Bigshot's Sweetie Is a Cat!
Chapter 976: Feng Liyan Is Jealous
CHAPTER 976: CHAPTER 976: FENG LIYAN IS JEALOUS
It was just short of sticking him to Feng Liyan and letting him take him away.
As soon as the door opened, Bai Yi eagerly squeezed into the room, not daring to stay in the corridor for even a couple of seconds.
Feng Liyan smiled and followed him into the room.
He first placed the cardboard box in his hand onto the sofa. When he turned back and was about to say something to Bai Yi, he noticed a pink square cage on the bedside table, inside which was a snow-white... little kitten?!
Feng Liyan’s eyebrows instantly furrowed as he stared at the little kitten in the cage, momentarily stunned.
The little kitten in the cage also stared back at him with big blue eyes and gave a soft meow: "Meow~"
Upon hearing the cat’s meow, Bai Yi immediately ran to the bedside table, opened the cage, and took the little kitten out.
The little kitten was extremely docile, obediently curling up in Bai Yi’s arms, allowing Bai Yi to stroke its fur.
"Be good, I’ll make some milk for you to drink in a bit." Seeing Bai Yi smiling tenderly and stroking the kitten, Feng Liyan finally snapped out of it.
"Where did this cat come from?!"
His tone was completely accusatory.
Damn it, I just left for less than two days, and this boy has already gotten another cat?!
Didn’t he say he wouldn’t have any more pets after this?!
What is this supposed to be now?!
Was all that sadness and reluctance last night just an act?!
Feng Liyan felt like hitting someone.
Bai Yi looked up, smiling as he walked towards Feng Liyan with the kitten in his arms.
"This is..."
"Don’t come any closer, stay right there!"
Seeing Bai Yi approaching with the cat, Feng Liyan instinctively took half a step back, pointing at Bai Yi to scold him.
He had a cleanliness obsession, to the extent that he even disliked those of his kind.
"What’s wrong?" Bai Yi seemed puzzled.
"Explain this to me clearly, what’s the deal with this cat? I just left... no, Xiaobai just left not two days ago, and you’ve already gotten another cat? How could you betray him?" Feng Liyan pointed at the little kitten in his arms, feeling an inexplicable surge of hostility towards it.
There’s always a sense that this cat is here to compete with him for affection... uh-pfft, in short, he wouldn’t allow any animal, or even anything, to replace "Xiaobai."
Faced with Feng Liyan’s questioning, especially that last line about "How could you betray Xiaobai," Bai Yi panicked, not noticing how strange Feng Liyan’s questions were.
"No, I wasn’t planning to keep it." Bai Yi immediately explained.
Afraid that if Feng Liyan went back and told Xiaobai about this incident one day, Xiaobai would be mad at him.
"Then what’s the matter? Don’t tell me you picked it up again, saying you didn’t want to keep it, but ended up keeping it anyway." Feng Liyan didn’t even notice that he had almost revealed his identity.
Luckily, Bai Yi didn’t pay attention to those details, being eager to explain.
"No, I bought this from the pet store. Look closely at it, doesn’t it seem a bit familiar?"
As Bai Yi spoke, he lifted the cat to show Feng Liyan.
Familiar?
Feng Liyan examined the cat.
White fur, blue eyes, small build, it did seem somewhat familiar.
"Do you see it now?" Bai Yi asked.
"No."
"Doesn’t it look like Xiaoguai? You know, the cat your cousin Miss Wen keeps."
Feng Liyan frowned slightly, thinking: How is this anything like my little princess?
"So what?"
"Xiaobai was smitten with Xiaoguai at first sight, really liked Xiaoguai, but the Third Young Master didn’t like Xiaobai. Now that you’ve taken Xiaobai back, I thought I’d go to the pet store and buy a cat that looks like Xiaoguai, so when you go back in a few days, you can give this cat to Xiaobai as if it were Xiaoguai."
