Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride
Chapter 522: The World Keeps Moving
Chapter 522: The World Keeps Moving
Nikolai left the private room where Nikita slept while watching her silently after three days of constant care and checks, which cleared each girl’s health. So they could soon move to the specialised room inside the main mansion.
“That reminds me, since I am here I should check on Sulley.”
Although the Silver clan didn’t torment him to the limit, forced to keep the watchmen from Nosferatu convinced he still suffered. ‘I wonder if he remembers what happened…’ Nikolai spoke to him several times, but the young werewolf collapsed soon after reaching S-City, most likely because he felt safe.
“Nurse.” He hailed a tall woman, her hair brown with slight silver hidden beneath.
“Oh, if it isn’t our young lord. Good morning, sir.”
She bowed at a perfect angle and covered her chest using her left hand. The formal salute and greeting that Leona and the maids offered.
‘Hm?’
He wondered if she might have served his grandfather in the past, and so he couldn’t help but ask after checking her nametag. “Nurse Leah, by chance have you served in the Maid corps of our house?”
The moment he spoke, her eyes shone for a moment, and his skin tingled with the aura of someone who had reached the Elder stage.
“How delightful to be recognised by the Patriarch himself. Yes, sir. I served as the head of maid unit Delta for two hundred years, at the side of your grandfather and later retired serving as your father’s nanny.”
The pride that sparkled in her eyes made Nikolai pause.
‘That’s right, this is the kind of response I hope the maids and vassals have when I let my son take over for me in the future.’ Ever since he became a father, his heart started to change, although he loved to fight and have sex. Now, other things that once felt distant and unrelated to him grew stronger.
‘No, if one of my daughter’s seeks the seat. I will not hold back for any of them.’
“I can feel your pride, and determination. May I ask why you work in the medical wing now, Madame Leah?”
Because she served for so long and served as his father’s nanny, Nikolai decided to offer her the correct respect, even if he was the king who led them. He swore at this moment. To never forget to reward the skills, talent and work of his people.
Lest he become an arrogant tyrant who loses touch.
Leah just smiled back and looked at the large room with the three children and Nikita resting inside. “Because I love this clan, my family and above all. Now that I cannot fight, to deliver the new lives of my lord, his wives and my sisters….” Her eyes sharpened and her voice lowered as if lamenting something. “I can continue in their place.”
“I see.”
Nikolai stepped back and gave a shallow bow, something rarely used by the lords of his clan. He remembered his father teaching him to perform this for people worthy of utmost respect.
‘She helped deliver my daughters, to keep my wife safe. These women safeguard our future… I need to reconsider the budget for the medical wing.’
“My Lord!?” She gasped at his show of respect.
“Thank you for helping the clan, I know for sure that my father, grandfather, and I will never take your skills, sacrifices and hard work for granted.”
“T-There’s no need, you’ll make this old wolf blush.”
To see her cheeks turn bright red was quite amusing for Nikolai, so he pushed on the subject with the wave of his hand. “Don’t be so modest. Since I am here, guide me to the young wolf from the Silver Clan.”
Leah nodded and immediately switched to her serious mode. Nikolai’s lips curved as he followed behind her in a good mood. ‘Tomorrow the babies will sleep in our room… and I can start working out again.’ His thought lingered, but Nikita had been extremely horny since she started recovering.
‘Will I survive it?’

Sulley didn’t have the same beauty or race as Kumiko. However, they carried the same blood. Even if it was a small amount. But thanks to Nikolai’s blood, most of Sulley’s blood became identical to hers.
‘His ears are now more fox shaped… and his hair golden.’
“How is he doing, Nurse Leah?”
Nikolai struggled to bond with new people once, but as he used his blood. Saved people, and grew closer to his wives and men like Alexei, Vernan and Ryan, his need for male comrades and brothers grew.
“Because of a long period of malnourishment and physical injuries, he might have struggled to recover…” Leah looked at Nikolai with another bow. “But thanks to my lord’s blood, his damaged organs, weakened muscles, and malformed bones have all been repaired.” She then pointed to his multiple casts. “We could reset his bones and spine thanks to Mistress Kumiko and your help.”
