CHAPTER 186: CHAPTER 181: FOURTH BROTHER, I WANT TO HAVE YOUR LITTLE MONKEY (PART 1)

"Brother, Dad wants you to come over for a bit." Tong Aino’s voice came from outside the door.

"No... mm..."

Yi Luowa raised her hand and covered his mouth, "Aino, your brother will be down in a moment."

"Okay, hurry up. Dad seems pretty anxious."

Yi Luowa responded, listened to Tong Aino leaving, and then nudged Tong Airui, "Your uncle is calling you so late—it must be something important. You should go check it out."

"How am I supposed to go like this?!" Tong Airui gritted his teeth!

Yi Luowa lowered her gaze for a quick look—though she didn’t see anything, her face still turned red, "Then wait until you’re back to normal before you go."

"With a little fairy like you around, how could I get back to normal?" Tong Airui, clearly frustrated, rolled out of bed, grabbed the blanket and draped it over Yi Luowa, before swaggering into the bathroom.

From the moment he got up, Yi Luowa kept her eyes shut. She wriggled like a little worm, inching her way until her head was completely buried under the blanket, and then she broke out into quiet laughter inside.

"I’m going down." Tong Airui took a quick cold shower and soon returned.

Yi Luowa peeked out from under the blanket and saw that he was all dressed up again, looking sharp and proper. She pouted, "Fourth Brother, where’s my clothing?"

"You’re not allowed to wear any. Wait until I get back." Tong Airui smiled and pinched her cheek before quickly stepping out the door.

As Tong Airui walked to the second floor, he saw his dad standing at the study’s entrance, looking stern. Tong Airui furrowed his brow slightly; clearly, something big was happening.

"Dad, what’s going on?"

Long Che glanced at him, "Video conference in three minutes."

The father and son entered the study; Long Che sat down first and, seeing the video connection hadn’t been set up yet, tilted his head toward his son. "The Haotian Empire is at war again. Our borders are under threat."

Tong Airui’s expression immediately became serious. He adjusted his clothes and sat close to his dad. "What’s King Muta’s stance?"

Long Che replied coldly, "His stance is that if all else fails, we must send the Black Eagle to infiltrate Haotian secretly."

Tong Airui immediately understood his dad’s reasoning. "This should’ve been done a long time ago. We already took out Nanwu; another one isn’t a big deal. Those two brothers keep fighting, and it’s their citizens who suffer."

"Emperor Haotian really gave birth to two good sons!" Long Che shook his head helplessly. "Back in the day, when we were embroiled in a civil war, Emperor Haotian helped us out quite a bit. To destroy his country now... Well, after I die, I wouldn’t be able to face him."

"How about this? Do you want to support one of the brothers? I could go and assist him, take one down, and leave the other. That way, peace can come to the world."

Long Che chuckled softly.

Tong Airui furrowed his brow slightly, "What are you laughing about?"

Long Che glanced at his son, "I laugh when I want to laugh—got a problem with that?"

"Plenty of problems!" Tong Airui looked at the computer and, seeing that the signal hadn’t connected yet, muttered, "You’ve just lost the chance to become a grandfather."

Long Che gave his son a once-over. He wanted to laugh but ultimately held it in.

"Long Che, are you becoming a grandfather?!" King Muta’s image suddenly appeared on the computer screen.

"I have both grandsons and granddaughters already; why are you so worked up?" Long Che glanced at King Muta on the screen, clearly displeased.

"It’s not the same!" King Muta chuckled, then raised his hand slightly to signal for the other signals to come through. Soon, over a dozen senior officials of Xiawu appeared on the screen.

King Muta cleared his throat and spoke solemnly, "Everyone’s basically aware of the situation. Now, we need to devise a strategy—we can’t let them keep harassing our borders."

"I advocate for war! Destroy them, and we’ll have no more worries!" The Deputy Prime Minister was the first to speak.

King Muta shook his head, "One must not forget one’s roots. Although Emperor Haotian has passed away, when he was alive, he helped us greatly. If we send troops to attack his two sons, people will accuse us of turning on those who supported us."

Tong Airui spoke up, looking at King Muta, "Emperor Haotian passed the throne to his eldest son. Randy is now the legitimate heir. As long as he opens his mouth, we can act with just cause to help him quash the civil war. This would benefit the citizens of both countries."

"The Haotian civil war has been dragging on for years. I’ve thought about helping them before, but every time I send Randy a letter, he finds some excuse to decline. I can see it now: Randy simply isn’t willing to harm his own brother with borrowed hands." King Muta said, rubbing his forehead, "What’s everyone else’s opinion?"

"Airui’s suggestion isn’t without merit. If this drags on, our borders will continue to suffer damage," the Deputy Marshal spoke up. "King Muta writes, and Randy doesn’t respond—then let the Prime Minister write this time. The letter’s tone must be firm. Treat it as his last warning; if he still refuses to act, then we’ll assist his brother against him—or even take down both of them together!"
