Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors
Chapter 222: Three weeks
CHAPTER 222: THREE WEEKS
Instructor Zoe, the instructor who would be teaching them General knowledge on Magic beasts, was an Archmage with the summoning element, therefore making her a perfect candidate for this class.
She started teaching after taking attendance. Instructor Zoe began her teaching from the ranks of magic beasts, refreshing the minds of the students on the strength level of magic beasts.
Of course, almost everyone knew about the ranks of magic beasts. From common beast rank to calamity beast rank.
But then, instructor Zoe disclosed that not all magic beasts were born with the strength of a common beast rank; some were actually unranked and didn’t possess any cores.
This information surprised Alex because he had killed a large number of magic beasts while farming exp points but not once had he encountered an unranked magic beast; he even wanted to doubt this piece of news.
Instructor Zoe could guess that the students were doubting her words, so she went on to say that unranked magic beasts were actually very rare to come across because, for some reason, they wouldn’t leave the territories they were born in.
Coming across an unranked Magic beast was rarer than finding a Divine rank Magic beast.
Alex was still doubtful and decided to ask Alicia when he had the chance.
The class moved on, and instructor Zoe introduced different types of magic beasts to the students with images appearing on the whiteboard.
There were three kinds of magic beasts. The ones that absorbed mana from the air and performed sets of actions to increase their strength.
These types were mostly afraid of humans and easily tamed, for example, the three-coloured rabbit that Alex had encountered some time back.
Running around all day would strengthen their muscles and bones while they subconsciously absorbed mana from the air to strengthen their cores.
This was how they grew stronger.
Another type of magic beasts were the most common ones that would hunt other magic beasts for their cores and humans. Although they couldn’t get mana cores from humans, eating human meat helped them grow stronger as well.
The effect would just be better if the human were a mage and had a strong body that had been nourished by mana.
As for the last type of magic beasts, they were the plant-looking kinds.
Magic beasts that possessed the form of trees and other plants. They could use the methods of the other two types of magic beasts to grow stronger, which meant that they could feed and also absorb mana to increase their strength.
But these types of magic beasts were rare in some places as they loved changing locations a lot.
Alex nodded, he was aware of this because he had come across similar magic beasts before.
After some time, the class ended and instructor Zoe left.
The students went to attend their next class.
Time passed and by the time evening approached, most of the students were done with their classes for the day and had returned to their dorm or cafeteria.
This included Alex. He went straight back to his room and after taking a quick bath and changing into more comfortable clothes, he brought out his formation note.
In today’s formation class, they found out that there were still more runes and symbols that instructor Henry didn’t show them yesterday.
Now, Alex had more runes and symbols to memorize.
....
Three weeks went by in a flash. It’s been three weeks since Alex and the other students started learning at Brandvel Magic University.
A lot of things had changed since then, one of which was the amount of new information and understanding that the students had gotten from attending classes.
In the General Mana class, Alex and the others had learned from the origin of Mana to ways of utilising mana more efficiently when casting spells or even using it to enhance the body.
Alex had been focused on classes during the past weeks and hadn’t made any approach towards Ellie yet; he would do that sometime later.
Of course, there was still Eric. The boy had been sticking to Alex during the past weeks, and their relationship had improved quite a lot; they would always spar with each other whenever they were free.
Although Alex would prefer to stay in his room and spend his free time studying the runes and symbols, Eric would come to look for him to spar. And since he couldn’t turn him down all the time, Alex agreed to spar with the boy a few times during the weeks.
In the spell structure class, Alex and the students were already learning why stars would appear at different locations when one tried casting spells.
For instance, the stars might appear above, in front, below, behind, or around a mage when they are casting different spells.
And other times, the star patterns would curve at different angles after forming.
The reason for this was the spell’s interaction with the elements. This was mostly to avoid unintended harm or it was the only way that the spell would work.
In the case of the latter, it meant that the creator of the spell had made it so that the spell would only work that way.
General magic knowledge class was surprisingly slow, they were still talking about elements and awakening.
In General knowledge on Magic beasts, they were currently learning about the behaviours of magic beasts and how to interact with them.
This would be helpful if one were trying to tame a magic beast or show that they weren’t a threat to the beast.
Alex had also attended the Magic theory/irregular magic application class.
All that happened in that class was talks about magical stuff that didn’t seem realistic and talks about unconventional use of magic.
Like mixing the spells of different elements to get a different result or trying a spell of a different element as a mage with another element.
There were still times when they talked about what created a soul sea, the possibility of having two elements, and how magic was first discovered.
In all, Alex found this class interesting but most of the things that were talked about were just theories without any solid results to back them.
One of the classes that really piqued Alex’s interest was the number of elements, what if the already known elements weren’t all? What if there were more elements that were yet to be awakened?
This had pulled Alex into serious consideration. After all, from stories he had read in his previous life, there were many elements that mages were able to access.
Even concepts that were framed as elements like the time element or the curse element.
There had also been a discussion of whether a second awakening or even a third Awakening was possible. Would the soul sea change if such a thing were to happen?
For the battle tactics class, it was just the instructor in charge of the class giving textbook explanations on how to face different opponents under certain circumstances.
Alex had to admit that the teachings in this class could actually be useful, but that was for the other students; the element of an opponent or the type of opponent that he was facing didn’t really matter to Alex.
And lastly, there was the Basic Formation Knowledge class which was Alex’s favourite class.
After three weeks, instructor Henry had started teaching the students how to construct simple formations!
