CHAPTER 638: CHAPTER 543: A HAPPY TIME FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR (FIRST UPDATE)
Everyone sat in the side hall until past nine, and Yi Luowa escorted Second Uncle back to his bedroom first.
Huo Li, still groggy from a nap, saw Yi Weiyang returning and tried to prop herself up.
Yi Weiyang quickly pressed her down, "Don’t get up, I can handle it myself."
Yi Luowa smirked, "You’re jealous for no reason. Look how much my Second Uncle cares about you."
Huo Li glared at her, "Which of your eyes saw me being jealous?"
"Next time, I’ll record it for you!" Yi Luowa chuckled mischievously and guided Second Uncle to sit by the bed. "Second Uncle, let me help you remove the prosthetic."
"No need, I can really manage it myself. At home, I handle these things just fine, but every time I’m at your place, you all treat me like I’m disabled, making me feel incapable of taking care of myself."
"It’s not about treating you as disabled! It’s a sign of respect!" Yi Luowa laughed as she helped Second Uncle remove his shoes.
Huo Li tilted her body and glanced at her, "Leave it alone, just help get your Second Uncle’s pajamas. Then go spend some time with your parents—I heard they’re leaving tomorrow night."
"You’re leaving too, and I want to spend time with you all." Yi Luowa stood up and walked to the wardrobe, retrieving Second Uncle’s pajamas.
"We live so close, we can see each other anytime. Your parents coming here is rare." Huo Li sat up and began unbuttoning Yi Weiyang’s shirt. "If you don’t leave now, I’ll start undressing your Second Uncle myself!"
Yi Luowa glared at her, "Don’t use that to scare me! I used to help Second Uncle with this all the time."
"Go check on your parents. Don’t worry about me." Yi Weiyang chuckled and patted her arm.
Yi Luowa pursed her lips, "Alright, I’m heading out. Rest early, both of you."
Yi Weiyang nodded with a smile.
Yi Luowa stepped out and saw the Emperor Haotian and Empress Haotian already leaving the side hall.
Yi Luowa paused in surprise, "Dad, Mom, where are you going?"
"Airui was worried we’d be tired and told us to rest upstairs. Why don’t you come with us?" Empress Haotian extended her hand to her daughter.
Yi Luowa took her mother’s hand and walked slowly up the stairs.
"Is your Second Uncle resting?"
"Yes."
"Your Second Uncle is a good man. We can’t forget the kindness he’s shown us. Your father and I will do everything in our power to assist him in business, and you should care for him more in daily life."
"I will." Yi Luowa nodded with a smile.
"In this family, you’re the eldest daughter-in-law. You need to set an example for everyone—no throwing childish tantrums or making things difficult for Airui."
Yi Luowa turned to look at Tong Airui, wrinkling her nose. "Did you complain to Mom about me?"
"Do I look like the type?" Tong Airui looked innocently at his wife.
"You definitely are!" Yi Luowa huffed at him, then turned to her younger brother. "Danton, tell me, did your brother-in-law badmouth me while I wasn’t here?"
Danton chuckled, "Not too much."
"Just wait!" Yi Luowa shot a sinister glance at Tong Airui before pouting and helping her mother up the stairs.
Emperor Haotian followed his daughter and smiled helplessly, "Luowa takes after her mother so much."
Tong Airui’s mouth twitched slightly—his mother-in-law didn’t seem like that at all!
Empress Haotian turned back and shot her husband a warning look, "How could you say such things in front of our son-in-law?"
Emperor Haotian laughed heartily, "Airui, look at the way these two—mother and daughter—glance at us. Don’t they look alike?"
Tong Airui nodded with a smile.
The family of five joked and entered the largest guest room on the third floor.
Danton was tired. As soon as they entered the room, he kicked off his shoes and climbed into bed. "I’ll lie closer to the inside; Mom and Sis, you two can join me."
"It’s late today—are you feeling unwell?" Yi Luowa sat down on the edge of the bed, gently massaging his calf.
"I didn’t even do anything today, yet it feels more exhausting than going out to play." Danton muttered, turning his head toward his mother seated beside him. "Mom, my sister’s massage skill is so good—it’s super relaxing."
"So you’re not willing to move now?" Empress Haotian lovingly ran her hand through her son’s thick hair.
"I’ll move eventually. It’s rare for me to go out—I want to travel the world. I’ve already mapped out my route: first to Country F, where my sister was born and grew up, then to Country Z, where my brother-in-law spent his childhood, and then to Country S, where my second sister and Ai Ni live..."
"You’ve planned far ahead. Does that mean you’re ditching me and your mom?" Emperor Haotian shot his son a dissatisfied look and pulled his son-in-law to sit on the closest sofa.
