CHAPTER 829: ONE CONTINENT DOWN

The children of Exilon were taught from an early age that their only purpose in life was to fight and die for the Zanis Family. Any concept of childhood joy, play, or dreams was methodically stripped from their minds. It was a truly heartbreaking and cruel process, one that forged them into miniature soldiers—ready to follow orders and charge into battle, even if death was certain.

That was the reason such little child would dare to attack such a monster as a Reaper. Without hesitation, he knelt down to pick up another piece of broken weaponry from the ground. The Reaper surged forward, its colossal body moving with horrifying speed and momentum. One swipe of its claws was more than enough to turn the child into nothing but a smear of blood on the ground.

But the worst did not happen.

The Reaper’s claws was never meant for the child as it target was a soldier behind the child instead, who had been charged a spell. The Reaper gave no attention to the child afterward and continued its rampage, slashing and tearing through the ranks of the defenders, following the others of its legion as they stormed deeper into the city.

Across Sky Wall, similar scenes played out. Brainwashed children and civilians hurled all sort of projectiles at the Reapers. Yet the monstrous entities ignored them entirely, weaving past them with uncanny speed and agility, focused solely on eliminating any registered soldier or piece of military infrastructure in their path. The strategy was ruthless—and precise.

Aurora finally snapped out of her stunned state. Her glowing eyes narrowed with grim realization as she observed the Reapers carefully avoiding harm to the civilian population. A cold and brutal idea took form in her mind—one that might have given her a way to turn this precision against them.

Unfortunately for her, she never got the chance.

A brilliant flash of white light streaked down from the sky. The next instant, a massive figure materialized before her—a towering white werewolf. With a snarl, the beast delivered a ferocious spinning kick to Aurora’s chest, launching her out of the stronghold in a violent arc that shattered the air itself.

The werewolf glanced around the city briefly, assessing the situation. Then, without pause, he leapt after Aurora, his goal crystal clear: to prevent the Legend from rallying the defenders or forming any kind of effective resistance.

The Exilon sages who had served under Aurora watched helplessly as their commander was flung into the distance. But before they could reorient themselves, a fighter jet roared across the sky, moving at speeds beyond hypersonic. The craft unleashed concentrated laser blasts toward the tower, each beam powerful enough to obliterate buildings and vaporize anything caught in the path. The sages were forced to dodge frantically, their panic deepening as hundreds of enemy Sages descended alongside the jet.

These attackers did not spread indiscriminately across the city. Their target was precise: the high command structure of the stronghold. Each fighter burned with killing intent, focused entirely on decimating the leadership of Sky Wall.

As the Reapers tore through soldiers and military structures on the ground, and the Sky Fighter and Sages neutralized the command echelon, a series of heavy detonations echoed from outside the stronghold. Moments later, the colossal metal gates guarding the entrance to the city were blown apart, reduced to molten debris.

Through the breach came the final wave—Xaos Tanks, monstrous machines capable of flattening entire cities with their cannons and treads. These behemoths were followed closely by tens of thousands of Xaos Soldiers, marching with lethal precision.

Their eyes were sharp, scanning constantly for targets—but unlike the Reapers, their purpose was not to eliminate the military forces. That task was already being carried out with terrifying efficiency. No, the Xaos Soldiers had a different mission.

A group of children, hearts pounding with fear and adrenaline, saw the advancing soldiers and rushed toward them. They had failed to stop the Reapers but believed the Xaos troops—being human—could be harmed. Their logic was sound: these were not mechanical beasts, but men and women in armor. Perhaps they could stop them.

One of the children lunged toward a heavily armored Guardian-class Xaos Soldier. He stood still, allowing them to approach, but his expression tightened. As soon as the children got close, he moved. In a blink, he appeared before them and struck a series of precise pressure points.

The children collapsed instantly.

But they were not dead.

The soldier had expertly rendered them unconscious—ensuring they would remain unharmed until the battle ended. He quickly moved them off the main road, placing them safely to the side, and immediately began searching for more civilians.

The Xaos Soldiers did not march into Sky Wall to kill. They came to save lives.

Their mission was clear: neutralize and secure as many civilians—especially children—as possible. To some, it might have seemed like a waste of effort. But to the Xaos military, it was a sacred duty. The Xaos Culture revered life. Though they could harden their hearts to eliminate enemy combatants without hesitation, the thought of butchering innocents or children was abhorrent to their core beliefs.

Knowing that their king had entrusted them with this task only bolstered their morale. It reminded them that even in war, their cause was rooted in justice.

As the minutes passed, the situation for the defenders of Exilon grew increasingly dire. The Reapers continued their unstoppable advance without fear or hesitation. The Sky Fighters and invading Sages crushed their counterparts, swiftly dismantling the command hierarchy. Meanwhile, the Xaos Soldiers combed through the city, carefully securing the civilian population.

By the time night fell, silence had descended upon the city. The once-mighty Sky Wall Fortress, heralded as impenetrable and indomitable, had fallen.

And now, it belonged to the Xaos Kingdom.

They had taken the city through slaughter and devastation, but also with overwhelming strategy, precision, and skill. The stronghold that once symbolized Zanis oppression was now a beacon of Xaos might.