‘I don’t deserve such high praise…’
Nikolai just gave his blood; to him, this kind of thing didn’t matter. He was Nikolai’s brother-in-law and, now by blood alone, became Kumiko’s true brother.
However, he wouldn’t develop a clone technique on her level. Sulley could create two combat clones similar to Nikolai’s. ‘Well, I should use my inherited blood arts more often. I got too used to just using my devil blood aura.’
He closed his eyes with a slow breath and stepped back.
The crackle of ice and flame lingered in the place he stood, a clone of pure flames and another of ice followed his movements.
“My Lord, is this your power?!” Leah gasped as she watched the two clones copy his actions; something on this level differed from the past.
“I guess you could say it’s the fragment of my love with his sister.” Nikolai’s clones began to perform squats on the spot, while the main body focused his special vision on the inside.
Ten minutes passed, and the two clones faded into red and blue mist.
“I see…”
With a confident smile, he dropped onto the edge of the bed, patting his brother-in-law’s thigh with a chuckle. “It seems that my abilities grew when reaching Great Elder.” The power of his black blood and flame seemed to have fused with the fire and ice elemental powers of his beloved Vampires.
‘Wait, is this Anya’s power?’
That’s when he realised that maybe Anya’s power wasn’t elemental blood arts like the normal Tepes clan, but she could combine and fuse them somehow. ‘Is it because I made her a pseudo-hybrid?’
“I’ll have to check later… for now, I should wake this sleeping kid.”
Nikolai looked around the empty room and gathered that Leah had left quietly during his training. He then noticed the steaming mug of coffee and curled his lips. “After all, the maids of this house are amazing.”
“Nngh…. my body… Sister?”
Sulley’s eyes became a dull gold, not as beautiful as Kumiko’s, but no one would notice after the sudden changes. “Hey, brother.”
“E-Eh?! Brother?”
The young male sat up, with a low whine, shaking his heavy arms still wrapped in solid casts. He then growled at Nikolai and pulled back. “Who!? Where is this!” Of course, the medicine might be a reason, but Nikolai was sure the two of them met and spoke…
“Can’t you tell? It’s your sister’s husband, Nikolai.”
“Ah?!”
He looked around, then noticed the small picture frame, a cheap, tattered photo of him and Kumiko, which reminded Nikolai of the past when his father thought the two shared no blood connection and got jealous.
‘My stupid dark history.’
Then, when he gave the kid blood, he found that there was at least 10% match to her blood, which he made 95% and the rest was an improved Silver Clan bloodline based on the current Patriarch.
“Are we still…” His words were vague, as if clinging to hope.
“We’re in S-Kingdom, S-City. The place where your sister lives. You’re safe now. I’ve spoken to the Clan leader and learned the truth. You should take a look in the mirror, I apologise if you hate it… But know that your bloodline has changed.”
“Hueh?”
Sulley nodded but tilted his head in confusion at the same time… then he looked into the glass mirror beside him and froze. “Eh? Is this me?” He remained still for close to five minutes before lifting the heavy cast and stroking his ears, cheeks and then his fangs with his exposed fingertips.
“I look like Sister Kumiko…”
Nikolai was about to speak when Sulley turned to him with tears streaming down his cheeks and eyes clenched together. “I… really look like her brother… we look like siblings! Can you believe it?”
He couldn’t react to the sudden emotions, while a thump spread through his chest. Nikolai felt a similar emotion to what he felt for his father, a sense of familial affection.
Werewolves were a strange race in this way. Someone he felt nothing for, and just helped out of duty, had somehow become a person included in his ‘to protect’ list.
‘It’s strange… is it because he looks like her?’
“Am I dreaming, Brother-in-law?” The young Sulley finally seemed his age…
“No, this isn’t a dream. You look like good siblings, welcome to the family. Sulley.”
‘It seems Kumiko isn’t the only one who gained a brother…’
With a bitter smile on his lips, Nikolai watched the excited young fox who cried his out.
