn’t believe she would refuse to give it to him—what was she going to do, stop him?
Of course, just to be safe, Edward had spent money on hiring two bodyguards.
The two bodyguards were big and tall, trained by a security company, and demanded several thousand dollars a day—an expensive rate.
As Daisy watched the car slowly enter the village, she was still a bit worried, “Brother, you’re just after the money, you won’t do anything to our sister, right?”
Edward responded to her somewhat impatiently, “I know. She’s still technically my sister. If she gives me the money, there won’t be any problem. Of course, if she refuses, well, that’s a different story.”
