CHAPTER 236: 236: LAST WARNING

Eden now smiled as he said, "I’m just reminding you again. Because I’m just that kind, you see..." he said staring at Queen Lea’s terrified expression.

Before she could even say anything else, he walked up to her. Queen Lea stiffened as Eden approached.

"And before I leave, I figured I’d give you something." He walked up to Queen Lea and to the table. Poured some tea in a cup and turned to Lea.

"I would have made you wash my feet, but that would be ruining my perfect mystical feel. I can’t afford that," He scoffed as he stared at Queen Lea who was trying to understand what was happening.

"So just do this instead."

Before Queen Lea could understand what was happening, he poured it all over her.

Slowly and painfully, Eden emptied the cup of hot tea all over her. Letting it sink all over her; her hair, her face and her body.

She felt the rush of pain all over her as she staggered backwards in pain. The maids could feel her pain and they panicked. But they couldn’t do anything, especially not against Eden.

Eden smiled, satisfied. He enjoyed the angry expression on her face. "That’s more like it. See you around. And remember my words, because next time I won’t be warning you at all."

He said as he turned and walked towards the door. He stopped and said to Queen Elizabeth, "I believe you have more important things to do other than being here."

And with that, Queen Elizabeth turned and followed him behind. The two of them left the room, leaving Queen Lea alone in there to melt down in fury.

As Queen Elizabeth stepped out of the chamber, her lady-in-waiting instantly approached her.

"Are you okay? What happened there? Did she hurt you? What happened?" she asked the Queen. But Queen Elizabeth casually shook her head, indicating that she was okay.

After that, the lady-in-waiting looked up at Eden who stood there behind them. She could tell that he had a hand in setting the Queen free.

"Thank you for your generosity," she expressed.

But Eden didn’t even look her way. He had his eyes on Queen Elizabeth who had her back against him.

"How long are you going to keep on living here like this?" He asked her. His tone was furious. Furious on her behalf. Eden felt extremely bad for Queen Elizabeth having known her story. He would have wished for a better life for her.

"It’s none of your business. So I would have appreciated it if you stayed away next time," Queen Elizabeth finally said, her back still against Eden.

Eden scoffed. "None of my business? You’re Elvis’s mother. So it’s my business. Besides, I can’t stand by and watch it happen, can I? It’s not my fault that I can get a bit nosy."

"Then please try not to interfere next time," Queen Elizabeth said. "It’s always been like that. And they’ve always been like that. And I’m already used to it. This only can’t change anything. So don’t even bother."

"Is it supposed to be like that?" Eden inquired. "You’re the one letting it be so. Don’t you think?"

She was quiet for a while as Eden continued. "I’m sorry that I can’t not interfere. I always will as long as it pisses me off. And that’s how nosy I can get."

He continued, "And for you... I think it’s time you stopped this too."

Eden didn’t wish to bring it up. But he seemingly had no choice. "It’s been years. It’s been a long time and you’re the one suffering for it. You’re the one going through all these alone because you chose to be quiet. Don’t you think it’s enough already?"

Queen Elizabeth was quiet as he continued. "You should break free from their grip at least. The king’s grip. You should run back to your son. You should do something. Don’t just let them cage you because of a secret you know. You should be powerful with the secret that could pull them down, not be weak with it."

The words rang like echoes to Queen Elizabeth. She stood there as she clenched her fist. The words falling on her like an avalanche.

It was something she knew a bit too well. Something she had always brushed off without regard. A truth she had always ignored. Something she didn’t want to remind herself of.

But they came crumbling back to her through Eden’s mouth. And she found herself crashing into those words. But she held herself.

"You should mind your language, wizard. What gave you the right to say such words?" She demanded, her back still to him.

"Because a child was deprived of his childhood because of some silly fight between adults." Eden’s words attacked Queen Elizabeth’s conscience. And she gripped her hands tightly.

Eden continued, "He didn’t do anything wrong. He was only born. But he had to suffer all through his life because of some fight for power. And some secret he didn’t even know about. He doesn’t even know what it’s about, talk more of deciding what he could do... Don’t you think that is unfair?"

Eden hesitated and then said, "Don’t you think he at least deserves a chance to find out? Don’t you think he should at least decide...?"

Queen Elizabeth stiffened without saying anything. Words had betrayed her lips so she just stood there, hoping not to crash down to her knees.

But Eden continued nevertheless. "So free yourself from these shackles. And free the poor boy too. He doesn’t deserve this. None of you does. Don’t suffer for the faults of some greedy men and their empire. Free yourselves."

The words hit Queen Elizabeth hard. She closed her eyes as she fought the tears that threatened to fall.

Eden spoke on a personal note. Feelings all bottled up within him, he spoke and let them all out. Heavy and raw. And those words had certainly hit Queen Elizabeth who struggled to keep her calm.
