CHAPTER 217: CHAPTER 216: NEW RANKING
Chapter 216: New Ranking
Time passed quickly and since the evaluation about the third round was from the scores given by the mentors, the results were released fast and now, the competition ushered again for another elimination round.
Just like from the previous ones, the remaining trainees formed a horizontal line and waited for the announcement.
"Good day. This will be the second elimination round of Lucky99’s competition. From the recent performances, each trainee was evaluated and was given certain scores from the mentors which would be the basis if you are safe today." The voice paused for a second. "From 45 trainees, only 20 among the contestants can move forward, for which means that 25 trainees will be eliminated today."
"!!!"
25?! Was this too many? Hearing such a large number the trainees couldn’t help but hold their breath. With this number, the competition is setting too high and tight. But them going as far as more than a half of elimination, was this too fast?
The amount of information that they heard didn’t even process in their minds but the voice sounded again.
"The first to call are the trainees who will be in the S Class. For the first from the evaluation, with a total score of 98 over 100, the first trainee to advance... Nan Moyi."
"???"
Nan Moyi? Not actually Shen Lou?! The trainees were surprised by the first name that was called. Nan Moyi just scored higher than Shen Lou?!
"Nan Moyi scored 28 from Xu Xinyi, 30 from both Lin Yu and Jiang Su. With the additional points from being the MVP, he scored a total of 98 points and ranked as the first under the S Class."
Some trainees gasped and they quickly sent a round of applause to the new first rank. They watched the young man walk towards the class of S and stood at the position where Shen Lou always occupied.
"Trainee Nan Moyi, please express your thoughts."
Nan Moyi bowed at everyone and took the mic that was brought to him by a small robot. "First of all, I would like to thank the mentors who gave me the scores and thus made this possible and to the audience who chose me— thank you very much for trusting all my efforts." Nan Moyi bowed again in front of the camera with a smile on his lips. He turned to look at the trainees and nod at them.
"Secondly, for the trainees, especially my group, they trusted such a significant role in my hands and I am very grateful for it. Without your help, I may not achieve great improvement within myself." Nan Moyi exhales a gentle breath before continuing. "Undefeated is very special for my heart. I wrote that not just for all the soldiers but also for my parents. Like anybody else, they fought for the country and our family. They may have died in war but I believed that they were not defeated by the enemies. They won and protected us."
The young man’s eyes turned mist as he took a deep breath again to calm himself. "Thank you so much for allowing me to perform that on stage and let it shine brightly. I will work hard everyday to reach my dreams. Thank you." He bowed again for the last time and the crowd gave him a loud applause.
"For the next trainee to be part of S Class, with a total score of 97 points over 100, the second trainee to advance in the competition... Congratulations, Gu Yijin."
97? Such a close point! And it was even Gu Yijin! So how many points did Shen Lou get?!
"Trainee Gu Yijin got 29 points from all the mentors and with the additional points from MVP, he scored a total of 97 points and got the second rank."
29 points from all the mentors? So that’s 87, did that mean that Gu Yijin got 10 points from the audience? It was actually a small number over 90 but considering how tight the competition is, such points are totally enough to help them! Nan Moyi and Gu Yijin were chosen as the MVP so they had the biggest advantage, then what about Chen Wei who was the other MVP?!
And just as everyone thought so, Chen Wei’s name was announced after Gu Yijin with a total score of 93 points. This stunned everyone.
"Trainee Chen Wei got 27 points from Xu Xinyi, 28 points for both Lin Yu and Jiang Su, with the additional points for MVP, he got 93 points and secured the third rank for the competition."
Does that mean that Chen Wei originally only had 83 points? If he was not chosen by the audience, how would his score be compared to Shen Lou? This was what everyone thought and coincidentally, Shen Lou’s name was heard after him as the fourth placer.
"Trainee Shen Lou received 29 points from all the mentors and had a total of 87 points."
"!!!"
87! Even the same score as what Gu Yijin originally had!
Shen Lou remained calm amidst their surprise and went to his position beside Chen Wei after delivering his message. He didn’t look bothered by his score and just accepted it calmly.
On the contrary, it was Chen Wei instead who had a troubled expression on his face.
He knows what’s going on inside everyone’s mind right now. They don’t want to accept the results, right? That he was above Shen Lou.
What were they thinking? Are they mocking him? Or thinking that maybe he ’bribe’ again the audience to vote for him? And those votes were only because he’s the CEO’s brother?
Chen Wei clenched his jaw and for the first time, he felt a pang of regret and disappointment. Not only because he thought that maybe it was better that the audience didn’t choose him to avoid this feeling, but also for his past actions.
Actually, Chen Wei knew he was too arrogant. It was his personality that everyone didn’t want to accept and they just got along with him because of his identity. As for his friends? He didn’t even know if he had that after spending a long time with everyone.
Realizing his current situation now just even made him feel worse. Because he felt that he didn’t deserve this. Or he doesn’t know.
Chen Wei just felt he was standing still under the pin of needles. He couldn’t be still and his heart was full of heaviness that he was unfamiliar with.
Since when did he start seeking other’s validation? Since when did he care if others would get mad about what he got? Since when did Chen Wei doubted himself for achieving a goal that he worked hard for?
Shouldn’t he feel proud that at this time, he chose to fight fairly and just won? Why can’t he even feel any joy inside his heart? Because as he looked into their eyes, all the happiness that he felt just disappeared.
The young man hung his head low to hide his grim expression. He is also forcing himself to calm down so no one would notice him but at this moment, before the next trainee to advance was announced, a familiar voice of a woman sounded.
"Are you feeling injustice?" It was Xu Xinyi who was standing on the side with the other mentors. She was looking at him while she said that.
Chen Wei’s tight on his fist. What is she doing? Speaking those words, is she targeting him again? What will she say? That he was indignant and arrogant again? Will she humiliate him again? To be sarcastic and say that he doesn’t deserve this rank again?
Chen Weis’ heart throbbed in pain and just waited for her sharp words again for him when in the next second, Xu Xinyi turned to look at the trainees instead.
"Do you think you have the right to judge his fate?"
"???"
"!!!"
