Afterwards, other groups also performed their songs. Lu Nanxiao’s group showed a surprising combination of water and bubbles that interpreted the Waves differently from Han Suwen’s while Shen Lou’s group performed a steady and powerful presentation with the theme under the Earth concept.

When the last group finally ends their performance, it’s time for the mentors to comment for each team.

First was Sheng Yan’s group.

"To be honest..." Lin Yu begins the feedback with an unusually serious face. "I like your performance from the previous shoot more than now."

"..." The venue went silent from that feedback.

"Team B, what happened? How come your attitude on stage changed? Back then, your performance was really good because you showed us how a group worked together. You were a team back then." Lin Yu commented with a hint of disappointment on his face.

"Sheng Yan," Lin Yu calls for the group leader. "What happened to your group? Did some misunderstanding among you occur? Your team has actually the most spirit to lead as a group but looking at you now feels like there was no connection between you and them anymore. It’s honestly disappointing."

Lin Yu actually wanted to talk frankly about the situation since he knows what’s going on but opt not to. However, since he was not willing, there is someone who is.

"Can’t you set aside your personal issues inside this competition?" Unexpectedly, it was not Xu Xinyi who was always blunt and harsh in giving feedback but the new mentor Su Jinxi.

Everyone looked at her and saw a familiar sharpness that they usually see from Xu Xinyi appears on Su Jinxi.

"The company decided to be honest with you and informed you about what happened outside because it is your right as a citizen in our federation, but that doesn’t mean that knowing that means forgetting about the profession that you want to be in the near future." But different from Xu Xinyi, Su Jinxi’s words were more composed and steadfast, not like a critique but more likely someone who was in the military.

"Even the enemies knew how to act like a comrade just to complete their task. You have to adjust yourself even if the member is your most hated person because the audience won’t be interested in your disagreement but will focus on your performance as this is a debut competition. Do you understand that?" Su Jinxi looked at the members of their team directly in their eyes and the trainees subconsciously straightened their backs and nodded.

It can’t be helped. Su Jinxi really does look like someone who came out of the military. She was composed and firm with her words. Xu Xinyi is strict and blunt with her comments and will always let them face the reality without any hesitation whereas Su Jinxi lays all the flaws in front of them and reprimands their mistakes.

Xu Xinyi raised her brow but didn’t say anything as if she agreed to what Su Jinxi said to them.

The next one is Cao Ming’s group.

Lin Yu also expressed his disappointment because the previous performance was better.

"I really like your performance. You showed us the real fear about expressing one’s real face and the courage about unveiling it in front of everyone. Being able to stand naked and let everyone’s eyes see everything in you was such a brave thing that anyone can’t do. That was my feeling back then so it was really a pity." Lin Yu exhales a breath and shakes his head lightly.

He starts to think that it will be better if they don’t know anything about some truths? But he guessed not. They are not just some idols who will merely perform on stage but humans who have the right to understand the reality.

The same as the previous one, it’s just that this time, it was not Su Jinxi but Xu Xinyi was the next one who commented.

"Stop wearing your hypocrite face in front of the stage and perform like this!" Xu Xinyi’s blunt words echoed the whole venue. "Do you think you can debut like this with that attitude?!"

At first, everyone thought that she was reprimanding Cao Ming due to the recent issue. The members on the stage quickly distance themselves farther away as if he was not part of the group and wanted to draw a line between him from Xu Xinyi’s words.

However in the next second, Xu Xinyi looked at the members and sneered at them. "Do you think I said those for him?"

"??!!" The members jolted in shock.

"M-Mentor?"

"Do you think it’s just him who’s being hypocritical here?"

The members looked at each other in disbelief. If not just Cao Ming, does she mean they are too?

"Why are you acting all mighty as if Cao Ming didn’t lead your group to become like this?" Xu Xinyi continues her words. "You want the truth? Your group wouldn’t receive such feedback from Lin Yu if it weren’t for him."

"!!!" The crowd on the side had their eyes widen and gasped at such words.

Xu Xinyi really doesn’t hold herself back!

"Cao Ming has more ability than you. He led the group with such results and only got worse for what happened. But that doesn’t change the fact that he did well on stage. What about you? He was able to cover all your mistakes so you received good results. Now that he was done covering for you, your flaws became visible the same as the hypocrite side on your face. Do you get what I mean?"

The venue went silent as they knew that this time, it was not only Cao Ming’s group but also for them. Like the members, they also isolated themselves from Sheng Yan and Cao Ming because of their issues.

"Sheng Yan didn’t do anything nor his family about Sheng’s crime and Cao Ming didn’t kill anybody for all of you to break the relationship you built inside this training camp." These words even shut everyone’s mouth.

Some trainees bowed their heads in shame because they knew it was the truth.

Sheng Yan was just being himself. His family wasn’t the suspect for all the innocent people who had been harmed so he was able to stay in the competition. Aside from his discord and deception, Cao Ming didn’t harm anyone nor did he try to hold everyone back on the stage.

They weren’t wrong, thus why does everyone blame them?

Why does everyone stay away as if what they’ve committed was more than the crime that the real perpetrators did?

Xu Xinyi didn’t care about their reactions and looked at Jiang Su to signal him about the next group to get feedback.

Aside from this scene, other groups received half praise and another reprimand from the mentors especially He Yan’s group. Lin Yu emphasized the importance of empathy for He Yan’s strength but unfortunately, he didn’t express himself well on stage today.

"He Yan, you have the strength but don’t stop yourself from seeing the other side of the box. It is good that you sympathize but it’s not just because you can accept it. Empathizing isn’t just about thinking about other people’s shoes because you accepted their perspective. You also have to accept what you don’t believe because that was theirs. It’s a sign of respect and you must not put a limit on it." Lin Yu said and He Yan immediately nodded to accept that advice.

Earlier, Brother Lou also talked about this matter and he knew that was wrong. Just because he didn’t agree about someone’s deception doesn’t mean he will stop understanding them.

Everybody has reasons for their lies. Just like Cao Ming.

Standing on the stage, He Yan looked at everyone.

His eyes went to Qin An and Shen Lou sitting close and remembered about the two not answering him the truth about what happened back then inside the training room with Bai Ling’s incident. Even his own brother has something to do with it but they didn’t explain it to him.

He sulked and felt out of place but he knew his brother. If he wanted him out of the mess, it’s likely to be a serious case that he shouldn’t interfere.

It was like this today. Just because it’s a different perspective of what he believed does it mean the other side is bad.

He should understand it and get over with this sulky attitude instead.

He Yan nodded at himself firmly and promised inside him that he would do better in the next round!

Meanwhile, Su Jinxi looked at the glowing eyes of He Yan and knew that the young man truly understood his situation. That made her nod as an acknowledgement.

Truly a member from the He family.

For sure, the Marshal— her boss will be glad about his young brother’s growth.
