CHAPTER 170: CHAPTER 165: I’LL BREAK BOTH YOUR LEGS (PART 3)
"I’ll go with you. It’s not safe for two girls to go out alone. And who knows where that Justin has run off to?" Tong Airui muttered, seemingly unintentionally.
Yi Luowa saw him looking at her and pouted. "Who knows? Honestly, it’s better if he’s not around. Eating with him makes me feel really awkward."
"What about eating with me?" Tong Airui asked with a smile.
"Eating with you is even more awkward, especially at your house. You always take care of me so much that I’m scared people might think I can’t take care of myself."
"Silly girl, I’m just worried you might not eat enough." Tong Airui chuckled and pulled her into his arms. "If anyone dares to doubt you, let me know, and I’ll handle them!"
Yi Luowa blinked her eyes. "Fourth Brother, don’t treat me this well. I’m afraid if you stop caring about me one day, I’ll feel so disappointed."
"I won’t let you ever have a day like that because the person I’ve chosen to care about—I’ll care for her for a lifetime." Tong Airui smiled and gently nipped her ear. "When are your relatives leaving?"
Yi Luowa’s body stiffened slightly. Though she’d never experienced it, she was sensitive enough to grasp the deeper meaning behind his words.
"They’ll be here for a few more days." Yi Luowa’s heart thumped wildly. Though her aunt’s visit would end tomorrow, she’d intentionally stretched it out for several extra days.
Her subtle shifts in behavior didn’t escape Tong Airui’s sharp observation. He chuckled, "Your relatives certainly have a long stay this time! I was planning to take you to the beach for a day, but since they’re still here, I guess I’ll hold off."
Yi Luowa gave an embarrassed smile. "If you want to go, I’ll keep you company. I’ll just sit on the beach."
"I’m not fully healed yet and can’t swim for the time being. Forget it, we’ll find time to go later." Tong Airui replied casually, smiling.
When Huo Li came back, the two were still leaning against the bedhead, chatting away. Hearing Huo Li and Yuan Hang talking, Yi Luowa got off the bed.
As Yi Luowa went to open the door, Tong Airui’s phone buzzed with a message. He glanced at it, his brows furrowing slightly.
Huo Li walked in and saw Tong Airui reclining against the bedhead. She pouted. "Big grown man, lazing around on the bed. Aren’t you embarrassed? Get up! Let me lie down for a while!"
Tong Airui glanced at her, not even flinching.
Yi Luowa pulled Huo Li over. "He’s injured. Don’t fight over the bed with him. You can rest in the room next door later."
"Favoring romance over friendship!" Huo Li huffed, pulling her hand away and slumping down on the couch.
"Where did Senior Justin go?" Yi Luowa pushed some fruit from the coffee table toward her.
Huo Li glanced toward the door and leaned in close to Yi Luowa, speaking in a hushed tone: "I think Senior Justin might not be a good person."
"Why?" Yi Luowa picked up an orange, peeled it, and handed a segment to her.
"He has a gun. When I discovered it, he stopped talking to me, then made some excuse to ditch me and ran off on his own." Huo Li frowned deeply and snorted in dissatisfaction.
Yi Luowa exchanged a glance with Tong Airui, who shook his head slightly.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips. "Stay at the hospital with me these days. Tomorrow, I’ll go out with you, but let’s keep our distance from the senior."
"Hmm, the way he looks at me—it’s a bit scary." Huo Li popped a piece of orange in her mouth. Seeing Yi Luowa staring at her, she quickly spit half of it out, bit down on it, and raised an eyebrow playfully at her.
"Stop grossing me out!" Yi Luowa laughed, playfully pushing her face away.
"Oh come on, it’s not like I haven’t eaten like this before," Huo Li rolled her eyes.
Tong Airui eyed the orange stuck to her mouth and narrowed his eyes dangerously. His wife had actually played like this with someone else before!
Yi Luowa noticed Tong Airui staring at Huo Li with an odd expression. She pouted, grabbed Huo Li’s arm, and started pulling her toward the room next door.
Tong Airui quickly got out of bed. "Honey, where are you going?"
Huo Li giggled, "Your wife is running off with me."
"Not a chance! If she dares to run away with you, I’ll break all four of your legs!" Tong Airui joked as he walked over, laughing.
Huo Li gave him a side glance. "Oh? Look at you acting all tough. I heard your ribs were broken by our family’s Piggy Bao!"
Yi Luowa rolled her eyes at Tong Airui. "You should rest. We won’t bother you anymore!"
Tong Airui noticed she seemed unhappy, grabbed her hand, and said softly, "I’m not tired. If Huo Li isn’t tired either, how about I take you two out for some desserts?"
"Piggy Bao, desserts!" Huo Li perked up with interest, gently tugging at Yi Luowa’s sleeve.
"All you know is eating. Soon, you’ll eat yourself up to 200 pounds by New Year’s, and then my family won’t even need to buy pork!" Yi Luowa pouted and flung Tong Airui’s hand off, saying to Huo Li, "If you’re that into eating, you two can go together!"
Seeing things taking a bad turn, Tong Airui wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her tightly in his embrace. Lowering his gaze, he asked, "Did I do something wrong to upset you like this? Tell me, and I’ll change, can’t I?"
Yi Luowa furrowed her brows slightly. "It’s not about you; it’s my own issue..."
Tong Airui turned to Huo Li and said, "Do me a favor and stay in this room for a moment. I need to step out with Luowa to have a chat; we’ll be right back."
Huo Li looked at one, then the other, and waved them off impatiently. "Go, go! If you don’t make my Piggy Bao happy, I won’t forgive you."
