[BL] Seducing Male Leads To Survive As A Villain In A Novel
Chapter 231: Long time no see, Lyeian?
CHAPTER 231: 231: LONG TIME NO SEE, LYEIAN?
The Priest of Elzager stared at Eden. His expression was calm and calculative. He didn’t say anything while he studied Eden for a while, as though he was trying to savor the "familiar" face he hadn’t seen for ages.
"Long time no see. You still have your silly sense of humour, don’t you?" The priest scoffed after a while.
Eden raised an eyebrow. "Long time no see? Am I supposed to know you?"
The priest was quiet.
"Then aren’t you here to conduct some fancy exorcism to cast the devil out of me?" Eden studied his attire. "Because that’s typically what is expected in such a situation."
The priest leaned backwards, staring at him. "This is certainly not how you act when you meet an old friend, is it? Don’t you think you’re being a bit too cold, dear wizard of EL?"
Eden paused, staring at him. Something was wrong and he could tell. He supposedly knew this man, or so this priest was suggesting he knew him.
But Eden was sure he didn’t. He didn’t know who this priest was. He never read about him in the novel. Or perhaps he didn’t get there?
He panicked for a while. "And why would I know you, sir?"
The priest quietly stared at him for a while.
Eden continued, "If you have anything important to let me know, then do so. I don’t have time. If you don’t, then you can let me go." Eden didn’t wish to spend much time here with him since he didn’t know him. He didn’t wish to end up making a mistake since he didn’t know who he was—even though they were supposed to be old friends.
But the priest was already catching up to something. His expression, choice of words, reactions... the Priest could tell.
"It’s been years since we met, so shouldn’t you be happy to spend some time with your friend? Why do you wish to leave so soon?" The priest demanded. "I mean, it took me a lot to come meet you. And you’re already accusing a dear friend of wanting to conduct some exorcism?" He scoffed. "That’s cruel."
Eden paused, staring at him. He didn’t understand what was happening, so it was hard for him to know how to react. "I’m not in the mood now. So maybe later. You should also take a break."
"I might not be here for too long, so I don’t know when next we might get time to sit here and have this discussion," The priest said, pouring them some tea. "So why don’t we sit down and enjoy the moment? What do you say? Lyeian?"
The words came so casually but hit Eden hard enough for him to pause and stare at the Priest for what seemed like a whole minute. He was confused but at the same time was filled with some level of realization.
This person knew the wizard of EL. He had probably known him for a long time now and probably knew him a bit too much.
They probably had some past together. A deep complicated past that he was probably threatening him with. Even the name he had called at the end of the sentence had shivers run down Eden’s spine.
Lyeian.
He didn’t know that name at all. But from the way the man said it, it was obvious he was referring to him.
Eden panicked. He didn’t remember this from the book at all. The book didn’t go this deep for the wizard of EL because he had died earlier on. So none of this was mentioned or whatever.
But now Eden knew it was hard to avoid it. Because he could tell something was brewing.
The priest continued, "Having seen you after long, I’m tempted to reminisce about the moments from years back. The lovely moments we shared back then in the mountain." He scoffed. "It makes me wish to go back to those old carefree moments. Don’t you think so? Lyeian?"
Pretentious. Eden could tell.
Eden found himself picking up clues that weren’t necessarily evident. And he could tell that this man was pretentious. He wasn’t a good person and he could predict that they never had any good past together.
He was here on the King’s order. So it was obvious that this was some sort of scheme to pull him down. And these words from him were rather lies.
Eden could tell and so he knew he had to play by ear and leave. As soon as possible.
He smiled. "Is that so? It’s interesting how you regard those past moments as good. They didn’t seem like that to me." He scoffed as he cast the priest a cold stare.
Their eyes locked.
"Is that so?"
"Dear Priest," Eden leaned closer to him. "I’m sure you don’t want to recount the past with me here. Things never ended well back then and I’m sure they wouldn’t this time around. So if you know what’s better for you, go back to where you come from and forget you ever met me. Else... I won’t be responsible for your sacred burial." He smirked.
The priest’s expression slowly fell. Those smug expressions had fallen as he cleared his throat and pulled backwards.
Eden smiled as he slowly got up to his feet. "I guess that will be the end of our lovely meeting today, pal. It wasn’t nice meeting you again at all. So make sure you don’t meet me again. Because next time I won’t be leaving this room without blood and a dead body. Okay?"
He flashed the priest a smile as he turned and walked out of the garden.
The priest sat there, still clearing his throat while feeling uneasy and nervous.
He was confused as to how Eden reacted. He couldn’t really read it through with his final reaction switching from one who was confused and ignorant to someone who had everything under control.
Lots of thoughts ran through his head at the moment while he wondered what the situation of the wizard of EL was. And if he truly recalled everything that happened many years ago...
