"... Why would I believe you?" This was what he said after a few seconds of silence.

Han Baiwei paused at his question but still answered. "Because you didn’t do anything wrong."

He sneered. "No, you don’t think so."

There’s no way that he’ll believe every nonsense that he will say to him. For all the years, he never saw him regret nor even apologize for something that he and his family did, so why would he believe this right away like a fool?

Is Han Baiwei acting like a great person because there’s a camera? Wanting to play like a saint in front of him? Planning to use him? He won’t allow it!

"I’m sorry."

Looking at him, his eyes narrowed and scoffed. He leaned on the wall slightly and decided to watch his performance.

"I really hated you," Han Baiwei started with a sigh on his face. "Who wouldn’t? Mother always said that it’s because of you that my father’s attention was always taken away, even the other relatives of the family. Because your study is always great, because you are stronger, because you have more skills than me who is the legitimate son."

Han Baiwei’s eyes turned dazed as he remembered his childhood.

Behind what Han Suwen saw were actually memories full of unpleasant words. Everyone will always compare and since Han Suwen is better than him, all the praises that they will say to him carry pressure and threat.

When no one was watching, all he could hear was his mother’s words that he must do better. If not, nothing will be left to him.

So when he found out that Han Suwen actually went to his real mother, there was no anger nor a plan formed inside his mind to tell the family about this.

Instead, he wanted to help.

"Maybe... if I’ll help you get out of the family, they will also no longer force me to do things, right?" Han Baiwei looked at the young man with a bit of hope in his eyes.

They are just afraid that Han Suwen will do better than him, right? So if he is not in the family anymore, maybe they will also not care about what he’ll do too. Because there’s no one whom they need to compare to.

"..." Han Suwen didn’t say anything and just stared at the young man.

"I promised not to let the family interfere," Han Baiwei swears. "No matter what, I’ll help you leave!"

Han Baiwei exhales. "I will go to the Director and let him delete this. I’ll also check that they will surely not release anything about your visit, don’t worry!" Seeing that Han Suwen didn’t respond, he pouted but knew that he must be doubtful of his intention.

Anyway, he will just prove him wrong!

Han Baiwei didn’t wait for the young man to respond and quickly left to go to the Director, not knowing the complicated look from Han Suwen while watching him leave.
