CHAPTER 46: CHEEP CHEEP

Leo rubs a wrinkle from his black button up shirt, glancing down at the white stitching of flowers that line the edges of his sleeves. Is he underdressed? Max never specified whether he should dress casually or formally, and Leo never asked. The omega will never admit it out loud, but his inferiority complex affects his life more than he’d like to admit. Leo has never been the first pick when there are much prettier omegas out there.

It’s the reason why his best friend is a beta. Ethan never has expectations from him just because he’s of a different dynamic. Ethan is protective sure, but that’s only because he has a big heart.

Leo purses his lips as he fiddles with a button. So, instead of texting Max, he found a balance in between, but now that it’s time for the alpha to pick him up, he’s having second thoughts.

Would he have enough time to run back up and change? Just as he’s about to do just that, a familiar car pulls up to him. Max steps out, an aura that only a man with wealth could have surrounds him as he scans the lot. He walks around the car, his brown hair styled back, his eyebrows neatly trimmed and his green eyes sparkling as he takes Leo in. Max wears a blue dress shirt, a white tie decorated with ducks.

Leo furrows his eyebrows at the sight, it’s an odd choice.

Max pauses in front of the omega, scanning him from head to toe and biting his lower lip. "You look handsome." He raises a large hand, his fingers grazing Leo’s barely visible collar bone. His warmth seeps into Leo’s skin and the omega sighs.

"I was a little worried." He admits in a low voice, and then he clears his throat. He tilts his head back and blinks up at Max from beneath his pale eyelashes. "I thought I needed to change."

Max smiles, his gaze drifting lower as he takes him in once more. "There’s no need." He murmurs, his gaze lingering on the pretty white stitches. "Come on." He grabs Leo’s hand, links their fingers together, and tugs him towards the passenger side. He opens the door for him and Leo climbs in.

As Max walks around, Leo’s gaze drops to Max’s plump butt. He definitely squats. He reaches back to rub at his own, does Max like his butt? Should he start doing squats too? When the door opens he pushes the thought away.

"Where are we going?" Leo asks when Max takes the driver’s seat.

"To the movies." Max answers. The car rumbles to life and he pulls out of the apartment complex.

"We’re going to see a movie?" Leo wracks his brain as he tries to remember what’s playing. "Which one?"

"I’m not sure yet." The alpha shrugs. "I thought I’d let you pick." He glances over and settles a palm on Leo’s thigh while the other stays on the steering wheel. He squeezes the omegas leg, the fabric of his pants soft against his skin.

Leo’s eyes drop to the large hand on his thigh. It takes up the entire upper half of his leg, the alphas fingers curling around to touch the underside. He should’ve worn shorts. Max rubs his thumb along the seem of his pants and he releases a breath.

"I don’t care what we watch." Leo murmurs, his blue eyes still on Max’s hand. He shifts, his thighs closing over with his dates fingers between them.

Max groans and pulls his hand back and settles it on the wheel. Leo pouts, his blue eyes drifting to the duck patterned tie on his neck.

His eyebrows raise, "You’re like a child." He laughs.

Max glances at him, glances down at his tie and then back out to the road with a smirk. "It reminded me of you, so I wore it."

"I remind you for ducks?" Leo scoffs. He leans over to grab the tail of the tie. The fabric is silky and soft, and the ducks have different facial expressions.

"No," Max chuckles, his back straightening as Leo leans further into his space. The tips of his blonde hair brushing against his chin. "Well, I suppose." The vibration from his voice deepens as he takes a deep breath. Leo’s hair smells like coconuts, and while it’s a nice scent, it’s not the one he really wants. His hands tightens on the wheel. "You like to cheep and cheep, but when it comes to flapping your wings to run away. . ." He trails off, green eyes sliding down to the omega who still fiddles with his tie. He grins, "You don’t really go anywhere."

Leo’s neck flushes red and glances up at him, his lashes fluttering. "I wouldn’t say I don’t. I think maybe I got closer?" As if to emphasize his point, he presses his lips to the hallow of Max’s neck.

Max groans as Leo pulls back to his seat. "You’re a god damn tease." He mutters.

In the end, Leo decided on a rerun of a horror movie. He was hoping that the theater would be empty and just the two of them would be there, but a couple sits down in the front while they take a seat in the back.

"Have you seen this?" Leo asks as he nestles the bag of popcorn between his legs. His large drink of orange phanta sits in the cup holder, and Max takes a bite of his hotdog.

The alpha shakes his head, "I’m not into horror. I like action more."

Leo scoffs, his thighs shifting more towards the alpha. "What’s the difference? They both require violence."

Max raises an eyebrow, "Are you really asking that?" He leans back and places his arm on the back of Leo’s chair. "That’s like saying Pepsi and Coke are the same."

Leo snorts, "That’s just wrong. Everyone knows that Coke is better."

Max pinches the bridge of his nose with his free hand and scoffs, "I can’t believe you just said that." Max reaches for some popcorn, "But back to the matter at hand. How in the world are horror and action the same? Horror is scary, action is just. . . Awesome."
