Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors
Chapter 153: Battling the windrend
CHAPTER 153: BATTLING THE WINDREND
Skreeeeeeee!
The bird let out another loud cry as it spread both of its wings to their full length, its enormous body dwarfing all of the mountains around it.
The wind blowing in the area instantly became more fierce with the movements of the bird and visible wind blades that were several times larger than humans could be seen.
Some of them crashed into the nearby mountains and easily tore through them. Some flew toward Alex as well but didn’t do anything after hitting his body.
He just stood there silently observing the bird. The colossal body of the bird was covered in dark coloured feathers that gleamed with metallic glints. Each feather was the size of a bus and looked like it could cut through anything.
Its enormous beak was yellow in colour and curved downward like a golden hook, its large red eyes gazed at Alex as if trying to suck out his soul.
With each flap of its wings, explosive sounds were generated and powerful gusts of wind swept through the area and travelled for hundreds of kilometres.
A far distance away from where Alex and the bird were, three figures could be seen rushing forward. They were Clint, William, and the Archmage.
At this moment, a loud bird cry was heard and the three of them immediately came to a stop. The next second, a violent gust of wind swept past them and the weather turned more chaotic.
"Seems like someone else has gotten there before us." The Archmage said with narrowed eyes. The two young people who were always beside him did not accompany him this time upon his order.
"Should we still keep going? This might be more dangerous than we estimated." Clint voiced out.
"It can’t be helped, we’ll have to make sure what the situation is. It’s a magic beast that, potentially at the Divine beast rank, is impossible for it not to be dangerous. Don’t worry, I have methods of guaranteeing our safety." The Archmage assured them.
The three of them resumed moving.
Meanwhile, back at the mountain range. The bird stopped making a commotion after seeing that the human in front of it was still fine.
It rose into the air without making a sound and stayed suspended in the sky while staring down at Alex with its glowing eye.
Its huge body blocked the sky behind it and cast a seemingly endless shadow over the mountain range.
"What are you?"
Alex watched the bird open its beak and a crisp voice echoed through the wind.
Alex "..."
He was shocked to hear the beast speak, he didn’t know that magic beasts could speak human language.
Alex didn’t respond to the bird’s question and activated the skill of his mask instead. Information about the beast immediately appeared in front of his eyes.
...
[Windrend: A Magic beast with the bloodline of a giant and wind spirit, can reach the Calamity beast rank at adulthood and can control wind to do its bidding.]
....
The information generated by the mask was short, but it gave Alex all of the information he needed to know about this creature.
’So it was a huge bird with a lot of potential.’ Alex thought to himself.
"Human, I asked you a question. Why have you come to disturb me?" The bird asked again after Alex didn’t reply the first time.
But again, Alex didn’t reply this time as another thought appeared in his mind.
A magic beast like this, wouldn’t he earn a fortune by selling its corpse and core?
At the thought of this, his eyes flashed with a sharp glint behind his mask.
"Windrend, do you know that your presence has harmed the lives of countless humans in the surrounding cities? I would have asked you to leave but what would that make me as a human?" Alex declared with a righteous tone.
The bird was stunned to hear Alex call out its name.
"Insolent human, you’re a fool for daring to ask me to leave despite knowing what I am.
I have lived for hundreds of years, but no human has dared to act so arrogantly before me. Don’t even think of begging for your life, you’ll be my meal for being arrogant!"
Immediately after saying those words, the bird flew higher into the air and flapped its wings. Then the next moment, countless wind spheres formed in front of its two wings before flying toward Alex at lightning speed.
Alex’s eyes were calm as he watched the incoming spheres. To him, their speed wasn’t that impressive but he didn’t feel like moving. So instead of dodging, Alex’s eye glowed with silver white light as the stars of the space element appeared around him and instantly formed two huge star constellations.
"Telekinesis!"
Alex mumbled softly, at the same time his eyes moved at lightning speed and glanced at all of the incoming spheres.
Immediately after, all of the spheres came to an abrupt stop in front of Alex.
The windrend was shocked again when it lost contact with its attacks and couldn’t control them any longer.
"What did you do?!" Its loud voice thundered through the air.
Swoosh!
Countless gigantic tornadoes suddenly spun into existence around the windrend before moving toward Alex, bringing dust and rocks along with them.
Alex controlled the spheres under his control and tossed them toward the tornadoes. Both attacks exploded immediately after they collided and caused a chaotic wind vortex all over the place.
The windrend flew higher into the air to avoid the chaotic wind that was blowing on the ground and destroying the surrounding mountains. The current wind vortex was sharp enough to rip even its hard feathers so it had to keep its distance.
Its red eyes scanned the ground as it tried to search for the strange human within the chaos below.
"What are you looking for?"
A calm voice suddenly sounded from above it, and the bird immediately lifted its head to see.
Above it, Alex was dropping at a slow speed that made it look like he was capable of flight and was just descending.
Just before reaching the level of the windrend, silver white stars appeared around him once more and formed a single star constellation.
"Space cut."
Alex voiced out.
Skreeeeeeee!!
The windrend let out a horrified screech as a portion of its feathers suddenly disappeared from its body, revealing a clear bird skin underneath.
Swoosh!!
It flapped its wings and immediately shot into the distance, disappearing from sight in the blink of an eye.
Alex "..."
Wasn’t this bird talking big just now? Why did it run away after taking just one attack from him?
Alex wasn’t planning to let it escape, and immediately went after it. He used Blink and Void Walk at the same time!
At the same time that the two of them disappeared from the sky above the mountain range, Clint and the other two who were with him had just managed to reach this location.
They had barely caught a glimpse of the huge bird through the green barrier that the Archmage was using to protect them from the sharp wind when the two(Alex and the windrend) disappeared.
What was left in front of them was a ruined mountain range.
The three "..."
Did they just risk their lives through the dangerous wind vortex just for those two to leave? And who was that person? Their eyes weren’t deceiving them, right?
It was Mr Chen!
