"Trainee Qin An, please state your decision whether you’ll accept Nan Moyi’s offer."

Qin An opened his lips and was about to say his answer when his eyes met He Yan’s. The young man’s usually bright like a light bulb glowing are a bit misty and looking at him like an aggrieved puppy. Qin An was planning to ignore him but when he subconsciously glanced at the familiar trainees that he’s been with, he was even more speechless when he saw the same look on their eyes— telling him not to accept the offer too.

"..." Is this such a big deal? Qin An didn’t know but at this moment, he just felt the large generation gap between him and others because he really couldn’t connect.

"Ahem," Jiang Su clears his throat when he sees the young man’s dilemma due to the constant eyes of others towards him. He was dumbfounded too when he saw the situation.

What’s going on with them? It’s not like Qin An is the only choice that they could choose, right?

"Classmate Qin, you can decide now," Jiang Su motioned the young man. Qin An nodded and looked away from the light bulbs and turned to Nan Moyi.

"I accept," Qin An decides. A wide smile was painted on Nan Moyi while He Yan on the side immediately pouted but could do nothing. The other trainees who originally planned to pick the young man frown and looked at the remaining trainees.

"Trainee Qin An, please stand beside Nan Moyi."

After the young man stood beside Nan Moyi, the voice continued.

"Trainee Gu Yijin, please choose your duo."

Gu Yijin didn’t speak immediately and just quietly looked away from Qin An who was his first choice. He knew that he and the young man weren’t close in the beginning so when he offered him to be with his team back then created a shock from everyone. He was also not a person who will take initiative to invite someone so he’s sure that it was very unusual for him.

He doesn’t even know.

It’s just that he felt that he and the young man had similarities in the beginning of the competition. He saw him being isolated and all that until there’s something inexplicable that somehow made the young man at the center of the circle. Since Gu Yijin wanted to change himself to fit in a group, he wanted to go to Qin An because he felt that with the young man, maybe he could get ’friends’ like He Yan and others.

Too bad that the latter was chosen. He uttered a tsk inside his heart and could only look for another trainee.

At the end, he chose a more familiar trainee that he’s been with from the previous round, Jiang Mo.

The next one is Chen Wei. The young man had no extra expression on his face as he scanned the trainees around. He felt a sudden feeling of powerlessness inside him when he saw the trainees he had often chosen to look away from him at this moment.

They don’t want him.

"..." Chen Wei silently clenches his jaw. What should he do? What to do?

Standing here at this moment felt like what was under him was a thin layer of ice, as if any seconds it will break and he’ll fall into the cold water beneath him.

"I’ll choose Sheng Yan."

"I’ll accept it." When the two stand beside each other, Sheng Yan whispers.

"I’m sorry. I know that you may not want to be paired with me too."

".." Chen Wei didn’t speak and just stared at the faint apologetic smile of the young man.

"Would you like to ask the mentors if you can change again—"

"It’s fine." Chen Wei cut him off. He exhaled a breath slowly and finally gave a reassuring nod to Sheng Yan. "You’re my partner now."

That made the young man smile a bit and nodded at him. "Okay. Then let’s do our best together, Chen Wei."

Chen Wei just nodded. His back straightens once again as he faces everyone., his face no longer looks grim and turned to calmness.

That subtle action made Xu Xinyi raise her brow. A flash of recognition appeared in her eyes again and concealed the smile on her face before she looked away.
