CHAPTER 632: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (3) (4K)_3
"Not just underage, she’s probably hundreds of years old. It was the woman in the castle last night who called me over to make the connection for her."
Rein found it incredible, but Liszt had special abilities, which made it understandable.
"Seriously, I thought he was just boasting, but it’s actually true. How does she look?"
Shadi took a deep drag on his cigarette.
"She’s drop-dead gorgeous, definitely in Qili’s league; she could make an appearance at the Continent Martial Arts Competition half-time show in September, and stand out before the whole world."
Rein spoke frankly.
"Are you kidding!"
Mika held his head with both hands, pulling an Emiya Kiritsugu face.
Fen fell silent for a moment; though Demon Hunters from the Life Weaving Society were practically everywhere, those with white hair and golden eyes were rare, and among them were Advanced Demon Hunters.
And the woman in the castle clearly fell within the Demon Hunters’ purview.
"Perhaps keeping our distance would be wise; Demon Hunter’s blood clan hunts differ from other units, factoring in the extremely low transmission risk of Ancient Scarlet Fever, and the blood clan’s ability to manipulate human minds, that’s where the real... notes lie." Fen couldn’t bring himself to say the word ’pervert,’ so he added, "And only members of the blood clan can lift the curse, so Demon Hunters usually eradicate anyone suspected of being under control."
Fen analyzed the situation rationally.
"There aren’t that many Demon Hunters; you just can’t stand seeing others succeed. The script of A Chinese Ghost Story sold like crazy, the market has already proven it."
Rein countered, he was right: Western Continent bestsellers were full of bizarre tales, and adventurous old-timers loved fantasizing about high elves, vampires, and the like. One archaic Neodymium copper storyline involving high elves and vampires was immensely popular, almost like a true story, with its finely detailed emotional portrayal. Years later, it is still being printed and dominating the charts.
"Say what you will."
Fen wasn’t keen on getting involved.
"That woman is a super-rich lady; she got the most luxurious suite at the Star Sea No.1 Music Hall. She gave away ten Golden Dragons without batting an eye, told Liszt to go there by one o’clock tomorrow afternoon. If he goes, great; if not, it’s off."
Rein realized this was no joke; Liszt was the kind who’d drive a Land Rover and get a brother one too, so full effort was essential.
"Damn."
Shadi stubbed out his cigarette, stood up, ready to find Liszt.
"It could definitely help turn around the cash flow."
Fen adjusted his monocle and stressed the importance of finding Liszt by tonight.
"Are you kidding!"
Mika was despairing over the shallow world; although Liszt had a scarred face, he was undeniably handsome, damn!
Liszt said he was scrambling to cover a shortfall of a hundred and sixty Golden Dragons.
Who knows where he’d go.
The four first checked with Taylor’s place, only to be stopped by the estate’s guard who said Liszt hadn’t come by that afternoon.
Then they sought out Wolman, since Liszt had mentioned wanting to sweet-talk him.
Wolman was left dazed by these folks, probably feeling like he’d never shake them off, and finally got rid of them, declaring he would pay an exit fee for peace and urged them never to bother him again.
No sign of him anywhere.
The four searched everywhere, and night was falling.
Ultimately, they learned that Liszt’s idea was to win one hundred and sixty Golden Dragons at a casino, seriously, are you insane!
In the casino run by East Sea Brother One, honesty is paramount; the house takes a cut but doesn’t cheat, or it’d never grow.
Looking at Liszt’s expression, his luck seemed good today and it might actually happen; he’d already won over ten Golden Dragons, grinning.
"What’s happening, all in a hurry with grim faces."
Liszt casually toyed with the chips, rather leisurely.
"You’re about to become the groom, damn!"
Rein was even more ecstatic than the groom himself.
