CHAPTER 113: WARDEN OF THE RIFT. BLINK

The mana inside of Alex’s soul sea surged like turbulent waves after he directly jumped to the mid stage of the Archmage rank, his soul seas expanded rapidly as new stars formed at a fast speed and filled the now expensed soul sea.

Due to the force of the mana outburst after Alex’s advanced to the Archmage rank, the corpses he was sitting on had been blasted to bits and the area around him had been flattened into a large crater.

It was as if an explosion had set off here.

Alex summoned his system profile and took a look, a big smile appeared under the all-knowing mask. Although his exp points almost disappeared, he was very satisfied with the result.

Not only had he crafted the spell that he wanted successfully, but he had also reached the Archmage rank as well!

Alex closed his eyes and felt the power rushing through his body, he felt like he had become a god and nothing was impossible.

He spread out his senses as an Archmage and his senses instantly covered dozens of miles around him.

Alex withdrew his senses as silver-white stars appeared around him the next second; he wanted to test out the spell that he had crafted!

Shiny stars appeared around Alex one after the other quickly and the space around him quickly looked like a small galaxy with tens of stars surrounding him.

After the stars appeared, they began to link with each other and formed star patterns before forming four large star constellations.

It was a spectacular and breathtaking sight and everything had still happened in under one second! The speed was just out of the world and would make countless powerful mages die from jealousy.

After the four star patterns formed, Alex slowly opened his mouth and mentioned the name of the spell.

"Warden of the rift,"

Whoosh!

In the next instant, after Alex called out the spell, a gust of soft wind blew and seemed to carry Alex’s consciousness along with it. Everywhere suddenly became silent for a while as if he was at the bottom of the ocean.

When Alex opened his eyes, it was as if he could see hundreds of miles around him at a glance! He wasn’t in a bird’s view like when he used void walk, but he wasn’t in his normal view either; it was as if he was everywhere at the same time.

But this feeling quickly stopped as Alex’s view returned to normal; he was back to where he was standing previously, but his eyes were currently glowing brightly behind the mask.

The spell was still active, and Alex could sense everything within a hundred-mile radius of him; his vision would instantly move along with his thoughts, and he could see everything within the range of the spell!

The exact shape of the place, the magic beasts, he could see everything clearly!

That wasn’t all, Alex could hear everything within this range as well. The growls of magic beasts, the passing wind, the heartbeats of the beasts, and even the blood rushing through their veins; Alex could hear everything!

He could also feel every single mana in the area as well.

Be it the mana coming from magic beasts, the mana in the air, or the ones coming out from natural items, he could feel everything!

Alex was very pleased with this effect, it was just as he wanted. This spell would make him be wherever he wanted without even being there, he could see, hear, and sense what was happening there from a hundred miles away!

The effect of a Mage’s senses could never reach such a level, this was exactly what Alex needed to solve the case of the missing people!

After calming down his excitement, Alex spent a few minutes getting used to the effects of the spell. While it was an incredible scouting ability, he was currently unable to filter the things he was hearing and everything was just being dumped in his ears as if he was in the middle of a concert.

After spending nearly thirty minutes trying to get used to the hearing ability of the spell, Alex had quickly gotten a hang of it and it was time for him to return.

Since he had finished earlier today than in previous days, he would stop by and sell all of the beast corpses in his possession. The next was going to be a big day since it was when he had decided to take action and look for the missing children.

There wasn’t any need to delay anymore since he now had what he was waiting for!

Now that he was an Archmage, Alex was now able to use the teleportation spell of the space element called "Blink".

Just like its name, the spell would allow the mage to teleport himself or any other target to a far distance in an instant. The size of the spell was enough to teleport a few people or larger objects but he just had to get the star constellations under whatever he wanted to teleport.

He could not teleport anything that was fixed into the ground and its bottom unseen.

As for how far he could teleport, Alex didn’t know and was about to find out.

He once again summoned the stars of the space element and formed four star constellations.

The four star constellations formed a large square before dropping to the ground around Alex, it was as if he was now standing on four glowing large formations.

"Blink," Alex muttered the spell’s name and vanished into a silver flicker the next moment along with the star constellations.

Alex appeared over fifty kilometres away from his previous location the next second, his body flicked into existence from a silver flash of light. Alex had set the direction of the spell toward Balon City so he had moved in that direction after using Blink.

He released his senses to determine how far he had gone, his expression turned awkward after realising that he had only teleported a bit over fifty kilometres.

The range of teleportation could not compare to the range that "Void Walk" covered!

Alex took a breath as he remembered that fifty kilometres was quite a long distance and he shouldn’t be upset. He would be able to reach Balon City if he blinked a few more times so it wasn’t too bad.

After reaching this conclusion, Alex continued to move toward Balon City.

[Skill: Void Walk, activated!]

.....

Alex arrived at Balon City a few seconds later. As usual, he directly appeared on the lowest floor of the Union building, surprising everyone there with his sudden appearance.

Not long after he appeared, three people came down to receive him. One of them was Owen while the other two were people who Alex had never seen before.

He inspected them and couldn’t help raising an eyebrow in surprise.

The two of them were at the Master mage rank!

Likewise, the two people who had come with Owen were also inspecting Alex. He noticed a brief look of surprise flash across their eyes before they controlled their expressions.

"Welcome, Mr Chen. It’s such a coincidence that you came today after not showing up for a few days. This is the branch leader, he returned today, and this is a representative from the Union Core Center that’s located in the capital." Owen introduced with a smile.

Alex raised an eyebrow under his mask as he looked at branch leader Clint, so this is the branch leader who had been away all this time and this other person is from the Union Core Center.

"Nice to meet you, Mr Chen. I’ve heard so much about you and what you’ve been doing while I was away, I really appreciate the help you have been giving our branch.

You’ve made more findings than us within just a few days, we’re really ashamed." Branch leader Clint stepped forward and extended a hand with a smile on his face. He was wearing a cropped leather jacket with a black inner shirt and brown pants, two large boots covering his two feet.

Alex stared at his outstretched hand before nodding silently, he didn’t shake the other party’s hands.

Branch leader Clint revealed a strange expression as he looked at the other party while still trying to maintain his smile, his hand still stretched out.

Seeing this, Owen was flustered and quickly whispered something to branch leader Clint’s ear. A look of realization appeared on the man’s face after Owen whispered to him as he stood straight.

"So that’s how it is, I understand. Please don’t mind my action just now," he said with a small smile at Alex. Alex once again nodded in response, but this time, he wasn’t silent as he added an "okay" with his nod.

"Come, come, let’s go up. We have a lot to discuss." Branch leader Clint voiced out, inviting everyone to the elevator under the eyes of the many explorers.

They were in a daze. Mr Chen’s reputation had grown in their hearts again.
