CHAPTER 386: CHAPTER 319: ACCOMMODATING AGAIN
"The King of Nature... has descended."
"Your expression turns serious as you recall the side effects of the ’Sky Blue Spear.’ It will attract the King of Nature’s gaze and hostility. You immediately decide to abandon it, disengaging from the current destiny line without hesitation."
"At that moment, a strange tremor originating from ’destiny’ surfaces in the depths of your mind. The ’Old Roots of Profanation’ exhibit a new change, merging with the back of your right hand."
"An epiphany blooms in your mind."
"You realize that you are now hosting the ancient essence that once belonged to the ’Lord of Blasphemy.’"
"The process was fleeting, no longer than the smallest unit of time. In the blink of an eye, the ’Old Roots of Profanation’ have vanished, leaving an indescribable hue shimmering faintly on the back of your right hand."
"A vast, incomprehensible torrent of information floods your mind, all related to the ’Old Roots of Profanation.’"
"But in your current state, you neither have the time nor energy to absorb and process it all."
"The will of the ’King of Nature’ is about to descend, tearing through time and space. The Extreme Cold Lake shows signs of mutation—plants are sprouting from the permafrost, and the spectral sound of beastly horns echoes faintly. Just a wisp of its aura causes the surrounding ten-mile radius to undergo cataclysmic transformations."
"You have no intention of facing a ’Pillar’-level Ancient God King right now."
"You prepare to once again use the ’Dark Crow of Profane Fortune’ to rewind the destiny line back to the moment of your previous choice."
"Suddenly, a bold idea emerges in your heart."
"If you use the ’Old Roots of Profanation’ to contain the ’Sky Blue Spear,’ could it be possible to avoid the King of Nature’s attention and enmity?"
"You had not considered this option before because you hadn’t yet contained the ’Old Roots of Profanation.’ Without containing its essence, it was nothing more than a useless decoration. But that’s no longer the case—now that you’ve successfully merged with the ’Old Roots of Profanation,’ it has become an integral part of your being. Combined with the traits you once inherited from shepherding the ’King of Nature,’ this approach might just work."
"You decide to take the gamble. Without further hesitation, you focus your mind on enveloping the ’Sky Blue Spear,’ attempting to integrate it into the ’Old Roots of Profanation.’
"One second passes."
"Two seconds pass."
"The spatial zone around the Extreme Cold Lake has already been completely sealed by ’Nature.’ Its aura boils like molten lava. The wrathful will of the King of Nature is on the verge of descending."
"In this moment of crisis, a glimmer flashes in your eyes as you silently think to yourself... it’s done."
"The ’Sky Blue Spear,’ which had been floating midair, vanishes in the blink of an eye. In the emerald sea within your second essence of the ’Old Roots of Profanation,’ a long spear begins to sink and rise."
"Containment successful."
"At this moment, countless mysterious symbols representing ’Nature’ manifest in the air above. They begin coalescing into the form of a staff. The Ancient God King wielding the authority over ’Nature’ has started to infiltrate reality, determined to stop your act of profanation."
"You waste no time, immediately activating the power of the ’Dark Crow of Profane Fortune.’ Your surroundings twist, distort, and shatter into an illusory cascade..."
...
"And so begins the eagerly anticipated free looting phase."
Yang Qizhou quickly stops refreshing the text logs and opens the ’Destiny Store.’ With practiced ease, he exchanges all the Old Sacrifices for ’Vitality Potions,’ ’Challenge Stickers,’ ’Teleportation Scrolls,’ and the ’Nth Fate Line.’ The entire process is astoundingly smooth, and the quantities are jaw-dropping.
After completing this routine, Yang Qizhou doesn’t refresh the text logs immediately. Instead, his gaze shifts to the back of his left hand.
"There, an indescribable hue bursts forth briefly, then vanishes."
"According to ’Little Seventeen,’ back in the middle to late phases of the Third Epoch, when the ’Profane Wizards’ reigned over the Old Lands, not even the ’Six Wizard Kings’ had managed to contain a second essence of the ’Old Roots.’ But the game character (or arguably, myself) has accomplished it."
Yang Qizhou doesn’t feel the slightest joy over this unexpected and monumental gain. Instead, his brows furrow deeply, and an immense unease rises from within.
"Successfully containing the ’Old Roots of Profanation’ may seem unproblematic on the surface. After all, the game character wields the ’Dark Crow of Profane Fortune’ and can restart destiny lines—they are most likely a successor or even a reincarnation of the ’Lord of Blasphemy.’"
"But this is all too convenient."
"So convenient that it feels as if a pair of sinister hands is propelling everything forward."
"It could be that... perhaps the ’Lord of Blasphemy’ scripted everything in preparation for reclaiming divine sovereignty. Or it may be that the ’Day of Shining Stars’ is approaching, and many hidden entities are placing their bets—like the ’Hidden Wizard King’ or the ’Dream Realm Master.’ Perhaps destiny has already marked out the path. Whatever the truth is, with the game character’s current standing, there’s no resisting such arrangements. For now, I must follow the script."
"If this being truly harbors malice, then the game character—or myself—will inevitably face them one day."
Yang Qizhou murmurs to himself, his mind involuntarily recalling the words once spoken by ’Mr. Death’... When confronted with a true life-or-death crisis, one from which there is no escape or retreat, will I be afraid?
Right now, Yang Qizhou has no answer.
...
"When you open your eyes again, you have returned to the moment of your previous choice."
"You exhale a deep breath, recalling the oppressive might of the ’Pillar’-level deity. A lingering fear grips you, taking a long moment before you finally regain your composure."
"You remember the familiar sound of a sigh in the last destiny line."
